18/8/2017 15:56 | Thanks fraz. Think the plan was 500,000 model 3 in 2018 with 1,000,000 in 2020 but intake the point that it might be small beer overall. | blusteradjuster

18/8/2017 13:36 | No, I've no idea what they are supplying to Tesla; I'm not sure they say anywhere. | hpcg
18/8/2017 13:28 | I had been wondering about the Tesla deal - forecasts for the Model 3 are for around 250,000 units next year, perhaps 100,000 this year (really crude numbers). If each has a Telit Module, then what revenue will they get from this? I would estimate around $20 to $30 per chip but I have no real clue. Even assuming $50 per module, that's only $12.5m of revenue from Tesla next year, and perhaps $5m of gross profit (40% Gross Margin?). Buttons, really. | frazboy
18/8/2017 13:22 | Hpcg, Do you have any info regarding their Model 3 supply deal? I know you're not a fan of TSLA stock...but it is a hugely disruptive piece of kit. | blusteradjuster
18/8/2017 12:17 | josephmanna - no the big drop was caused by the interim announcement where YoY figures were down, and the money supposedly raised for acquisitions was used to strengthen the balance sheet. The CEO departure added a somewhat smaller kick down subsequently. So at best the company has negative growth and should thus be valued at low multiples, and the worse scenarios would mean even lower value than that. | hpcg

18/8/2017 10:50 | Book looked reasonably balanced when I checked this morning, so I agree pediment this will slowly work lower until next real news. HOLTS, yes a Globo scenario is not out of the question though at the moment it doesn't look as extreme. Globo raised expensive debt despite reporting cash on the balance sheet whilst Telit are not pretending to have money. However it doesn't need to be blatant fraud for shareholder equity to be written down; the exec team is allowed to make bad deals for example. I'll say again though, we don't have to imagine up worst case scenarios because the company is telling us it is trading cash negative and if that continues it must raise money. The covenanted debt provides a mechanism for a sudden denouement. If that is called then what happens next depends on how supportive institutions are. As a reminder from the placing RNS "The Placing is expected to settle on 10 May 2017, subject to Admission. Following completion of the transaction the Company has agreed to a lock-up of 180 days", so those institutions are going to be livid. | hpcg
