Soleman, I don't really agree with the down day tomorrow in this sector. Possibility of lockdown and spike of omicron was more then obvious weeks ago so I don't think there will be a huge impact on other sector. All priced in imo. Moreover, lockdown will certainly help online retail sector. Covid related stocks already over hyped over trader which is why stocks have not gone up significantly.
All imo obviously.

Short term the trend has changed, even I didn't expect after a new all time low such a spectacular reversal mid week, it formed a bear trap in the end. Sure it didn't close up for the week but it forms a lovely weekly pin on the chart that keeps the bowl formation very much in play. We made a new swing high week before last and have seen increasing volatility since, having failed to break down the next attempt will be up. Monthly candle is already in the green for the first time since the collapse. This just needed a catalyst to get through 200-205p, I believe the change in guidance from those who made the drop happen will provide this and I see the stock closing next week somewhere between 220p-250p.Of course just my own thoughts and I know you hold a different opinion, good luck.

Soleman I respect you but I disagree I think it will continue the pattern of recent weeks - back to 1.70sOften it's the lone voice that's right in the stock market or we'd all be millionaires

Smith I think the market generally will have a down day tomorrow, given its covid driven it may not impact THG negatively but tough to tell. The Times article is very significant "The Analyst" who initiated the short attack now saying they see no more downside and the business appears solid is a huge positive to sentiment. The analyst is actually a well respected firm who advise institutional investors and high net worth individuals. You have to think on this basis that tomorrow ii shorts will be closing and institution's that liked the stock but were on the fence will now be in a rush to buy. There's potential for very high volume and a very large percentage upside move tomorrow.

Title - THG attacker calls a truce after shares fall"The City researcher that helped precipitate a spectacular slump in the shares of The Hut Group has indicated the worst is now over for the troubled online retailer.Research firm The Analyst has withdrawn its short recommendation on THG, in effect declaring that the share price has no further to fall. The firm told its clients it was difficult to see further downside and that THG's core beauty and nutrition businesses appeared sound. In October, The Analyst recommended that clients open short positions - a bet against the share price - in the group on the basis that its Ingenuity ecommerce platform was grossly overvalued. The firm also highlighted concerns around THG's corporate governance and noted that its cashflows were deteriorating.THG's shares have since slumped 63 per cent to 190p.Attempts by THG founder and chief executive Matt Moulding to restore investor confidence in Ingenuity - which had underpinned the group's valuation - backfired dramatically, prompting the stock to fall even further. The collapse in THG's shares has raised doubts over whether Japanese investment giant SoftBank will exercise its option to buy a 19.9 per cent stake in Ingenuity for $1.6 billion (£1.2 billion). As a whole, THG is currently worth £2.3 billion."

The Analyst has stopped recommending a short on THG, because it thinks the share price has fallen enough, and the business is stable at this level. Words to that effect in the ST.
