30/1/2017 12:42 | Sorry, rail, yes it makes sense. Their used to be a very active "swap" trade with oil from Aktau to Iran, with sanctions easing that may be active once more (Iran has an oil deficit on the Caspian side of the mountains). The Tethys oil is trucked to the oil terminal which connects to the rail system. So oil has moved by rail really in the past. I don’t know how Olisol were selling the oil on. In any even the madness was always the Tethys failure to get permission to export oil, the net back was significantly higher. Either the management were incompetent or there was another agenda altogether. | naimanka74
30/1/2017 12:36 | It's very peculiar, no result from EGM, they really are not very good at all at communicating unless it's pertaining to their own issues/shares. Maybe we will get an update both on the vote and veracity of the article. | naimanka74
30/1/2017 12:18 | N74: Would you say rail from TPL's oil fields to Altyn Kyran's port terminal in Aktau is good also? As transport of the oil is the important thing of course rather than connections from their new head office. I see there is a rail connection from Aralsk to Aktau but no idea how feasible / how much economic sense it would make to ship the oil via rail to there. | casual47
30/1/2017 12:02 | N74: Roger. Thanks. | casual47
30/1/2017 11:59 | Wait a minute, are you two getting along? | temporarily insane
30/1/2017 11:59 | Yes, same name, different place. If you click on my link you will see how far apart they are. By rail (from the oil terminal) it looks ok hxxp://caravanistan. | naimanka74
30/1/2017 11:56 | I have sent the article to TPL and asked for their response to it. The article is making claims of illegal operations -- this is now public. We PIs cannot judge who is at fault here and the very least we deserve is clarity from the company of which we are shareholders. It does nobody any good to just cover your eyes and ears and go "lalalalala". | casual47
30/1/2017 11:50 | Interesting !. Now that Medgat Kumar is on the Tethys BOD, Olisol making attempts to undermine his credibility and discredit Tethys ?. Sounds like sour grapes from a company that tried to steal Tethys using its own unprofessional tactics !. | hguess16
30/1/2017 11:23 | N74: Are these different Aktaus/Aktobes then? | casual47
30/1/2017 11:16 | It's closer to 900km Casual, I would need to look at a railway map, to see how it works from the field terminal to Aktau. The Altyn group were close to the previous prime minister, pretty well connected and may now be the largest independent oil trader in Kazakhstan. I suppose if Olisol are correct then the board have misled both investors and regulators (no great surprise, as clearly the Kumars are not players in Kazakhstan), any idea what happened on Friday, bit strange there was no announcement? | naimanka74
30/1/2017 10:52 | Note that the "Aktau International Sea Commercial Port" is, in Kaz terms, virtually next door to TPL's new offices in Aktobe. (about 100km) Coincidence? I think not. | casual47
30/1/2017 10:48 | So, according to Olisol the Salzhanov family is behind at least one of the Kumars. This is what they do: * wholesale trading in oil products (export and import); * providing a range of transport and logistics services (including leasing out its own fleet of rolling stock); * building and operating a high-tech terminal for receiving, storage, and transshipment of oil products at the Aktau International Sea Commercial Port; * building and operating a modern rail car repair depot with facilities for steam cleaning and washing tanker cars and for storage of its fleet of rolling stock. | casual47
30/1/2017 08:49 | ^^^ They probably enjoyed celebrating a bit too much over in the US so they stayed for a long weekend at our expense and wont chuck out an RNS until this afternoon. Looking forward to this bunch doing something! | temporarily insane
30/1/2017 07:23 | No rush to get a RNS out then. | lfdkmp
29/1/2017 20:23 | Hope you're on the mend pal. All the best. | wrighty46
29/1/2017 19:32 | Dorset, Sorry to hear about your recent illness. I hope you are on the mend and I wish you a speedy recovery. Best wishes. | hguess16
29/1/2017 15:47 | Dorset64 Sorry to hear that, I hope you're on the mend now. Hopefully we will have some positive news tomorrow and get a better idea of what the plans are. "A major impact on the share price" wouldn't that be a good start to the week | 1399peter
29/1/2017 13:36 | I am hoping for news re the EGM before the market opens tomorrow morning !. Will be interesting to see how many voted in favour of both resolutions. Wonder if news of a proposed cash plan is announced by the BOD as it would have a major impact on the share price ?. | hguess16 |
