29/9/2017 15:23 | Hmm, this is a tough call. Looks like a slam dunk short but weary of what the Chinese are up to. IMG fell sharply following their Apple news but rather than muddling on, the Chinese pounced...they appear to be supporting this one as well and holding the share price up. Wouldn't be surprised if they are brokering a deal with Oozi behind the scenes and once they have his shares, maybe we'll see their true intentions? On the business, this is key: 'The departure of Mr Cats has also triggered a review of Telit’s operations as it looks to trim costs and refocus the company. The company is expected to pull back significantly on research and development spending to focus on its core technology.' We now get to see how flexible the capitalised R&D spend is ! Usually smoke and mirrors with these businesses (don't focus on EBITDA!!) and my feeling is that this spend is required every year to keep the core business competitive. So, can they streamline the cost base and reduce R&D to turn it into a cash machine (without jeapoardising too much future growth of course). My feeling is the proof will be in the pudding. | twistednik

29/9/2017 13:44 | I have a friend traveling to South Korea for a business meeting on Monday, much more worthy of cancelling IMO. A few demonstrations in Barcelona does not stop the world from turning. | senor_sensible
29/9/2017 13:09 | cancelling the meeting makes some sense - there is a bitter dispute going on in Barcelona and i suspect that things will unfortunately get ugly....however it does not detract from the view that what is going on at Telit is a facrce, and also teh AIM (lack of) authorities - someone can build up a 15% stake without any disclosure... | savagedstock

29/9/2017 10:17 | Dear Telit IoT Innovation Summit Sponsors & Attendees, We regret to inform you that Telit is canceling the Telit IoT Innovation Summit, October 2 in Barcelona. We have reason to believe that the upcoming Catalan independence referendum vote that is scheduled for October 1 will significantly disrupt business on October 2 in Barcelona. We are concerned about the transportation and security during the days leading up to, and on October 2 for all Telit employees and guests of the event. This was a difficult decision for Telit management, but we felt it was in the best interest of all involved. A full refund to all registrants, and sponsors will be made immediately. We apologize for the inconvenience this might have caused, and look forward to hosting similar events soon. Telit is still committed to the IOTSWC and we look forward to seeing you there later in the week. Please contact Amanda Flink with any questions. Regards, Shawn Reynolds CMO | max1904
