29/1/2020 19:14 | Tern now has a genuinely diversified portfolio of investments in high growth companies, with each of its principal portfolio companies having a disruptive technology in a global market and they are all at very exciting stages of their respective developments. Furthermore, each of Tern's principal portfolio companies is working with world class partners to accelerate the adoption of their products which the Directors of Tern believe will provide significant prospective value enhancements. The Directors of Tern are confident that its portfolio companies will achieve further milestones during 2020, some of which may result in revaluations to the carrying values of investments and consequent increases in the net asset value ("NAV") of Tern. Management also continues to review new investment opportunities. | ![]() dave444

29/1/2020 16:57 | I am thinking that they will not sell their entire holding in DA, but more likely a 10% stake. This will give them a decent stake in a growth company that would be the cornerstone of their portfolio. It would also give them a legitimate reason for revaluing their stake in DA. A final benefit is that it would give them some much needed cash to invest in some other new companies. So, say 10% for £10m? | ![]() sdavis

29/1/2020 16:57 | Aside from driverless cars, regular car manufacturers are also feeling the force of digitisation. The average car now has 100 million lines of code which is equivalent to roughly 2 million pages of printed text. This number is expected to grow to as much as 1 billion lines of code as cars become more autonomous. Volkswagen considers the development of a software skilled workforce as a competitive edge in the industry. As a result, software engineers now outnumber mechanical engineers in the industry 3 to 1. Volkswagen's team of software engineers will be more than 10,000 people by 2025. | ![]() andrbea

29/1/2020 16:53 | Very interesting article on Tesla in the Telegraph a few weeks ago. The gist was that it was the keynote of Disruptive tech. What they have done was not recognised as the threat it has become by other Auto Giants. They could have bought Tesla for a flick of the pen. Now Tesla is the largest in the USA & on it's way to be perhaps the largest by share price value. The point being that other disruptive techs are out there now & can have the same effect on other industries. The big boys have to buy now or they are history. | ![]() haydock |
