Azure platform:

US-based mapping start-up Mapbox has partnered with Microsoft, Intel, and Softbank Group to provide maps for self-driving cars.

Mapbox provides the underlying maps in other apps like Snapchat and Instacart rather than the app itself.

the good thing about the launches will be it's globals doing the promotion, therefore more likely to catch the media and industry attention..

this has not happened so far for Tern/DA, Stage 3 underway now..

Just to manage expectations here, June 30 is the end of Tern's half year and the date on which the company has said it will next review the valuation of its investee companies. The interim results and accompanying statement reporting these valuations will follow sometime later i.e. not on June 30.



All manner of other RNSs, new investments, partnerships, products etc could be announced in June of course...

Mobile & IoT

The collaboration between Gemalto and Qualcomm will see the technology integrated into the Snapdragon mobile PC platform’s Secure Processing Unit. In a statement announcing the partnership, Gemalto said it “will provide seamless LTE and forthcoming 5G connection, extended battery life, and a foundation for consumer applications such as online payments, transport ticketing and authentication to cloud services.”

And it looks like this could just be the start of a more wide-ranging collaboration, with Mobile and IoT EVP Frédéric Vasnier explaining that the partnership will accelerate the adoption of cellular connectivity “in PCs, tablets and other mobile products,” adding, “We are committed to continued innovation with Qualcomm Technologies in order to provide superior built-in security and connectivity experiences.”

In the meantime, the first fruits of this partnership will emerge in the form of new PC products as early as next year, Gemalto says.
