Taking time off looking at the price, which we have had to do for days. along with endless e-mails.
When we join up the RNS & the report on Thales, we can see some of the significance of the size of this RNS.

Perhaps the man from the Evening Standard should be told, he might just understand the significance of the RNS, even if the mkt has really failed to appreciate just how big this really will be.

The healthcare
IoT security blueprint provides high-assurance device authentication,
managed end-to-end encryption, and certificate provisioning for IoT devices,
ideal for medical, industrial and other smart connected products.

According to the 2018 Thales Data Threat Report, the healthcare industry is
regularly targeted by cybercriminals with 70 per cent. of healthcare
organisations globally having experienced an attack. This solution is
designed to enable the Connected Health industry to continue to perform at
the highest levels without question on the integrity of data or medical
devices.

Now look at the size of Thales

Of course the mkt has also ignored the effects of their side of the story, when they release the news.
Sunday Newspaper timing.

Today's announcement is useful for DA in terms of getting their name out there, but there no numbers attached.

Thale have 400+ "partners".

Despite that, the RNS might help DA to attract funding at the $30m valuation that they have struggled at for so long. What I don't understand is why anyone would think that this justifies a 8 fold premium to NAV of 5p/share for TERN, however.

Sisto has an impossible job to meet expectations at this valuation, and anyone suggesting otherwise is being very irresponsible, IMHO.

Careful out there, fellas. It's a good day for those who've held on and a great day for those who've sold today. Anyone who has bought at these levels will get crushed eventually - it's basic common sense. Once the hot money goes (and it goes quickly), things don't look quite the same.

Tern Plc (AIM: TERN)

Device Authority Contract Win

Tern Plc (AIM:TERN), the investment company specialising in the Internet of Things (IoT), is pleased to announce that its investee company, Device Authority Limited ("Device Authority"), has signed a three year global OEM agreement ("the Agreement") with Comodo CA ("Comodo"), a global innovator and developer of cybersecurity solutions and a worldwide leader in digital certificates.
With more than 85 million desktop security software installations, 700,000 business customers and 8,000 global partners and affiliates, Comodo is building a new IoT security services platform ("the Platform") which will be powered by Device Authority's KeyScaler technology.

This agreement, which will see KeyScaler supporting Comodo's ambition to build on its position as one of the world's largest certificate authority organisation by expanding the traditional use of Public Key Infrastructure ("PKI"), provides further validation of the Device Authority's product suite.

The companies will work together to complete the integration of Keyscaler with the IoT Platform, before agreeing a launch date. Revenues are expected to be generated from 2018 and as this contract is based upon on a revenue share percentage between the companies, there is minimal financial commitment in the agreement. All sales of the integrated Platform will provide Device Authority with a royalty payment.

The Comodo Platform will be automated, and will allow PKI certificates to be managed throughout the entire lifecycle at volumes that can scale for the IoT market. It will deliver:
Enhanced PKI customer experience in ordering, tracking, receiving and injecting of certificates onto devices;
The ability to prevent cloning or counterfeiting either as a base service or in conjunction with use of TPM;
Post device deployment (aftermarket) credential management services;
'Retrofix' of old, insecure certificates or keys on the devices already deployed through a firmware upgrade procedure;
Code signing and secure update service; and
Integrity validation check service

Albert Sisto, CEO of Tern Plc, said:

"This contract win is very gratifying and is testament to the innovative nature of Device Authority's technology and platform. We are delighted to have such a significant investment in a Company which has the ability to solve important security and operational issues for IoT eco-systems, and we are excited about the access to market opportunities implied by this partnership with Comodo."

Tern shares soar as marketing of Thales/Device Authority IoT healthcare security blueprint commences

08:28 22 Jun 2018

Tern’s CEO, Al Sisto, said: "This clearly shows how DA can provide the level of IoT security required in healthcare/medical cases and is another step in expanding Tern's participation in the medical IoT market"

The AIM-listed tech specialist investment company, which has a 56.8% holding in the IoT security firm

Tern PLC (LON:TERN) shares soared over 20% higher in early trade on Friday after it revealed that preliminary marketing of Thales' healthcare Internet of Things (IoT) security blueprint, developed in conjunction with investee firm Device Authority (DA) has commenced.

The AIM-listed tech specialist investment company, which has a 56.8% holding in the IoT security firm, said this represents a significant milestone for DA following the formation of its strategic partnership with France’s Thales Group announced on 24 January 2018.

It added that the healthcare IoT security blueprint provides high-assurance device authentication, managed end-to-end encryption, and certificate provisioning for IoT devices, ideal for medical, industrial and other smart connected products.

The group noted that, according to the 2018 Thales Data Threat Report, the healthcare industry is regularly targeted by cybercriminals with 70% of healthcare organisations globally having experienced an attack.

This solution is designed to enable the Connected Health industry to continue to perform at the highest levels without question on the integrity of data or medical devices.

Tern’s CEO, Al Sisto, said: "We are delighted to have been advised that Thales and DA have further strengthened their strategic partnership with the issue of this joint blueprint.

“This clearly shows how DA can provide the level of IoT security required in healthcare/medical cases and is another step in expanding Tern's participation in the medical IoT markets via its portfolio investee companies to create shareholder value."

In early morning trading, Tern shares were 20.3% higher at 38.5p.

As Johnma asked earler today, what value are DA to Thales now?

DA is an integral part of the future of Thales.

Would Thales be happy with DA being independent and working with/for other companies?

Worse still, would Thales be happy if DA were owned by Comodo, Intel or Symantec?

How much would it take to ensure an offer was gleefully grabbed with both hands?

Chronologically, we were at 57p
then the shorters saw that 11m valuation figure (Dec 2017) and swooped down on it
Like vultures, they got the share price down to 28p

But what's changed ?
Nothing really...
They attacked a historical valuation, normal service is now resumed
... with a whopping Thales alliance, with more verticals possible with them in the future.
