03/6/2010 16:02 | I think Tiger Resources (TIR) will be very pleased with their NPE investment, substantially up today and adding value to portfolio (based on 450K holding) NPE @ 135p gives £607K Recall From RNS 28th May 2010 Nautical Petroleum Plc, 450,000 valued @ £252,000 Reminder - TIR trades at below cash, investments come for free !! (no advice intended) | giant steps
01/6/2010 09:45 | with share price at 50% discount to nva why dont they just keep buying their own shares. in the apparent abscence of any other ideas this is a "no brainer" what?? | curt3
28/5/2010 21:02 | Lots of talk, but no action!!! | topvest
28/5/2010 15:02 | 2009 accounts show £3.469M in cash and since the realised approx £1.2M on sale of investments. So at 30/04/10 there would appear to be c. £4.6M which woul equate to about 2.3p in cash per share !! current share price 1.9p. Its sad that the company is held in such disregard by the market. If only management would extract the digit and get some visibility going through actively persuing its strategy. | curt3
18/5/2010 16:34 | would not it be hilarious if management up-dated their website just to let us poor shareholders know what the current portfolio is !! The information is years out of date on most of the investee companies. Like I mean, what do they get paid for ?? They draw excessive fees and do sweet fanny adams!! Yes as along term holder who bought in at 4p I am definitely smoldering. | curt3
09/5/2010 16:55 | Added 100k @ 2.05p on Friday. | skyship
04/5/2010 07:42 | Also a newbie - this time around at any event! Pretty small allocation as yet so may add if I see a cheap offer... | skyship
02/5/2010 10:08 | I'm a newbie, maybe 8 weeks waiting for some sort of reverse deal | the bull
01/5/2010 14:41 | Hardly new holders if we've held for 7/8 years! Yes, still at 2p. Only positive, is that they haven't lost the float! | topvest
01/5/2010 10:17 | ah good to see comments from some new holders! in 2000 Crediton Minerals renamed itself Tiger and came out as an EIS stock 'opportunity' and it still trades at 2p (+/-) I'm still waiting to realise on this one! | crazy russian
30/4/2010 21:54 | 7.5 years for me, so at least we are both patient! Seriously though, Colin Bird has less available shells now and so I think this should be used for his next deal. If we don't get a deal in 2 years, then it's time to liquidate the company! | topvest
30/4/2010 16:30 | Not to puncture your hopesI bought into TIR 8 years ago and still waiting for a reverse takeover;) | metallica
26/4/2010 11:15 | Means they will now also be able to sell the rest reasonably easily when opportunities arise. On the right reverse takeover these will go to a premium over book value and possibly explode. Here's hoping anyway. | topvest
26/4/2010 11:13 | Yes, I think a deal could be on the cards. That's what I'm holding for. Could be a year off, but I can't see nothing happening here forever! | topvest
26/4/2010 10:07 | see they have sold 8m shares in Ascent and no longer major holder in them. Pity they didnt sell them when price was much higher !!! However after two years of doing virtually nothing it is better than sitting on their hands. Given that TIR is sitting on a cash pile of c£3M I wonder what they want the extra cash for ?? Hopefully Mr Bird is at long last getting things moving. | curt3
11/4/2010 20:43 | Yes, I don't think Bird will want to sour his reputation by not doing something with Tiger Resource Finance. They should only be drawing minimum salaries at the moment as they haven't done anything for 3/4 years. The only good things that Rowan did were his early investments in Ascent and Cambrian Mining. Since then the only positive has been that they haven't wasted money, other than on the too high salaries! I'm not sure what's going on with Bruce at the moment; he seems to have stopped investing. He made some serious money on some of his investments; South African Resources and Camec being the multi-million profit investments. It will be interesting to see whether he bounces back, although he's certainly getting on a bit now and maybe wants to enjoy his retirement. | topvest
11/4/2010 20:22 | and with NAV 3.5p not much of a risk to take really is it | the bull
11/4/2010 20:21 | That's why I have taken a small £2K punt, maybe a 5 bagger on CB reversing into something | the bull
11/4/2010 20:18 | Well that's been the game so far, but Bird has a reasonably strong record. I do feel this is going to be used one day as a shell company. Time will tell. | topvest
11/4/2010 18:30 | Exactly - with a little bit of fudging on top to make it look kosher. "or it may just be used to pay salaries and top up various pension pots!!" | witteklip
09/4/2010 16:29 | or it may just be used to pay salaries and top up various pension pots!! | crazy russian
09/4/2010 14:54 | It looks to me that all investments are in the process of being sold. Then we have a very attractive cash shell for either a return of cash or for Mr Bird's latest mining property. I suspect the latter, but that's what I've been expecting for a couple of years already! | topvest
09/4/2010 07:57 | Tiger Resource Finance (TIR) NAV 3.53p, Market price 2.1p Investments £2m (1.16p), Cash £4.1m (2.37p) Trading below cash Investments for FREE ! 31st March 2010 Ascent Resources £ 864,450 Vatukoula Gold Mines £ 306,667 Nautical Petroleum £ 202,500 Franconia Minerals £ 192,196 Gold Fields Ltd £ 87,203 Aquarius Platinum £ 78,310 Pan African £ 59,000 Pacific North West £ 55,517 African Eagle £ 49,647 Tertiary Minerals £ 39,900 U308 Holdings £ 33,333 In-Solve £ 15,625 Minmet £ 8,736 Sunrise Diamonds £ 4,655 Total Investments £ 1,997,739 | giant steps
09/4/2010 07:56 | Yes, but how much longer will it before CB confirms the retirement of that useless wastrel Rowan; and the placing of his shares. Worth paying him off with half the Ascent shares just to be rid of him. Until that day dawns TIR are going nowhere... | skyship
09/4/2010 07:49 | 9th April 2010 Portfolio valuation 3.53p ending 31st March 2010 | giant steps |
