04/9/2006 12:55 | SteMiS, I've been reading the information about Invox, and - yes - it appears there were leaks, but from what I can see, the directors were far from innocent in the matter. I won't make judgements about t1ps.com just yet, as I don't know enough about how they operate. As far as a league table of prolific posters goes, I can point to many boards where quality and quantity are inversely related... | jonwig

03/9/2006 22:29 | The problem with the likes of t1ps is that its followers blindly follow them in.......and then blindly follow them out. I'd rather the share price rose on the back of a decent performance from TEL (sustainable) than a load of ramping from some bulletin board hypster (unsustainable). I certainly hope TEL are robust in their dealings with the likes of t1ps. As I'm sure Kimboy for one recalls, there was a strong rumour that t1ps were advising its subscribers that Invox were going to miss their profit forecast 10 days before Invox put out a profit forecast to the market. I make no comment on how that might occur. | stemis

03/9/2006 17:21 | In my opinion someone putting TEL onto a 'watch & wait' list now may end up very frustrated ... B.F. | blank frank
03/9/2006 17:13 | No ..... I agree as it did no favours to ASHP a few weeks ago. But i guess you could always be possitive and say that a tip for a company brings it to the attension of others who may put it on thier watch list !. | tenapen
03/9/2006 17:10 | I note that the UK-Analyst service apparently includes:- "a hot tip a day sent direct to your email" - each working day that is. Presumably about 250 tips a year are provided. The site claims that:- "These tips are moving markets regularly". However, even with a few thousand shares to choose from, it's probably hard to identify that many with a great chance of becoming outstanding long term investments. Some of the tips provided may be more in the nature of short term trading opportunities. Hopefully intelligent investors will recognise TEL's credentials as a cracking little growth company, and invest accordingly into this quite stunning tiddler. At the moment, many investors may scarcely even be aware of TEL's existence. I feel confident that if these investors take a look, many of them will like what they see. B.F. | blank frank
03/9/2006 16:40 | Do UK-Analyst tips generally have much of an impact upon the share price? No ... if only because they are delayed from the subscription e-mails, when the first effect can - as we've seen - be quite marked.. But, of course, sometimes the 'tip effect' retraces, in which case a second leg might be possible. | jonwig
03/9/2006 15:28 | Thanks Jonwig. I look forward to receiving news on that in due course. Do UK-Analyst tips generally have much of an impact upon the share price? The tip of TEL last Thursday was followed by a 10p rise in (under) two days, from 59p mid to 69p mid. Another 10p rise from another tip would be nice. B.F. | blank frank
03/9/2006 08:13 | Thanks B.F. In that case, I'll be getting a free e-mail from UK-Analyst in the next week or so, with the tip repeated there. In case you don't know them, UK-Analyst is a free service which sends quite a witty end-of-day e-mail and occasional detailed tips. Of course, much of the e-mail consists of promoting the subscription sites. | jonwig

01/9/2006 18:31 | This table came from Barclays and may or may not be actuate but I've not come across too many discrepancies from them in the past. " Blindfaith2 - 1 Sep'06 - 13:20 - 681 of 686 BF - Whets even more interesting is that most of today's flurry of transactions are sells, yet as you say the share price has gone up ! 09:12 69.00p 5,000 £3,450 Sell 10:28 66.50p 2,000 £1,330 Sell 08:24 65.66p 3,174 £2,084 Sell 09:00 69.23p 2,000 £1,385 Buy 08:59 65.00p 2,250 £1,462 Sell 08:40 65.00p 1,500 £975 Sell 08:04 65.00p 1,000 £650 Sell" | blindfaith2
01/9/2006 16:20 | CURRYP - thanks, I guessed they'd been tipped somewhere. I'd guess the recommendation referred to broker forecasts for the year just ended: there was quite a bit of discussion here about these. Yes, I'm aware of how trades are logged - the LSE doesn't report buy/sell. | jonwig
01/9/2006 16:17 | the advantage of the afore mentioned site means that in due course, one could hazzard a guess that other sites, asociated with the first site may also mention TEL, such that a wider audience can benefit, but obviously the first in on the original mention benefit the most!... and quite rightly so, as one needs to cover ones 'hefty' subs bill!... which i should also mention that in my case, the subs were covered very quickly on the first and second recomendation. | currypasty
01/9/2006 16:14 | jon, i subscribe to a website, which said they were a rather good buy...lol ps, just because advfn software puts the trades in the buy/sell column, according to the mid-price... doesnt mean they are 100% accurate.. the advfn is only a best guess... for example, id guess the 5k was a buy, at 69 | currypasty

01/9/2006 13:37 | There might still be some delayed buys to show: nms being low, etc. CURRYP - are you telling us you know why it went up yesterday pm ...? Go on, now that you're in - you know it makes sense. | jonwig
