Amidst all the negative bile being put out by the likes of Smith, it is easy to overlook the fact that TEP still owns a 20% stake in Opus Energy. I am not saying there is any connection but it is interesting that their blog is carrying the story about the tidal power lagoon in Swansea Bay.I really think and hope that TEP is well up with renewables, particularly solar which is tumbling down in price and likely to be the future.

I don't profess to understand financials since they're couched in terms designed to confuse the unininitiated, however, TEP's income appears to be steadily/modestly rising but it's debt position has increased significantly for reasons I can't make out. There seems to be a large share float too. Wonder if it's turnroundable?

yes the sudden relentless posts by psmith were a bit of a clue that he was just scaremongering in the run up to the election

glad calm has been restored to the board here

I wonder if the chart guru could tell us when and if the share price breaks out of the downtrend. he has been pretty accurate so far.

Hope nobody here allowed psmith to scare them out of their shares, remember he told us these were heading for under 7 pounds. Anyone who follow is advice and shorted around 8 pounds will have been burnt.

Andy

Just interested to see what they said as I think it was a buy rec. Don't think I know very much!

---

I don't think they do either!

we probably know more!

Think about it, a journo writes about 10 or 20 companies a week, every week, year in year out, in diverse industries.

How can he know all these companies inside out?

Or does he just get fed PR BS to regurgitate as a news article! :-)

Smithy, you fail to state that the £8 million investment from the USA was made by Al Gore lol. IMO companies like OVO and F:U basically back up my belief that what TEP is doing is right - there's no profit (or future?) in aggressively accumulating customers by cutting prices to the bone. Unless they are hoping to be taken out by one of the Big 6 at some stage in the future? Then we are back to Square One...all rather depressing.

I guess OVO's USP's are they pay interest of 3% on credit balances and also they are very competitive hence they seem to be growing quickly.

As a non listed company at the present time profit is not their driving force in this initial growth phase.

After a recent £ 8 million investment from the USA it is rumoured they are preparing for a dilation in the near future.

There is obviously a market for what TEP are doing but the growth is going to be a lot slower IMHO going forward and as the competition increases bottom line will come under pressure I as prices will need to fall in time.

The next 12 months is quite critical and as it unfolds we will see if today's share price is right or not.

I suspect it has further fall yet as we need to see if the forecasts are correct and we won't know that for another 12 month's.

Didnt Ovo make a loss in 2014?

What is Ovo's USP?

I neither know, nor care.
