Erm not to be a pessimist here but if one side gets 75% of Airline and 25% of tour operator and the other side gets 25% of the Airline and 75% of the tour operator when I was at school that added up to 100% of both, which means shareholders will get zero, well they will get a vote on it which shareholders will no doubt vote against then it will go into administration in which case shareholders will get zero again, the last Jedi Neset Kochar is shareholders only hope however I fear his lightsaver is broke

Ah, we are at that point in the proceedings when aphorisms of the Warren Buffett / Rothschild are misused. Firstly those statements predominantly refer to general market conditions, where everything is marked down and otherwise high quality companies are priced like they are going out of business. It most certainly should not be used when companies that are going out of business are priced like they are going out of business. Equally importantly, though not pertinent at this time, when there is blood on the streets it is terminal for some companies.

Anyone that wants the company would be buying the debt, they after all are the owners. Yet no one is.

Not sure if bondholders have any choice but to accept as I doubt its worth more in liquidation. With that haircut on the bonds I would think old equity will be worth between 0.01p and 0.1p nominal. I still think a pre-pack is favourite because (moron) shareholders will vote against as they don't understand their current tokens are just options to buy new equity at full price. There may be some option value over and above the headline price, though personally I would not be falling over myself to invest.

For those in doubt about shorts, and I am not sure why this needs explaining every time but it does, if the company goes into administration it is a complete win for all shorts either directly or through spread bets. If it is a pre-pack then spread bet companies will pay out immediately. If it is a liquidation they will pay out once the liquidator says no value to equity. Small private investors have been known to vote against their own best interests - if they knew what they were doing they would not be holding the shares.

Barrister Tom Smith QC, who led Thomas Cook's legal team, told Mr Justice Norris that the Thomas Cook group had a "net debt position" of around £1.25 billion.

He said the planned Fosun deal would involve an injection of £900 million of "new money".

So the two companies will have 325m of debt post splitting.

THAT WAS THE STATEMENT TO THE COURT YESTERDAY.

I think you will find it will be debt free, based on bonds the deal must be in the region is 15-20p in the pound for the bonds, at that rate if you had £100m in debt that would lead to £80-£85m wiped off in return for £15m-£20m of new equity in the business find out the total bond value and apply the above, also any bank debt may be converted but that could be at a different rate

Who carries that TCG as in travel or Airline?

They clearly are still going to be using cash paid by customers to fund the business.

Of course we do not know real debt to be carried as this is NET so i assume the assets will be taken against this to arrive at this figure.
