28/1/2025 15:53 | Peter, I agree with your comments regarding the kmg pipelines but I think Kenges is looking further out than that. With regards the TAPI the biggest obstacle has been the security situation in Afghanistan that has up to now stalled the project. However note from the article that it is the Taliban that has now started construction in Afghanistan because of the 1 billion in transit fees it would generate, and the jobs and economic growth it would bring to the region. With the Taliban now onside the project should now move forward. Kenges is looking at the bigger picture and for Tethys to be part of that is highly significant. | tankerton
28/1/2025 15:33 | Tankerton I appreciate what you're saying about the future prospects in Kaz. I am perhaps a bit apathetic when it comes to these great ambitious projects that never seem to get anywhere. They have been talking about improving pipelines for as long as I can remember and there has literally been nothing done that has in anyway benefitted Tethys. So I personally feel that the less ambitious project of joining our fields to the kmg pipeline is a manageable slice of progress for Kaz & Tethys. | 1399peter
28/1/2025 13:17 | Peter, the kmg negotiations are for their oil pipeline and yes that would be a more immediate benefit to Tethys giving them higher oil prices. I was trying to give a sense of the opportunity that Kenges sees in growing Tethys. We will hear more of the negotiations on connecting to the kmg pipeline in due course and with it costs and timelines but that can only happen after we get the commercial license and that's why that announcement in the coming days or weeks is so important. Everything starts moving forward with the signing of the license. | tankerton
28/1/2025 12:57 | Tankerton, I get your point but TAPI is a long way off, perhaps years. I would like to hear more about the connection to kmg's pipeline. Costs and timeline. Obviously we have to get agreement yet but that would be a quicker option surely. | 1399peter
28/1/2025 12:29 | The point is Peter, Kazakhstan is set to become a central hub for diversified oil and gas routes, including Europe. This is the opportunity that Kenges sees and the fact that it seems like he has chosen Tethys as a vehicle to to share in that growth is highly significant to Tethys shareholders. Again from the gas perspective it will give Tethys access to international markets and higher prices. | tankerton
28/1/2025 12:20 | being a hub will provide Kaz with some transit fees, granted. But we all know where the money is for Tethys, Europe. | 1399peter
28/1/2025 11:24 | As noted in the article above, Russia sees the TAPI pipeline as a means to diversify it's gas away from Europe towards Asia. Kazakhstan forms a central hub for not only the TAPI but also other regional gas lines. The important thing as far as Tethys is concerned will be the ability to sell it's gas internationally as opposed to just it's local market and that will result in much higher gas prices being achieved. | tankerton
28/1/2025 11:14 | 'TAPI,sounds like a political nightmare. And has only been talked about the last 30yrs with no progress by the looks of it. Happy to be corrected' Work has already started. | tankerton
28/1/2025 10:31 | TAPI,sounds like a political nightmare. And has only been talked about the last 30yrs with no progress by the looks of it. Happy to be corrected. | 1399peter
28/1/2025 09:30 | Thank you tankerton, another great find. Hopefully the share price will se a rise today. | dr3dd
28/1/2025 09:04 | Kenges wants the full package including the gas if he wants to grow Tethys. He sees an opportunity to grow the business within the broader economic development within Kazakhstan. In relation to the gas, if the development in the following link goes ahead then it would mean much higher gas prices for Tethys. | tankerton
27/1/2025 13:34 | Good point Daz, You'd like to bloody well think so. Can't see our new investor wanting a fire sale of assets. | 1399peter
27/1/2025 13:27 | Further to the RNS from 31/5/24, is it safe to say that the sale of the gas fields for in excess $50m is now off the table | daz21
26/1/2025 12:59 | It is exciting when you look at the 20 year chart when all that was happening was jibber jabber....... Just goes to show how undervalued this stock is when everything they are doing is correct........ | dr3dd
26/1/2025 12:55 | Interestingly Tethys is the same price as it was 10 years ago..... Just goes to show how undervalued this stock is considering how close they are to world domination and how much has actually gone on positively for the company. | dr3dd
25/1/2025 06:06 | Yeah, I was thinking the same dr3dd. Obviously the buyers controlling the limit. Let's see if the next bit of news has something a bit more substantial | 1399peter
24/1/2025 20:24 | Bahamas - your post reminded me how huge the collapse in the share price was and prompted me to look back in my own records (needed for cgt losses...lol!) for those not in an ISA. High of 56.5p and low of 1.5p (all in "old" money) ie £5.65 and 15p adjusted for the consolidation. Incredible! Fortunately I averaged down quite a lot which looked a really foolish move for a long time. Actually well ahead now. | fbrj
24/1/2025 19:53 | I had all but given up on these but looks like they are finally coming back to life! | silax
24/1/2025 19:10 | He could indeed, remember him waxing lyrical about oil so sweet you could drink it! | ratfan
24/1/2025 19:04 | He could spin a yarn could Mr Robson | cutliff2
24/1/2025 18:59 | I remember buying some at around 50p after reading about the Tajikistan oil reserves the size of Switzerland! | ratfan
24/1/2025 18:33 | If you remember prior to the consolidation of the shares, we were trading on AIM at 53p for a share which equates to CAN$ 3.02 today. With the potential they seem to have now, they must be considered relatively cheap. Edit - 53p equates to £5.30/share or CAN$ 9.27 Fortunately I also bought at 5p | bahamasoil |
