What's people's thoughts on where the share price is going? I'm sceptical that these recent highs will continue.. I would be very surprised if trading news was better than expected with all the shortages of supply/drivers leading to a conclusion to sell now and take the profit and maybe get back in before divi in November.

Is Tesco the next private equity takeover target? Grocer is 'most attractive', claim City analysts.
By Tom Witherow And Mark Shapland For The Daily Mail
UPDATED: 08:46 on 4 September 2021

Includes some interesting comments about Sainsbury's, which I agree with...

"Retail expert Andrew Busby added: 'Provided the appetite is large enough, it [a private equity takeover] would make a lot of sense. If you look at the top four, we know what happened with Asda, Morrisons is spoken for and I wouldn't touch Sainsbury's with a barge pole, so that only leaves Tesco.'"

"Shares in Sainsbury's jumped 15 per cent last week, however, after rumours that US firm Apollo was considering a bid, although the risks around its Argos and banking business are thought to be enough to put suitors off."

I think the American people are more likely to be happy that their boys/girls are taken out of harms way instead of trying to fight against a determined guerrilla army fighting for their own land.

No problem veneric, I probably took your comment the wrong way rather than in a light hearted way in which it was probably meant :) ...at least we are all well aware and informed here on E10 now! All over the news today of course but glad to have discussed the pros and cons here already. Re Tesco I guess they will still be selling a little more petrol as (marginally) less MPG for E10, and we all know that every little helps. :)

Another stealth tax dressing up as a cure for climate change

Another eco attack on the poor. Its mainly poorer people that have to run older cars. The Tory Greens won't be happy until everyone on a low income is forced back into agricultural serfdom

The Boris Johonson tax on nappies is really class war.. There is a price to pay for going green

It seemed absurd then, and it seems absurd now. For as with just about everything — from electric cars to heat pumps — there is a price to pay for going green. And this nappy tax idea is a classic case.

From Sue, London
Omg the torture of the stinky nappy bucket to sterilise them and then washing them and line drying. And the babies were always damp and had to wear those awful crackly plastic pants over them. Disposable nappies were a revelation. Surely with all our researchers and ingenuity they can come up with something recyclable? Maybe if they stop researching the bleeding obvious perhaps.

Just noticed that the extra 5% at 20% less efficiency would give the 1% overall reduction.

Hasn't the US had this fuel for a while? Just reading up on some classic owners sites.
Since 2010, nearly all gasoline sold in the United States has contained 10 percent ethanol apparently.

You've not been keeping up BH, it's been in the news for over two years that this was to happen, all to do with going green but it's a bit of a two edged sword, less polluting but you need twenty percent more of it to go the same distance.
Looks like veneric hasn't been keeping up either.
