---- Belluscura have had other Patents published which could be soon granted ---- BOTH of these patents could/would use the Belluscura portable oxygen concentrator (POC) which was just recently granted USA 510(K) approval ie they are win/wins in that one recently approved device enhances another new invention for other Hospial applications One new patent if granted , should open a whole new range of Hospital ICU and O.R options , the patent was titled : Integrated extracorporeal oxygenation and co2 removal with ventilation system It was published 2020-08-13 hTtps://patents.google.com/patent/WO2020163596A1/en?assignee=belluscura&oq=belluscura#legalEvents Another patent was titled: Systems and methods for improving patient recovery postoperatively It was published 2020-03-19 hTtps://patents.google.com/patent/WO2020055933A1/en?assignee=belluscura&oq=belluscura This patent incorporates a Level of Consciousness (LOC) monitoring capability based upon a previous patent acquired by TEK/Belluscura from USA company Stryker called : 'Snap II Level of Consciousness Monitor distributed by Stryker Corporation and as further described and claimed in ETS Patent No. D541,421, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.' buywell is of the opinion that the Grant of just one of these now published patent applications will greatly enhance any floatation of Belluscura and such grants could be forthcoming within the next few months htTps://kolitchromano.com/how-to-patent-your-invention-in-less-than-one-year/ The grant of both will be absolutely game changing imo as it is very difficult to put a price on Intellectual Property (IP) that actually is proven to work and addresses such high demand/green markets imo dyor

belluscura and the growing need for home oxygen for 'long COVID' sufferers buywell has posted previously on here re COPD and Obstructive Sleep Apnea in connection with oxygen concentrators However another new Covid-19 group of people suffering from long COVID is set to add significantly to the above --- taking the number worldwide to 2 Billion people suffering breathing difficulties and requiring oxygen at home on a regular basis. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is one of the most prevalent diseases in the World, and one of the most important causes of mortality and morbidity. In adults 40 years and older, it affects more than 10% of the population and has enormous personal, family and social burden. hTtps://journals.physiology.org/doi/full/10.1152/ajplung.00429.2020 COPD affects an estimated 30 million Americans htTps://www.copdfoundation.org/What-is-COPD/Understanding-COPD/Statistics.aspx COPD affects 1.5M in the UK hTtps://www.hse.gov.uk/statistics/causdis/copd.pdf Regarding Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) , The first study reported global prevalence of obstructive sleep apnoea; with almost 1 billion people affected, and with prevalence exceeding 50% in some countries. Estimation of the global prevalence and burden of ... www.thelancet.com/journals/lanres/article/PIIS2213-2600(19... To our knowledge, this is the first study to report global prevalence of obstructive sleep apnoea; with almost 1 billion people affected, and with prevalence exceeding 50% in some countries, effective diagnostic and treatment strategies are needed to minimise the negative health impacts and to maximise cost-effectiveness. In the USA it is now estimated that 26 percent of adults between the ages of 30 and 70 years have sleep apnea. htTps://aasm.org/rising-prevalence-of-sleep-apnea-in-u-s-threatens-public-health/ long COVID is going to become a new problem for the world to deal with , the USA and the UK are both set to experience millions of such cases , with over 63% of those long COVID cases suffering from breathing difficulties A recent published reported that Computed tomographic lung scan abnormalities were reported in 63% of cases --- 4 months after Covid-19 Hospitalization in a follow up study htTps://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2777787 buywell is of the opinion that over 200,000 people in the UK have long COVID Based upon population size and case numbers this would equate to 1M cases in the USA But these case numbers are growing at the percentage rate that Covid-19 cases are growing --- and it looks like long COVID does not go away for many people hTtps://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2021/03/23/long-m23.html 1 in 3 Covid-19 cases regardless of hospitalizations has been reported as being left brain damaged Whilst official published cases of Covid-19 is circa 137m worldwide , conservatively the actual number of people that have had Covid-19 but not been tested is thought to be 5 times that number "Our current best estimates tell us that about 10% of the global population may have been infected by this virus," Dr. Mike Ryan, director of the WHO's Health Emergencies Programme, said at a WHO executive board meeting Monday Oct 6th 2020. htTps://edition.cnn.com/2020/10/06/health/who-coronavirus-world-population-intl/index.html Today buywell would estimate that 1 Billion people worldwide have had Covid-19 at least once , some have had it twice because of new variants. This circa 330 Million people are now likely suffering the effects of long COVID with over 200 Million of those having breathing difficulties due to scarring of their lungs Hence 2 Billion of the world population have breathing issues , but since some poor folks have multiple issues of the above --- the actual number is likely smaller at around 1.5 Billion , just over 20% of the world population

--------------------- Guident and Bestmile -------------------------- Remember that Guident is getting established in the state of Florida BUT there are several other states that seem likely to also follow the Florida strategy for Control Centre adoption re no actual human driver requirement in an autonomous vehicle. buywell surmises that in states that do not adopt such Control Centre strategies , the first time chaos followed by gridlock occurs --- things could rapidly change to a Control Centre methodology. Some developments: 7th Sept 2020 Tekcapital’s Guident enters strategic alliance with Bestmile htTps://www.voxmarkets.co.uk/articles/tekcapital-s-guident-enters-strategic-alliance-with-bestmile-1cb475e/ The alliance will see Guident provide its patented, advanced teleoperation to Bestmile for autonomous and human-driven vehicles to enhance customer safety and security, incorporating a reliable, low latency connection to any advanced mobile network solution. buywell note: Low latency describes a computer network that is optimized to process a very high volume of data messages with minimal delay (latency). These networks are designed to support operations that require near real-time access to rapidly changing data. The recent deal with Cirrus Core Networks enhances this 'almost real time' connection buywell was interested to read that driverless autonomous vehicles had already been used by Mayo Clinic in Florida ( Probably the Number One Cancer Treatment clinic in America ), to deliver Covid-19 testing materials along with Bestmile involvement April 2020 Autonomous vehicles helping transport COVID-19 tests at Florida Mayo Clinic Jacksonville Transportation Authority and its partners created, tested, and deployed the AV routes hTtps://www.roadsbridges.com/autonomous-vehicles-helping-transport-covid-19-tests-florida-mayo-clinic Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA), Beep, NAVYA, and Bestmile partnered to create, test, and deploy the routes for the autonomous vehicles at Mayo Clinic in Florida to address the fluid developments of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Jacksonville Transportation Authority has actively tested autonomous vehicle technology since 2017 to prepare for a conversion and expansion of its Jacksonville Skyway automated people-mover in downtown Jacksonville into a network powered by autonomous vehicles. Self-driving shuttles, COVID-19 and the Mayo Clinic Autonomous vehicles experiments have paid off in Jacksonville, FL, for both the city and the Mayo Clinic campus there. About two weeks ago, driverless shuttles began transporting medical supplies and COVID-19 tests from drive-through testing locations to labs within the hospital grounds. Four autonomous vehicles run the route in full autonomous mode without attendants or other people onboard. A human driving a car follows the autonomous shuttle, and operators monitor it from a command centre. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Guident has stated it intends to use its technology to monitor/control land based drones for the likes of food deliveries and medical deliveries for example ---- both huge markets in their own right Everyone has to eat/drink and Americans are taking more prescription medicines: there were 5.8 billion prescriptions dispensed in the United States in 2018, up 2.7% from 2017 More than 1 in every 2 Americans are taking a prescription drug Nearly 80% of elderly Americans likewise hTtps://www.medicarerights.org/medicare-watch/2016/04/28/blog-aarp-survey-highlights-prescription-drug-use-among-older-adults This last stage in the delivery chain has become known as the last mile The growth in home delivery is focusing attention on what logistics experts call "the last mile." That does not mean literally a mile; it means the last piece of this supply chain And the reason it's interesting is it's the most expensive mile of the whole thing. Estimates of more than 50% of the supply chain cost is from that last mile. It's expensive because it's labor-intensive as at present there is a driver who takes every package up to the front door. Estimates run that free shipping will cost Amazon more than a billion dollars in a quarter . Which explains why shippers are looking at some radical new technologies to cut the cost of the last mile. Hence land based drones are now being deployed buywell thinks this last mile is by far the most lucrative and worthy of attention Tekcapital’s Guident files new patent for remote monitoring technology hTtps://www.voxmarkets.co.uk/articles/tekcapital-s-guident-files-new-patent-for-remote-monitoring-technology--a2e475d/ This new patent teaches methods and procedures for improving the real-time, intelligent monitoring and control of AV's and land-based delivery drones The application, which aims to enhance the safety of autonomous vehicles, robots, or drones, is directed to a smart remote monitoring device and remote monitoring control centre that monitors the incident risk level and remotely takes control of the device. Plus a further partnership with Cirrus Core Networks hTtps://www.londonstockexchange.com/news-article/TEK/portfolio-company-update-guident-ltd/14708139?lang=en Guident provides patented artificial intelligent solutions for autonomous vehicles and ground-based delivery drones including valet systems, concierge services, remote monitoring and control and connected vehicle data sharing for active safety. Additionally, Guident's teleoperation system is designed to integrate within smart cities to improve the safety and performance of transportation in the smart city environment.

buywell likes Charts and TA Momentum for TEK has just been at the lowest level for 3 years That Chart/TA despite the 510(K) clearance for Belluscura ( the main reason imo for the hasty raise at 10p to buy warrants which were about to expire --- plus imo TEK took the opportunity to raise cash in order to scale up other parts of its portfolio which are on the cusp of requiring extra plant in order to meet possible orders from BIG companies eg MicroSalt as per buywells last post are self funding imo , what are in effect further demo products for the BIG snack companies to evaluate before placing an order to transition some of their business to lower sodium/salt , perhaps the parts that supply countries which are now putting black warning labels for 'excess sodium' on the front of the product packaging . buywell has read ALL of the Amazon Reviews of SaltMe Chips in the USA The takeaway for buywell is that even though there was 50% less Sodium in those MicroSalt SaltMe chips (crisps) , several people complained they tasted too salty buywell regards that as a BIG plus Because it demonstrates that the MicroSalt does what it says on the packet It tastes the same with 50% less --- in fact probably too good and 60% less would have been salty enough for those complaining or even 70% less The fact that MicroSalt are now about to release an 80% less Salt product (see last post ) is imo because one or more of the BIG Snack brands has requested such a product --- why not? If they are going to changeover --- 'Same taste but with 80% less Sodium' on the packet looks a lot better than 'Same taste but with 50% less Sodium' --- even though the latter is a huge reduction impact/marketwise . If and when the changeover button is pressed by a BIG brand snack company --- they imo will expect immediate supply of whichever less sodium MicroSalt they choose ( perhaps both ) a seamless and immediate flow of new salt reduced products for them to take to market This is what BIG companies will have dictated/are dictating imo --- so lots of new plant and machinery to install and test to meet such an increase in production that will have to be in place ready to meet huge quantities at a stroke so to speak --- unless they outsource --- or BIG snack company decides to do it themselves and buys MicroSalt lock stock and salty barrels Plus BIG snack companies will demand absolute secrecy --- so imo we are unlikely to hear about it till it happens --- one has to connect dots and read between the lines

---------- SALT intake & your immune system & Covid-19 ---------- There are now an increasing number of medical studies that are finding a correlation between Salt intake and how it affects your natural immune system. One would like ones immune system to be as good as it can be , especially since it deteriorates naturally with age , in order to give one a fighting chance of staving off Covid-19 as best as it could , especially those people that had not yet taken a vaccine jab for whatever reason , and that number runs into billions of people. A November 2014 study titled : Effects of dietary salt levels on monocytic cells and immune responses in healthy human subjects: a longitudinal study Found that: These results suggest that in healthy humans high-salt diet has a potential to bring about excessive immune response, which can be damaging to immune homeostasis, and a reduction in habitual dietary salt intake may induce potentially beneficial immune alterations. hTtps://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25497276/ Another study published in april 2019 and titled : Higher monocyte count with normal white blood cell count is positively associated with 10-year cardiovascular disease risk determined by Framingham risk score among community-dwelling Korean individuals reported : We found that of the various WBCs, monocyte count is an independent predictor of CVD risk buywell comments --- CVD is Cardiovascular Disease and WPC's are White blood cells of which there are several types , but the present focus is on monocytes eg Monocytes are a type of leukocyte, or white blood cell. They are the largest type of leukocyte and can differentiate into macrophages and myeloid lineage dendritic cells. As a part of the vertebrate innate immune system monocytes also influence the process of adaptive immunity. There are at least three subclasses of monocytes in human blood based on their phenotypic receptors. hTtps://journals.lww.com/md-journal/Fulltext/2019/04260/Higher_monocyte_count_with_normal_white_blood_cell.59.aspx Even more recently another study published in March 2020 and titled : Too much salt weakens the immune system A diet rich in salt weakens the antibacterial immune defense reported : A high-salt diet is not only bad for one's blood pressure, but also for the immune system. Mice fed a high-salt diet were found to suffer from much more severe bacterial infections. Human volunteers who consumed additional six grams of salt per day also showed pronounced immune deficiencies. This amount corresponds to the salt content of two fast food meals. htTps://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/03/200325143815.htm buywell has posted long and hard on SALT and the damage of too much in ones diet Add Weakens the natural immune system of the body to all of the others that buywell has posted over the last few days. Re Covid-19 Higher Salt intake is linked to increased obesity which in turn hightens the chances of acquiring covid-19 and having a worse outcome Higher Salt intake causes Higher Blood Pressure which increases the chances of CVD and strokes associated with worse outcomes Now Higher Salt intake weakens the immune system of your body -------------------------------------------------------- Salarius/MicroSalt plan to produce a new 80% less sodium salt product very soon now from what buywell has researched The timing could not be better All imo dyor

-------- Obesity and Salt intake and High Blood Pressure --------- According to the CDC over 42% of Americans are now obese with a BMI of over 30 , and around 75% ( which now is probably 80% ) are overweight. High Blood Pressure now affects over 150 Million Americans hTtps://thehealthnexus.org/half-of-americans-have-high-blood-pressure-are-you-at-risk/ The link between being Obese/Overweight and HBP has been understood and recognized for many years. But the link between salt intake and HBP and obesity not so much --- more recent studies are coming out , this study was published in Feb 2020 titled: Effect of dose and duration of reduction in dietary sodium on blood pressure levels: systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised trials The study found the effects of salt reduction were more evident at higher blood pressure levels, older ages, and among non-white populations, but almost every population group examined achieved a reduction in blood pressure. Also the study showed the benefits of lowering salt intake are seen across the board, but if you're older and already have high blood pressure—and are therefore at greater risk of associated conditions such as stroke and heart disease—there is an even greater effect on blood pressure from the same amount of salt reduction. Conclusions The magnitude of blood pressure lowering achieved with sodium reduction showed a dose-response relation and was greater for older populations, non-white populations, and those with higher blood pressure. Short term studies underestimate the effect of sodium reduction on blood pressure. hTtps://www.bmj.com/content/368/bmj.m315 hTtps://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-02-evidence-weight-urgent-action-salt.html

--------------- The Link Between Salt intake and Obesity ----------------- In 2015, British and Chinese researchers reported that body fat increased for children and adults on high-salt diets. Eating an extra gram of salt each day increased the risk of obesity in children by 28% and in adults by 26%. In 2016 An Australian study published last year linked high-salt diets with a 23% increased chance of obesity in schoolchildren. Another Australian study from 2016, led by Russell Keast, PhD, tied salt to an 11% rise in the amount of food and calories that adults take in. buywell comments: It would appear that an increase in salt intake does NOT increase a persons intake of water but DOES make them feel hungrier This was confirmed in tests on Russian Cosmonauts htTps://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/08/health/salt-health-effects.html Recently in January 2020 a study was published titled : New study debunks notion that salt consumption contributes to weight loss Researchers found that reducing sodium intake in adults with elevated blood pressure or hypertension decreased thirst, urine volume and blood pressure, but did not affect metabolic energy needs. These results support the traditional notion that decreasing sodium intake is critical to managing hypertension -- disputing recent studies. "Our study contributes meaningfully to this scientific debate and underscores the importance of sodium reduction as a means to lower blood pressure," said Juraschek. "Public health recommendations aimed at lowering population-wide sodium intake for blood pressure should continue without fear of contributing to weight gain." htTps://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/01/200122080558.htm

----------------- The link between SALT and OBESITY ------------------- In that diagram in the above post , SALT INTAKE needs to be inserted as a causative of Obesity ref a study published 26th March 2018 titled : High salt intake as a driver of obesity " The negative effects of high salt intake are typically thought of in terms of the effects of salt on blood pressure; however, long-term ingestion of a high-salt diet is also associated with obesity. Salt, despite the fact that it does not provide any calories, can in fact stimulate appetite via the endogenous production and metabolism of sugar,” hTtps://www.nature.com/articles/nrneph.2018.23 plus Obesity and Salt Intake in Asia The impact of obesity on high BP may differ between Asians and whites. Asians are likely to develop high BP even with mild obesity. From the viewpoint of the risk of the 2017 AHA/ACC Elevated BP/Stage I hypertension (previous prehypertension), the impact of body mass index 25 kg/m2 in Japanese is almost equivalent to that of body mass index 30 kg/m2 in the US population. Obesity and metabolic syndrome are known to increase salt sensitivity. Asians are likely to have a genetic predisposition to salt sensitivity. Compounding this problem, Asians tend to have a higher salt intake. Thus, the increase in salt sensitivity caused even by mild obesity could readily cause high BP in Asians who are already prone to high salt sensitivity and high salt intake. Salt intake is gradually decreasing in Japan but remains high at >10 g/d. In our survey in hypertensive patients recruited from general practitioner-based clinics in Tochigi prefecture, the average salt intake (estimated by concentrations of sodium and creatinine in spot urine) was 10.2 g/d, and the prevalence of well-controlled patients with a salt intake of <6 g/d was only 6.7%.17 We confirmed that a moderate salt restriction of −1.8 g/d (targeted 6.0 g/d, baseline 8.6 g/d, achieved 6.8 g/d), directed by a nutritionist, will significantly reduce clinic, home, and ambulatory BP (−7.3 mm Hg for 24-hour SBP) in medicated hypertensive patients.18 Thus, salt restriction to salt intake <6.0 g/d and body weight moderation to body mass index <25 kg/m2 are effective approaches, especially in Asian buywell notes that MicroSalt are planning to roll out a “80% less sodium” MicroSalt, being an improved version of its current patented technology which is 50% less sodium. buywell thinks if the same 'salt flavor' can be obtained by a 80% sodium reduction this product should in the present climate do quite well imo dyor

------ Obesity and Covid-19 now add Obstructive Sleep Apnea ------- Dec 8th 2020 Research points to links between obstructive sleep apnea and COVID-19, and the implications are huge. A study published earlier this fall concluded that patients with OSA were eight times more likely to be infected with COVID-19 than others of similar age who'd received care from a Chicago-area health system. htTps://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11325-020-02203-0 In the U.S., more than 54 million adults are estimated to have OSA. Yet according to a report from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, only a small fraction of those with the condition are diagnosed. Worldwide, the estimated prevalence of OSA reaches nearly 1 billion adults 30 to 69 years old. hTtps://www.usnews.com/news/health-news/articles/2020-12-08/sleep-apnea-an-overlooked-covid-19-risk-factor htTps://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7667903/ Houston we have a problem OSA is Obstructive Sleep Apnea It would appear that the world has only just woken up to this Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) link to Covid-19 The flip side is as buywell has previously posted ---- a normal weight person that recovers from Covid-19 is because of scarring on their lungs. Regarding the above Belluscura patent pending referred to with a link in the last post titled : Integrated ExtraCorporeal Oxygenation and CO2 Removal with Ventilation System This says : 'The present application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Patent Application Nos. 62/826,285, filed March 29, 2019 and titled, “Integrated ExtraCorporeal Oxygenation and CO2 Removal and Ventilation System” and 62/801,968, filed on February 6, 2019 and titled “Encorporeal Membrane Oxygenation Device, System and Related Methods” the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference in their entirety. ' buywell sees the grant of this patent being another plus as imo such a new Integrated ExtraCorporeal Oxygenation and CO2 Removal and Ventilation System means a new breakthrough in the treatment of ARDS and COPD and other diseases like Covid-19 where people need to be put on mechanical ventilators potentially for days or even weeks in the case of Covid-19. Also for cancer and heart operations and many other operations involving the use of IMV --- imo further studies will be coming out to demonstrate the benefits of ECCO2R in the next few months , the timing of which could possibly coincide with the patent being granted. This would be very handy re an IPO of Belluscura imo as in effect it would add another oxygen related layer for multiple applications within the ICU and operating rooms The patent application states 'The therapy is now being tested in clinical trials, although numerous questions remain about the application of ECLS and its impact on outcomes in critically ill adults. ' and 'Potential advantages of ECLS for respiratory failure include the ability to rest the lungs by avoiding injurious mechanical ventilator settings and the potential to facilitate early mobilization, which may be advantageous for bridging to recovery or to lung transplantation.' htTps://patents.google.com/patent/WO2020163596A1/en?assignee=belluscura&oq=belluscura buywell believes imo this all comes down to: ---------- Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome ( ARDS ) ----------- Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) can occur in those who are critically ill or who have significant injuries. It is often fatal, the risk increasing with age and severity of illness. People with ARDS have severe shortness of breath and often are unable to breathe on their own without support from a ventilator. Treatment includes oxygen, fluid management and medication. The most common cause of ARDS is sepsis, a serious and widespread infection of the bloodstream. Sepsis is now the BIGGEST killer in the world and is one of the reasons people die and suffer multi organ damage from Covid-19 ----------------- Sepsis leading cause of death worldwide --------------- January 16, 2020 hTtps://www.med.ubc.ca/news/sepsis-leading-cause-of-death-worldwide/ 'New research published today in The Lancet has found that sepsis is responsible for the most deaths worldwide, even more than cancer or coronary disease — previously believed to be the leading causes of death globally.' Re this belluscura patent which was 2020-08-13 Publication of WO2020163596A1 Studies are now published that support ECCO2R eg A recent study published in Jan 2021 titled : Ultraprotective ventilation allowed by extracorporeal CO2 removal improves the right ventricular function in acute respiratory distress syndrome patients: a quasi-experimental pilot study Results The efficacy of ECCO2R facilitated an ultraprotective strategy in all 18 patients included. We observed a significant improvement in RV systolic function parameters. Tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion (TAPSE) increased significantly under ultraprotective ventilation compared to baseline (from 22.8 to 25.4 mm; p < 0.05). Systolic excursion velocity (S’ wave) also increased after the 1-day protocol (from 13.8 m/s to 15.1 m/s; p < 0.05). A significant improvement in the aortic velocity time integral (VTIAo) under ultraprotective ventilation settings was observed (p = 0.05). There were no significant differences in the values of systolic pulmonary arterial pressure (sPAP) and RV preload. Conclusion Low-flow ECCO2R facilitates an ultraprotective ventilation strategy thatwould improve RV function in moderate-to-severe ARDS patients. Improvement in RV contractility appears to be mainly due to a decrease in intrathoracic pressure allowed by ultraprotective ventilation, rather than a reduction of PaCO2. hTtps://annalsofintensivecare.springeropen.com/articles/10.1186/s13613-020-00784-3 Another January 2021 study titled : Extracorporeal CO2 Removal Integrated within a Continuous Renal Replacement Circuit Offers Multiple Advantages htTps://www.karger.com/article/FullText/507875 Another 12th November 2020 study regarding Covid-19 and titled : Extracorporeal Carbon Dioxide Removal Using a Renal Replacement Therapy Platform to Enhance Lung-Protective Ventilation in Hypercapnic Patients With Coronavirus Disease 2019-Associated Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome hTtps://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fmed.2020.598379/full buywell comments --- the introduction in this study says it all 'The percentages of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients diagnosed with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) range between 20 and 67% of hospitalized patients and 100% of mechanically ventilated patients and are associated with high mortality.' 'In conclusion, our data indicate that low-flow ECCO2R using CRRT platforms might be safe and feasible to provide either standalone ECCO2R or ECCO2R combined with CRRT.' hxxps://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fmed.2020.598379/full CRRT is a type of blood purification therapy used with patients who are experiencing AKI. During this therapy, a patient's blood passes through a special filter that removes fluid and uremic toxins, returning clean blood to the body. belluscura just might be on to something with their proposed “Integrated ExtraCorporeal Oxygenation and CO2 Removal and Ventilation System” The integrated referring to the fact that : Previous ECCO2R and ECLS systems developed in the prior art, however, lack portability while also failing to provide integrated passive or minimally invasive ventilation. The systems being developed now do not provide an integrated passive or non-invasive ventilation source for the patient nor do they provide for a renewable, self-generating oxygen source. The current systems, therefore, are dependent on a separate ventilation system and oxygen sourced from finite or fixed volume oxygen sources such as an oxygen cylinder. This can be a very dangerous situation in aircraft when a patient must be transported or any situation when the fixed volume of oxygen may become empty during use. To be truly portable, the system should be battery powered, possess a self-contained oxygen generating device such as a portable oxygen concentrator (“POC”), utilize the POC’s oxygen source to sweep CC from the oxygenator, utilize the same POC oxygen source to provide oxygen to the patient’s blood through the oxygenator, recycle the sweep gas back through the POC where the carbon dioxide, Argon and other gases are removed, while also providing integrated passive, non-invasive ventilation separately or with mixed concentrated oxygen from the POC. The preferred device also preferably includes control or a central processor to control oxygen concentration and pressures introduced to the patient’s lungs, oxygenation and CO2 removal from the patient’s blood, production of concentrated oxygen and related components of the system, based on data acquired from sensors connected to the system and central processor. Another Belluscura patent titled : Systems and methods for improving patient recovery postoperatively 2020-03-19 Publication of WO2020055933A1 hTtps://patents.google.com/patent/WO2020055933A1/en It is worth noting that the system in this patent is incorporating the technology in updated and modified forms/formats that previously Belluscura acquired in a patent from Stryker when it was called SNAP II So buywell assumes it is now being put to good use in what Belluscura now call an : Integrated ExtraCorporeal Oxygenation and CO2 Removal and Ventilation System buywell ends with the comment: The FDA and EMA and Hospitals around the World need such ECCO2R devices now Covid-19 and SARS-CoV-3 and 4 are here and coming sooner than many think --- the urgent need for such systems to treat ARDS which will be present in all such viruses is clearly imo demonstrated by present studies Delaying for more and more studies whilst using olde tech IMV with all the VAP and other problems associated with this olde technology is not an option imo. Piped Oxygen in Hospitals many countries has failed due to Covid-19 demands A self contained portable battery powered ( if needed ) option that fulfills the provisions detailed in the patent means additional help so that traditional piped oxygen can cope with other/normal hospital demands dyor

--------------- Obesity and Covid-19 and links to use of TEK IP ----------------- Just prior to the start of Covid-19 , obesity was a known health issue which was directly causative of many diseases and health problems The CDC in America listed them thus : Consequences of Obesity Health Consequences People who have obesity, compared to those with a healthy weight, are at increased risk for many serious diseases and health conditions, including the following: All-causes of death (mortality) High blood pressure (hypertension) High LDL cholesterol, low HDL cholesterol, or high levels of triglycerides (Dyslipidemia) Type 2 diabetes Coronary heart disease Stroke Gallbladder disease Osteoarthritis (a breakdown of cartilage and bone within a joint) Sleep apnea and breathing problems Many types of cancers Low quality of life Mental illness such as clinical depression, anxiety, and other mental disorders Body pain and difficulty with physical functioning hTtps://www.cdc.gov/obesity/adult/causes.html When SARS-CoV-2 struck in early 2020 , the numbers of obese people that caught Covid-19 far outweighed those of normal BMI weight , ending up in Intensive Care Units (ICU's) , many on Mechanical Ventilators in a sedated state as they could not get enough oxygen into their body/blood by themselves doing their own breathing. In fact the typical numbers in the USA ,which has one of the highest adult obesity rates in the world now at over 42% of the USA population , in the following medical study carried out in Boston November 2020 reported that in the ICU only 10% of patients in the study cohort were of normal BMI weight 90% of the people in the study in the ICU were obese, morbidly obese or overweight --- see ICU outcomes in Covid-19 patients with obesity hTtps://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/1753466620971146 "Another UK study itself reported that studies in the United States have shown that having a BMI over 30—the threshold that defines obesity—increases the risk of being admitted to hospital with covid-19 by 113%, of being admitted to intensive care by 74%, and of dying by 48%. Public Health England reported similar numbers for mortality, with the risk of death from covid-19 increasing by 90% in people with a BMI over 40." hTtps://www.bmj.com/content/372/bmj.n411 buywell believes that one of the reasons that over twice as many obese people first catch Covid-19 and then end up hospitalized is because obese people breathe in and out at a much higher rate that those of a normal weight ---- this recent 2021 study supports that view imo Exhaled aerosol increases with COVID-19 infection, age, and obesity hTtps://www.pnas.org/content/118/8/e2021830118 Obesity also causes other respiratory problems , Obesity and Obstructive Sleep Apnea Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a disorder that negatively affects many parts of the body. Medical conditions linked to OSA include hypertension, insulin resistance, visceral fat deposition, and systemic inflammation. Sleep apnea is believed to affect 25% of the adult population and as high as 45% of individuals with obesity. Since 42% of American adults are now obese , this number of cases each year equates to: 62.7 Million Americans suffer from Sleep Apnea each year hTtps://obesitymedicine.org/obesity-and-sleep-apnea/ Also Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome (OHS) which is a breathing disorder seen in some people who are severely obese or very overweight that leads to low oxygen levels and too much carbon dioxide in your blood. "Obesity is the number one contributor to OHS. Patients with body mass index (BMI) greater than 35 have a reported incidence of over 30%." The CDC have said that there is 9% severe obesity now in USA adults ie BMI 35 or more hTtps://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/hestat/obesity-adult-17-18/obesity-adult.htm The 30% incidence of BMI 35 number equates: 6.7 million American adults each year suffering from Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome If you have read those links then you will see that oxygen supplied by CPAP can be used as a treatment in many cases But there are now new ways of reducing/eliminating the CO2 from an obese patients blood in an ICU which could give them a better chance of making a recovery :. Consider this patent re obese patients in Intensive Care Units (ICU's) suffering from Covid-19 or some other disease which obesity has bought about ( refer list at start of post ) : hTtps://patents.google.com/patent/WO2020163596A1/en?assignee=belluscura&oq=belluscura In the USA 0ver 42% of adult people are now obese hTtps://www.cdc.gov/obesity/data/adult.html So it is not surprising that medical studies being published regarding Covid-19 , say that in ICU's only 10% of patients receiving treatment are of normal weight Obesity is the nub of many problems ---- BUT there are some solutions -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Regarding Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease ( COPD ) which has been talked about in relation to Belluscura A proportion of sufferers of COPD will require Home Oxygen Therapy ie use of an oxygen concentrator However buywell believes quite a number of COPD sufferers will end up being operated on in an ICU There does seem to be a case for the use of Extracorporeal CO2 removal with low-flow ECCO2R devices in such cases so as to limit/minimize the length of time patients are left on Mechanical Ventilators see: hTtps://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/medicine-and-dentistry/extracorporeal-carbon-dioxide-removal ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This has been somewhat of an epic so to finish ---- a comment on Invasive Mechanical Ventilators are olde tech and have been around for decades They have been stated to cause Ventilator Acquired Pneumonia ( VAP) --- this form of pneumonia is very dangerous and the thinking is a patient can develop it within about 48hrs on IMV aka MV Before the advent of Covid-19 it was said that : VAP is a serious, common and costly complication ranking first among nosocomial infections in an ICU. Prevalence of VAP is between 9–27% and this mortality rate has been reported 30–70%. Now with Covid-19 an article recently published titled : COVID-19: An Alert to Ventilator-Associated Bacterial Pneumonia 'All efforts are necessary to avoid VAP in COVID-19 patients, especially due to the peculiar immunological profile observed in severe cases. The risk factors for this co-infection that can be monitored or avoided must be in order to prevent VAP. The co-infection has the potential to worsen clinical condition and increase mortality in these patients, as well as to prolong and increase the costs of hospitalization.' 'The World Health Organization guidance to reduce incidence of VAP in COVID-19 patients, using MV, proposes the following interventions: prefer oral instead or nasal intubation in adolescents and adults ' hTtps://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7260454/ dyor
