Yeah ok fair point, But then by that description so was Tesco and they sorted that out.Patisserie Vallerie was a accounting fraud too and that went under. THG are on a hiring spree at the moment and staff saying smashing records. The culture seems good at THG when looked at closely.Doesnt seems like a fraud to me but what do I know, in my head the pre ipo stuff is closer to what happened at tesco

Sensei wework was overvalued and a fraud/scam - look at the S-1 filing. They manipulated the numbers - the leaked pitch documents didn't help them either.

Weworks not a fraud was just grossly overvalued and had money thrown at it.Theranos is a fraud because the product was known to not work by the board. After having an accountancy issue previously youd expect THG to be really on the ball about wishy washy accounting too.Ingenuity is already free at these prices so it can only grow from here and it is a real product as evidenced by hotel chocolat, looks fantastic, myprotein, matalan, homebase, creed, oral-b, cocacola, clink and more.Ingenuity is a product for large brands though not small merchants

Economic Uncertainties for 2022

Our headline sales growth expectations of +7.0% sounds uncontroversial. However, forecasting sales for the year ahead is unusually difficult and the buoyancy of recent months makes it all the harder. We are assuming no further disruption from COVID; but there are five areas of uncertainty in the wider economic environment that we need to bear in mind, these are:

Pent-up demand & savings

To what extent has the buoyancy of the last nine months been the result of pent-up demand combined with the spending of savings accumulated over the pandemic? How much of this will reverse out as we move through next year?

Travel and leisure

To what extent will the return to spending on overseas holidays and other social activities depress demand for discretionary goods?

Essential goods inflation

To what extent will inflation in essential goods and services (fuel, electricity, food, etc) reduce discretionary spending on clothing and homeware?

NEXT goods inflation

To what extent will the inflation in our own selling prices, estimated at around 6% in the second half (see below), serve to depress the demand for our products?

Tax and interest rates

To what extent will the 1.25% increase in National Insurance and possible increases in mortgage rates affect discretionary spending?

The other big worry is that if ingenuity doesn't happen, and it isn't selling like hot cupcakes, then we are left with a cosmetics/protein merchant trying to compete with Amazon. I've yet to find a product on THG owned websites that I can't get for the same (or even lower) price from Amazon. Good luck competing with Amazon on pricing and service. At best, it's an ultra-low margin business.

As far as ingenuity, I'm not exactly impressed by the websites. Hope the backend and behind the scenes is where the true value lies.

I'm gonna buy in nobby batches.. keep my buy orders active.. then I promise to sell them all at £5.17 to that slag, who doesn't know how to spell Sheila.

Good time to accumulate before the slag lifts hey skirt.

Hope this helps and thank you for this Lovya loads xx

Jomac I'm long buddy so I am inclined to believe this isn't fraud. You could potentially read SoftBank's actions as "We don't know if this is fraud or not, so we'll buy an option." SoftBank invested in Baba, true, but didn't invest in Amazon - Bezos was asking $100 million for 40% of Amazon. They certainly have made good bets but they also have some really bad ones. Anyway, let's see what happens.

No doubt SoftBank have made some poor investments but they have made some stunning ones as well , their 20 million dollar investment in Alibaba is worth what ? 110 billion dollars. I would imagine that their due diligence has become more stringent due to some of the companies you mention which should give you more confidence in Ingenuity not less.

There are many reasons why this stock is down. I'm not particularly worried about the fall - cheaper to buy more. Biggest worry for me is that it is a fraud which it very much might be. SoftBank has been involved with the biggest frauds in history (wirecard, greensill, wework to name a few) and the fact that they bought an option rather than invest outright makes me even more suspicious that this might be a fraud. Matt Moulding is known to have been involved in some questionable activities and when you find a roach, there usually are others if you dig deeper.
