11/3/2023 15:48 | This will warn and collapse Imho don’t argue with market | onjohn
11/3/2023 12:48 | I am still holding here with a small loss. This seems to be a well run business and the next statement should be more positive with a dividend announcement which is a good sign. I am hanging on and might add if they go lower. Graeme Coulthard who has accumulated a notifiable stake must think there is value here. | crumppot
11/3/2023 11:59 | Chinahere. I really don't know. Two months until results is a long time to be drifting down in an illiquid share when there is no obvious positive story waiting at the end. I have said that small improvements in sales can lead to a big jump in profits when a retailer is trading near breakeven. I foresaw retail in general having a good December and bet heavily on WRKS in January only to be disappointed that sales were not converted into an improved outlook. I may buy back in pre results with a much smaller stake. GLA | darrin1471
10/3/2023 18:31 | Do you think the FY update will be positive? I'm going to stick around (with a current loss) as we just don't know when true value will be realised here. | chinahere
10/3/2023 16:14 | I sold all my WRKS for a 15% loss on Monday having been up 35%. Dean Hoyle overhang appeared to be holding back the stock. Good December sales did not result in increased profits. Full Year trading update is 18th May and it is difficult to see any positive news in the wider markets helping WRKS before then. | darrin1471
10/3/2023 14:54 | It's trading at distressed levels without actually being distressed :-) | simmsc
10/3/2023 14:52 | It's a remarkably healthy company given the low share price. It makes a profit, it generates cash (29p per share! and it generates more cash than it makes profit), total liabilities dropped from 173m in 2020 to now 149m and no long term debt in the mix apart from the discussed leases (which have a high probability of dropping). They are increasing their ability to service any short term outgoings. This company didn't dilute us during the hardest of times. | simmsc
10/3/2023 14:35 | Next and Superdry annual reports detailed significant rent reductions | darrin1471
10/3/2023 14:29 | This is getting deliciously cheap again .... the packman in me fancies some more | simmsc
10/3/2023 14:28 | Where are those figures from, 40% rent reductions seem staggering. I'd love to get my stores rents down 10% so if you have anything I can help my case when I'm reviewing mine it would help. | greatwhitefunkmaster
10/3/2023 12:04 | Other retailers are proudly claiming rent renegotiations when they report. If you assume 40% reductions and 20% rent reviews annually, similar to elsewhere, it compensates for lots of cost increases in rates and wages. | harry_david
10/3/2023 09:50 | Apologies, second line should read "rents" not rates | greatwhitefunkmaster
10/3/2023 09:49 | Business rates likely down, especially due to 75% relief from AprilRates likely static or downInterested to know why you think otherwise. | greatwhitefunkmaster
10/3/2023 06:43 | Albany. Do you think the same about all retailers? | crumppot
09/3/2023 22:47 | 530 shops which are leaseholds 530 sets of rents and 530 sets of business rates tax going up most shops on vacant high streets, losing a pile of money slow motion car crash ultimately believe they should be going into administration | albanyvillas
08/3/2023 20:06 | £18.5 million market cap., 530 shops, nearly £280m sales and over the cycle debt free. The management look good to me. If they can get to a 10% profit on sales that would give a yearly return greater than the market cap. I am telling myself to buy more - but sadly I have enough already - lol. | chinahere
08/3/2023 17:48 | Big seller might be the ex chairman getting rid of the last bit of stock. There were a no of buyers today. The next announcement should be the Christmas figures and a dividend statement. My guess is both will be ok. I am thinking of adding more, as they look oversold. | crumppot
08/3/2023 15:58 | I would not want to be a holder on the next RNS here, this is the kind of naff share than can halve can see it now, WRKS -42% RNS | onjohn
08/3/2023 15:55 | WHSmith is closing some branches too. | casholaa
08/3/2023 15:54 | Meanwhile, stationary brand, Paperchase, has also announced it is closing down its Eldon Square store after the company fell into administration at the start of the year. Large 'closing down' signs are in the windows of the store, which sits close to the shopping centre's empty Debenhams unit. READ MORE: Three men arrested after armed police called to disturbance in Sunderland city centre ChronicleLive understands that staff do not have a date for when the store will close, however, it is believed that it will remain open for the next couple of weeks while it holds a major sale to clear its remaining stock. The Newcastle store is said to be one of 106 Paperchase stores set to close across the UK. | onjohn
08/3/2023 15:51 | paper chase stock floods market | onjohn
08/3/2023 11:39 | SHOE are always having 'closing down sales' but they have gone from 40p to £2.50p. This is cheap. | chinahere
08/3/2023 11:38 | No they weren't | crumppot
08/3/2023 11:27 | I'm pretty sure that pre-covid they were having 'closing-down' sales??? | casholaa
08/3/2023 11:19 | I do not like business as such /compared to card/ but I highly respect the present management.... it will come good | kaos3 |
