Pope have been selling and buying smallish volumes throughout the years. Nothing unusual in that sense, certainly not significant enough to build assumptions around it.

The investment funds that I have been involved with incl closed funds do not buy or sell shares on behalf of their clients, the private investors.
Brokers act on behalf of clients and buy and sell for them.
I've never heard of this type of private investment fund !.
I will have a look at PAM and see how they operate !.
Casual,
The fact is that Bill Wells did buy 457k shares at $0.03 per share in Feb 17.
It is possible that Bill Wells bought an additional 457k in Feb 17 to offset the 480k he sold in Dec 16. Also he did convert debt to equity with 20m shares.
PAM/Wells now hold about 85m shares. Maybe PAM wanted to shut out Olisol at all costs.

hguess, private clients, he just manages their money. They all have different portfolio mixes to reflect their different needs. That isn't the point, the point is that Wells buys and sells shares that are owned by other private investors (sometimes) not necessarily him so take shares moving in and out under his name with a pinch of slat, it isn't necessarily Bill money, that was my point really.

Doesn't make sense to me. It's a pittance. If he had confidence then I'd hope he would get more shares than that......457K shares is about a fourth of my holding.....

Also, I would have thought the directors are in a closed period seeing as they are supposed to be in the midst of negotiations, no?

I thought an Investment Fund operates as follows:

- Private Investor invests cash in Investment Fund
- Investment Fund offers PI shares in Investment Fund
- Investment Fund then invests that cash in a number of companies
- Investment Fund then expects a ROI from the companies it invests in
- Investment Fund then decides to return cash to PI in the form of dividends and/or
return of capital

In the case of the 457k shares purchase in Feb 17, Bill Wells/PAM bought them as an investment in Tethys.
It could be a personal investment by Bill Wells himself or it could have been bought for PAM as he is the founder of PAM.
My perception is that the purchase could have been an indication of confidence in the future of Tethys !.
I hope this makes sense !.

hguess and TI, Bill runs an investment fund for private investors. If a private investor wants to sell shares to buy a car, he sells their shares, they are not all his personal shares, they are private individual clients that buy and sell for as many reasons as you and I do.

Sorry not to get back earlier, been messing about in HER to my (lucky) advantage, but would advise you or any else only to go there with eyes shut and fingers crossed!!
I will indeed be buying some more of this TPL starting on Friday, will bring my overall holding average down to about 13p.
Sort of in for a penny, in for 30K!!

Yes, you are right !.
Compared to what he has invested/lost like all of us !.
But, maybe it is an indication of a level of confidence in the future of TPL.
At least I hope so !.

In the scheme of things 457370 shares at .03 usd = pennies compared to what he has invested/lost, like all of us.

It could be for tax if the US tax year ends in Dec. If so the repurchase should take place in Jan.
Why wait until Feb to buy back at $0.03 ?.

On the other hand, it could be that by Feb, prospects for TPL were better compared to
Dec when the KAZ operations were shut down by bully boys of Olisol !.

Is there a significance related to the Wells purchase of 457,370 @ $0.030 on 14/17

Compare that to the sale of 237,370 and 250,000 on Dec 13/16 and 12/16.

You found this in the Canadian Insider website.

Am I reading too much in these transactions ?.

TI,
I would be very surprised if the banks take Tethys shares or warrants as collateral as these securities are at the bottom of the scale when repayment of debts become due. Banks normally lend money and demand repayment of interest and principal within an agreed time period.
So your idea is not really credible !.
My guess is that Tethys is in a complex negotiation process on rescheduling existing
loans and also aiming to get cash to fund its drilling plan.
We have to wait until all this is constructively settled, hopefully, soon !.
