My guess is though, that they might return. This is a stalwart, I think. |
I think that people that see value here will stay felch, but there are quite a few that have been directly affected by the budget positively so people might go into them at first instance for a quick buck.
30288. Funny how shares are applauded if they make profits...yet when it affects poster's buying habits, suddenly it's a no no! |
More to the point ... where's the Tesco share price going after Red Rachel's budget? |

As usual its unclear what you mean with all your generic comments and you don’t seem to have understood my post at all, which is as usual par for the course.
Its very clear Tesco is optimising its margins more than ever in its Express stores.
Maybe people think that’s all fair and dandy. I don’t. Especially when they bleat on in their marketing about helping people by stocking essentials and own label at lower prices. “Every little helps” - very funny - very hypocritical.
Hilarious that you should be making me aware that businesses have expenses amd overheads. Poor them.
So I guess in your book its ok for any business to just raise all their prices “because they’ve got costs”.
I don’t know why you post - it always seems to be only vaguely related to any topic raised. |
About time, budget got rid of minimum amount for shoplifting. |
'Lots of us!' How amusing.
If you want to blame anyone blame the multi billonaires...who are only people... who have too much, you could argue.
They have left ordinary folk literally quarreling over crumbs.

Yump that has always been the case for the corner shop.
Yes it does mean more profits per item but there are overheads. More buildings, deliveries, organisation, staff and so on. TSCO are doing well in a difficult environment! |
Ah a blue start! |
You have to pay for convenience stores,it’s in the name convenience |
Well lots of us are stopping shopping at Tesco Express. They are destocking own label and replacing with higher margin.
Tesco tartare sauce was 95p, I had to get Colmans today: £1.90, more than half the price of the bloody fish.
This has just started happening in the last month or so. No more Tesco bread at £1.05 - now its Warburtons at £1.55.
Feel sorry for those who can’t easily shop at main supermarkets and have to use local Express. Luckily for us there’s an Aldi very close so it will be just 65p for 25g more sauce.
There’s capitalism and then there’s exploitation of people who don’t have a choice. |
Interesting story philanderer,so the cost is an extra 200m£ for tescos employees to get a pay rise.
What is the benefit of tescos customers getting the pay rise.I would think they will continue to shop there. Therefore it will be a considerable net gain.
As a landlord although these are probably not my clients ,that will also push rents up and asset values up so likely a net gain for me too.As it has been in the past where the minimum wage has risen.
Also from a psychological point of view more money makes thes people feel more worthwhile.
Just a view I have.i am a likely buyer here .for once I actually sold at almost the top. |

An even bigger warning is to check your cash when withdrawing from a Tesco ATM. At least two people I know have been diddled (and the ATM had no receipts either!!) |
