29/9/2006 20:56 | Spiritel for me please even after todays rise it still has far to go. | lgw
29/9/2006 19:10 | Tower (TWR) has trebled to 1.875p since early August, after heavy falls:- Ttp Communications (TTC) is another recent rebounder. On 1st. June 2006, it more than trebled from 13.0p to 43.75p in a single day, due to a takeover offer:- 01/06/2006 07:06 UKREG Preliminary Results and Offer These help to show that shares in telecommunications equipment companies can rebound fast. And the same can apply to other telecommunications (sub) sectors too of course. B.F. | blank frank
29/9/2006 18:23 | Thanks for your entry Corrientes, of FTS (F.T.S-Formula Telecom Solutions Ltd). I've put FTS in the table at an entry price of 37.5p, its closing mid price yesterday. B.F. P.S. Philjeans - would you like to enter MBT (Mobile Tornado)? If so, please let me know by the end of tomorrow. Ditto re. any more entries from anyone else. Thanks. | blank frank
28/9/2006 19:14 | There appear to be six other UK listed telecom shares starting with Tel ... though only one has that exclusive TEL ticker (I wonder if some of the others are a tad envious? ... especially ex Marconi Telent since its name change this January). Just for fun, I will briefly compare their price charts for the last two years (where available) with TEL's:- Telephone Maintenance Group PLC (TEL, LSE). Telecom plus PLC (TEP, LSE). Telent PLC (TLNT, LSE). Telephonetics PLC (TPH, LSE). Teleunit SpA (TLU, LSE). Telit Communications PLC (TCM, LSE). Telspec PLC (TSP, LSE). Closing mid price 28.9.06, and approximate* % change over two years or since listing if later:- TEL 75.0p -62.5% TEP 142.5P -49.6% TLNT 504.0p -14.9% TPH 20.5p -59.0% TLU 4.75P -80.6% TCM 32.5P -78.2 TSP 6.125P -51.4% [Average: -56.6%] Using TEL's IPO price (175p) instead of its first day close of 200p, and the figures are:- TEL 75.0p -57.14% [Average: -55.8%] *Except for TEL, the old prices used are BigCharts opening prices for 29.9.04, which are the closest (re. date) to those 28.9.04 closing prices I can find. TEL's old price is what I believe its actual closing mid price on 28.9.04. [N.B. All TEL's share prices have been adjusted as necessary for TEL's 50 into 1 share price consolidation last month.] B.F. | blank frank

EXPECTED TIMETABLE OF PRINCIPAL EVENTS Admission effective and dealings in Ordinary Shares commence on AIM 28 September 2004 ..." Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear TEL, Happy Birthday to you. For a brief overview of TEL's last two years, please see my following post: Blank Frank - 6 Sep'06 - 20:44 - 12 of 46 B.F. | blank frank
28/9/2006 18:31 | Thanks for the TSP entry Sharegod. Though when you said "Go on then Ill have TSP" I thought for a moment that you might suffer from spots ... then I realised that I was thinking of something different! I've entered your TSP tip at 6.125p, its closing mid price today. B.F. | blank frank
28/9/2006 18:06 | In fact with peter gylehammer investing and duncan soukup coming onto the board after the egm 6th oct and with cash of 3mill against mkt cap of 2.5mill looks like a bagger. | sharegod
28/9/2006 17:58 | Go on then Ill have TSP (telspec) at 6.25 . | sharegod
28/9/2006 14:18 | ITL breaking out next stop 50p over the coming weeks, still say their will be a bid for this company soon | thinkbig?
27/9/2006 20:34 | Is there nothing else that tickles your fancy Sharegod? B.F. | blank frank
27/9/2006 20:28 | mines idn but someone already has that. | sharegod
27/9/2006 20:22 | Just a reminder that there are only three more days to get your entries in by the 30th. September deadline ... late entries will not be accepted! Up to three positive tips are allowed per poster. B.F. | blank frank
27/9/2006 20:03 | SHAREGOD - 27 Sep'06 - 16:49 - 56 of 58 "Thanks for the info guys .It seems that with the exception of pxc over the last few years the trend for telcos has been downward or at best flat hopefully this will change soon." The old FTSE 350 UK FTSE 350 Telecommunication Services Index is available as an ADVFN four and a quarter year chart (up until the start of this year when it was split into fixed and mobile):- The chart actually looks quite bullish to me: an overall trend gently upwards. The "Investors Chronicle" on Friday 22nd. September tipped BT Group as a buy. In line with the convergence between telecoms and IT, BT aims to continue its global expansion, and is becoming a world market leader. B.F. | blank frank
27/9/2006 18:28 | Thanks for that info. philjeans - looks interesting. You can certainly have MBT (Mobile Tornado) as an entry, if you wish. ITO itself looks largely computer services, where it is classified. Its share in MBO will be worth £4.4M. at MBO's current mid price of 5.5p, whereas ITO's market cap. is over £50M. I'm afraid therefore that ITO can't be accepted as an entry. Sorry about that. B.F. P.S. You could of course launch a 'sister' thread to this one for computer shares. | blank frank
27/9/2006 17:46 | ITO - Intechnology PLC - Not sure if this one qualifies, 'cos its an IT company really - data storage and services mainly but it has a telco arm and this week bought a 43% share in Mobile Tornado, PLC , a small distressed AIM stock (for chicken feed!) It's very well hidden and unloved but will move up quickly if enough of us discover it's large cash pile,; sale of it's lossmaking european division for cash and improving sales and margins of the rest of the business based in UK. Now well managed and more sharply focussed, I think ITO will go to £1 in six months. | philjeans
27/9/2006 16:49 | Thanks for the info guys .It seems that with the exception of pxc over the last few years the trend for telcos has been downward or at best flat hopefully this will change soon. | sharegod
27/9/2006 12:33 | Looks like the seller has been cleared out of ITL,nice buying has started as well plenty of AT trades and L2 has turned very positive | thinkbig?
25/9/2006 20:25 | frank,i must keep up!....lol | stucom
25/9/2006 20:22 | The FTSE 350 Technology Hardware & Equipment Index is available as a five year chart, which may bring back some sad memories (or happy ones for shorters) from 2002, when the index declined by about 90%:- | blank frank
25/9/2006 20:07 | stucom - 25 Sep'06 - 19:55 - 49 of 50 "actually,just looked at ftse 350 telco chart (UB67)and it's flatlining!....lol" Stucom, I think that index was discontinued, being replaced with the current fixed line and mobile indexes. B.F. | blank frank
25/9/2006 20:00 | These seem to be the three most relevant indexes that I can find, although they exclude smaller companies:- FTSE 350 Fixed Line Telecommunications Index FTSE 350 Mobile Telecommunications Index FTSE 350 Technology Hardware & Equipment Index I people think that they are useful, I could add them to the first post of this thread.
