The action over the last couple of days has all the hallmarks of a major announcement in the offing.

The House MM’s were probably warned not to be short and in a thin market they decided to rock the boat by placing sell orders through an IDB which they were in the market to buy the other side.

Very easy to scare the market in a share like THG with this sort of manipulation!
Organise a number of large sell orders through the IDB a 1p or 2p below the screen price and then as the House MM drop its price while taking the IDB’s stock on board.

It’s an old scam which scares a number of weak holders into selling while also hitting stop orders.

The MM runs a matched book with the IDB transactions while at the same time taking on board all the loose selling ahead of the major announcement.

As you can see on this ADVFN page, many questions have been asked about what is going on to knock a share price by nearly 15p without any announcement.

This is a market manipulation which really does require a Stock Exchange investigation.

Will we see one? Will we heck!!!

But don't be scared into selling with this sort of manipulation going on!

Senti/Shiela, you know how THG works, up and down like Mrs Malmo's knickers av made plenty of dosh top slicing in the past and will again in the future.

Am not gonna get it right every time, but this will bounce it always does :)

IG Traders are opening shorts today.
70% short today or just selling - complete reverse of yesterday.

I agree with Mele this stinks of a short manipulation, wouldn't be surprised if there are number of players under the threshold desperate to get out before the results.

You can imagine the Pond Scum bunker rooms last week:

'Matt Moulding is on hols so this will be the perfect time to create some FUD, call the times, fire up the boiler rooms and lets drop the price.'

Remember FCF for 2024 and the rabbit from the hat will be capex. Matt Moulding said in his webcast they can turn capex on and off like a tap.

Don't be surprised for a massive cut in capex to boost profits.

The RNS must be the cause but will look a shorts data later as most closed over Christmas or before.
No increase on IG shorts in fact most yesterdays trades were buys? 70% at IG.
Clearly someone sold and is still doing so today so far.
Yesterdays volume was 14m? - that's big
