Re retiring the watch, I keep using this one as does not matter if it gets bashed, just put my good one on when dolled up.

Got my new watch crystal as ordered 28.4mm diameter. Trouble is I actually needed 27.7mm. I measured it wrong, took me ages to measure in situ as well, but not to worry as I just filled the gap with special glue which is what many jewellers do anyway. Its very special exotic glue I used and not easy to find in Poundland but found in the end under DIY ...Instant glue, 4 bottles for guess how much...£1.
Next issue was sealing the bezel ring to watch case to make it water proof to 2 inches -- I know, my Silicon instant gasket for the car....worked a treat.
