Annoying today, lots of stuff just dumped on the shelves in the wrong place after being chosen.
Some woman wanted to know what the difference was between some rubber gloves (after asking if we had any without even bothering to look).
How the hell should I know ? Why doesn't she read the bloody box ?
Do I look like I'm an expert in protective appareil ?

And at the tills, don't hand me your clubcard, I don't want to touch it - its self-scan or hold it while I scan it.

Very busy today, we must be making some nice profit as less staff will be adding to margins.
Customers queueing and not moaning !
Boots on the other foot now, RED TEAM - er, no thanks I've got some shelves to fill.

There was a news piece about toilet rolls on tv last night where they visited corner shops then the wholesaler then the manufacturer, all said there's no shortage the factories are able to produce all that's needed and the wholesale warehouse was stuffed to the gills.

The only problem is idiots taking more than they need and causing localised shortages while stocks are in transit.

It's rather Ironic that it's the lowest paid who are expected to keep the country running and also to take the most risks.

Having said that, I suppose that's just been the way since time immemorial......

I did my fortnightly shop together with my elderly friend in my local Tesco yesterday, we got everything we went for including toilet rolls.(shelf had a label saying "only two packs per customer.")

Although there were some depleted shelves they all had 'some' stock, the only empty shelves were the eggs which we were told would be in later and likewise the paracetamol, neither of which we needed.

My son works for one of the majors they know where they've screwed up and are taking measures to improve. It has all happened very fast with poor advice but they are getting their act together even diverting head office staff to work in stores stacking shelves prioritising what resources they have, same with suppliers. Things should get better, from their own efforts and of course when the manic siege mentality buying eases.

Supermarkets are going to end up with no staff.

Staff are getting fearful, staff sickness will rise just to get out of what they rightly perceive as a danger zone. The supermarkets have handled it badly, though not helped by the government and media. it is their own fault.

Boris has just given supermarkets a boost, pubs restaurants and clubs virtually closed down, peeps will still have to eat and drink, it will be at home they've got no choice.

On topic, Tesco doing great again today in the face of complete and utter carnage.

Without doubt we're in one of the safest havens out there at the moment....

Ironically it would be far better and far easier to drop into Holland and Barrett for some Cod Liver Oil, multivitamins or B12 supplements.

Of course the majority carrying out the "panic buying" are complete and utter morons so that will all be totally lost on them......

People have gone completely insane.

I popped into Tesco to do my normal shop, Monday mornings as always the least busy time of the week.

I have never seen it so full.

The weekly supply of UHT milk came out and was left on its wooden pallet, with in 5 minutes 90% of it was gone.

When the pasta ran out, people looked behind them what they could buy, with in 1 minute all the jelly had gone. Sweets and chocolates were also going fast.

Oranges are also selling quickly when lemons are better as lemon oil boosts the immune system why there is 'lemsip, etc. Lemon, green tea which also boosts the immune system and a multi vitamin tablet for the Vit 'C'.

People are acting like its the BBC Survivors series of the 1970's when 99% of the population died of the virus.

Of course TESCO (or any other supermarket for that matter) won't be "closed down".

Honestly, are you stupid ??

The reality is that the Supermarkets are best placed to deal with this crisis as opposed to any of the other sectors.......

D Taliadoros,

"Don't know how you all feel about it, but I find the selfish nature of people that have gone out hoarding rather depressing."----Quite so . It is tantamount to stealing from others and ,ultimately, a waste of time.

Because they may shut the large supermarkets down on health and safety grounds. Rationing may be introduced to stop stockpiling
