17/11/2006 16:02 | Yes, BF2, remember the H1 results, where the statements were upbeat, the numbers pretty poor - and obscure, too. Also, we just don't know what's been achieved by Cassydora/Smyth. But from the latest RNS, all is not as planned, I feel. Perhaps 'open' would be a better description of my concerns than 'straight'. | jonwig
17/11/2006 15:56 | Jon, may I ask what caused this remark ? "My main concern is how 'straight' they will be with shareholders." | blindfaith2
16/11/2006 17:02 | whynot - they've said twice now that results will be broadly in line with expectations, the last time less than a month ago. My main concern is how 'straight' they will be with shareholders. | jonwig
16/11/2006 16:38 | If the results were going to be good every effort would have been made to get them out early - I fear disappointment again for we shareholders - December 1st to beat - date of last years results | whynot3
03/11/2006 09:04 | Come on TEL, let's be having the results. Its over 3 months since the year end! | stemis
01/11/2006 17:14 | Blimey, Blank you are more illusive than Lord Lucan ! Oh and BTW your return has caused the price to reverse its upward trend | blindfaith2
01/11/2006 07:35 | LOL - I assumed it was suspended while you weren't posting. | jonwig
31/10/2006 20:17 | Happy Halloween to everyone ... or should I say happy 'Telloween', because TEL's progress is frighteningly good at the moment. No prizes for guessing whether this share is a 'trick' or a 'treat' ... at the moment it looks almost good enough to eat! B.F. | blank frank
30/10/2006 19:10 | I would like to suggest FJN... share price 62.5p (mid) forecast pe 6.7, epsg 26% dyor... director buying 17th oct, chartwise looks about ready to break out of long term downtrend. maxi :-) | maximoney1
26/10/2006 08:57 | I wonder if RED is going to be at the top of the league table next month. At the moment the share price is gradually moving up. Looks like Shares Mag might be right that it's going to be a Super Share. Results are next month and should show a good improvement imo, as the many acquisitions over the past two years pays off, the company is now in a much stronger position in the telecom market. As always DYOR! | roma77
24/10/2006 07:18 | SIN probably going to have another good day with a director buying shares at 44p after Lord Young's Million + purchase announced Friday. Prospective eps of 5.9p must be gaining more credibility by the day. | outsider
23/10/2006 15:00 | Sorry 2LB as I'm not a premuim member so I can't moderate. I agree he's a nuisance, I have just filtered him. | outsider
23/10/2006 14:56 | Yep - SIN looking good Outsider. PS - can you do something about "The Crypt" on ADA please? | 2lb
23/10/2006 14:55 | price now 41-4 propsective p/e on broker f/c still only 7 | outsider
23/10/2006 10:22 | Jon / Kim thanks, so maybe they can pay divi's from current year profits and ignore the brought forward losses, hm........ alternatively writing off losses to the share capital account seems a little extreme. I wonder why the hurry to pay a dividend as I would have thought that given a full sail the company was still a couple of years away from this. The other thing that springs to mind is that any dividend would be so small ( by that I mean to each shareholder ) that I'd rather let the company keep it and invest the money as working capital for further growth as that's what's needed here. Only a personal thought, but I guess a dividend to me would be around the £20 mark, which is always nice to receive I know, but I think that with all our 20 quids together this could move the company on at a faster rate. | blindfaith2
22/10/2006 10:32 | On Friday @ 4.28pm it's annouced that Lord Young (Non ex Chairman) buys 1,153,846 shares at 39p in SIN when the price is 35-9 huge vote of confidence imo. | outsider
21/10/2006 10:53 | Some information of ability to pay a dividend: Distributable Reserves - Retained Income (Retained Profit) A company has no profit when it first begins, only the ordinary Share Capital provided by the shareholders. A profit (or loss) can only be made after the company has been trading or rendering service for a period. Retained Income (sometimes called unappropriated profit) is transferred from the Income Statement to the Balance Sheet as a distributable reserve. These funds can be distributed to shareholders in the form of dividends, ie the shareholders will receive a share of the profits. If a company makes a loss in any financial year, they may still wish to give the shareholders a dividend. They can use the retained income from previous years, that has been accumulated and held as Distributable Reserves. This corroborates it - or does it?? It appears to suggest profits in the relevant year can be used, irrespective of deficit from previous years: Dividends can be paid only out of profits for the year, or any undistributed profits from previous years. And this, noting that TEL has just undergone a capital reduction: There are a number of reasons why a company may wish to reduce its share capital. Probably the most common one is to eliminate accumulated losses which would otherwise prevent a company from having the distributable profits available to declare a dividend. | jonwig
20/10/2006 21:39 | BF must be on his holidays !!!!! some good news for him to get back to. | tenapen
20/10/2006 19:29 | I believe they can get it adjusted with a High Court order. Either that or profits will be so large it isn't a problem. I think I can guess which. | kimboy2
20/10/2006 18:52 | BF2 - I used to think the same, but IDN started paying dividends when it had a balance sheet deficit on its PL account, so I changed my mind - and couldn't find anything in company law to resolve it. | jonwig
20/10/2006 18:44 | Extract: "Current Operations 2006 trading is broadly in line with market expectations and it is the Board's intention to continue to pursue their strategy of combining organic growth with selective earnings enhancing acquisitions. The Board of Directors expects to be in a position to commence the payment of dividends during the current financial year." I thought, although I must be wrong, that a company could not start paying dividends until it showed an accumulative profit. The Interims to 31 January'06 showed an accumulative Profit & Loss Account on the Balance Sheet of negative £2,089K so I am a little perplexed how a dividend can be expected to be paid during the year to 31 July '07 without first clearing this. I'd be grateful if one of you more knowledgeable posters would put me right on this one please, thanks | blindfaith2
20/10/2006 12:32 | I'm quite impressed! Datatel acquisition looks the kind of thing their strategy was supposed to be targeting; they have special, complementary skills, and no geographical overlap. Cassydora will, it seems, be delivering some contracts after all. Though the concept will fold, as ES seems to be devoting his time elsewhere. Did he walk, or was he pushed? Reiteration of results to July 2006 broadly in line. Dividends expected in year to July 2007 - so they must be confident of year to date (a quarter of it gone already). Considering the share price has still not even approached 2p in 'old money', there's a case for buying more of these. Hum --- need to think a bit more about that! | jonwig
20/10/2006 10:10 | I have the wooden spoon already with VIC, ouch | tenapen
19/10/2006 10:03 | Cor Blimey a right old sort out here then, acquistion, change of Directors, placing, shares being given back, dividends hm....... is that it, more going on here than a week in Albert Square. Looking forward to a little more time to digest all this. | blindfaith2 |
