14/11/2017 17:13 | And you can which academic jargon you want, to me momentum means as in physics ” the strength or force that something has when it is moving” whether it is going up or down. Features include ie. velocity (steep of proce curve), strength (trading volumes).. | swisslog
14/11/2017 16:49 | Momentum in the academic literature is usually defined as the medium term performance = last 12 months return minus the current month. This would be about -40% for Telit. Momentum is not some TA factor you can choose to interpret whichever way your position is. The studies on real data show prices on average continue in the direction they have been going in the medium term (6 months - 1 year) but in the reverse to their very short term (1 month) or very long term (3 years +). Stockopedia Momentum Rank for Telit is 4th percentile. Telit very definitely isn't a momentum stock. | dangersimpson2
14/11/2017 16:35 | Just had to close my short as the shares have been called in. This usually only happens when the true owner wishes to sell. | bwakem
14/11/2017 16:32 | As I wrote: ”Consolidation day(s) after a huge rally.” Momentum is still there, not wiped away over night or we are discussing different thing with Devon. | swisslog
14/11/2017 15:22 | I thought wiseacre's post covered this: "Telit expects to publish its routine Q3 trading statement in mid November 2017. That's all we know officially according to release on 28 September" Was there an official announcement that contradicts this? | frazboy
14/11/2017 14:53 | Down over 3% today, not sure that is great momentum. Supposed to publish interims today, where are they? They can put an RNS out about press speculation though! | devonlad
14/11/2017 11:00 | It is not a right question to me. You should have both in your portfolio IF you think purest IoT shares are worth of investing instead of those giants where IoT is only fraction of the revenues. I just say, momentum is right now there in Telit instead of Sierra and balancing one’s IoT portfolio accordingly is a smart move. Given recent news (whispers on the street) and company’s size it is easy to take over with some premium. And when it has raised balance the portfolio again. | swisslog
14/11/2017 10:12 | So, it wasn't another Telegraph exclusive, no news from the company today, so far. A question for the bulls, why, given the choice of this company and, say, Sierra Wireless, wouldn't you plump for the latter? The latter has: $70m cash in bank ~$750m turnover $630m market cap (so, enterprise value of $560m) By means of comparison Telt has $10m net debt $390m turnover $325m market cap (so enterprise value of $335m) in short, you can buy turnover more cheaply at Sierra Wireless, it has no cash flow issues for the forseeable turnover, it employs roughly the same amount of staff to generate that turnover, it has no corporate governance issues that I'm aware of, and the FCA (or Canadian equivalent of) isn't making polite enquiries with the company, and the first contact on the company's press releases isn't the company's lawyer (as noted by the FT alphaville yesterday - I hadn't noticed). What makes Telit worth paying a premium for? | frazboy
14/11/2017 10:07 | Discussions when reported are official and the Buyer/bidder has presented merits matching regulators’ requirements. Hearing unofficial leaks nor reading news from papers does not give reasons for reporting for the company. However, the latter does not mean, there wouldnt be something cooking. Consolidation day(s) after a huge rally. Opportunity to see if the levels are supportive and fill the portfolio more. Reducing shorts means less short squeezing in the future? What do hawkish boys say since shorts have been a sign of weakness for them? This can be seen they have lost a fight maybe a war. | swisslog
13/11/2017 17:16 | Hi all, regarding my recrent post "trading update tomorrow tuesday": very much sorry, I fogot the link www.telegraph.co.uk/ | a_fish1
13/11/2017 14:42 | Whoever was shorting this must feel pretty gutted right now. Looks like it is soaring. Just shows that nobody really knows what the market will do. | stevedevuk
13/11/2017 13:42 | Telit expects to publish its routine Q3 trading statement in mid November 2017. That's all we know officially according to release on 28 September | wiseacre

13/11/2017 12:06 | "Trading update on Tuesday November 14, 8 a.m." Andy, where did you get your information? | frazboy
13/11/2017 09:27 | Notice how the company responds to confirm press reports of discussions with a potential chairman but not the press reports of a HK takeover. Means the company has had no ongoing discussions with any parties re:takeover or they would be forced to disclose it. | dangersimpson2

12/11/2017 10:18 | I notice Leucadia have closed their short. TBH, I dont reckon a lot of these positions are going to make money, I think they just followed each other in. | owenski
10/11/2017 19:21 | Current shorts @ 10.29%, that's come down quite a bit from the fairly recent over 13% positions. Still a decent business here, but PI's unlikely to benefit after all the fun and games. | owenski
10/11/2017 19:03 | The naive young market reporter at the DT has been badly misled. Have taken the opportunity to increase my short taken out at 480p. There is something rotten in the state of Denmark. The dreamers will choke a darkie! | wiseacre
10/11/2017 15:01 | lol If your first post is long on TCM, it doesn't really bode well! | devonlad
