24/3/2021 09:00 | The uncertainty over a Belluscura IPO-Its timing and valuation plus the placing overhang is clearly holding back the share price It is noteworthy that recent holding notifications indicate some holders above 3% did not participate in the placing.TEK's decision to take up their full entitlements in Belluscura suggest an IPO will take place on terms favourable to TEK shareholders.Time will tell if their optimism is justified. The market seems unconvinced ATM.DYOR | oldtimer169

22/3/2021 18:37 | We'll have to see what happens when sellers from the placing are out. However, I was also expecting a move up from here. One of my concerns was that with the core consultancy not covering central costs, regular placings are needed just to keep the lights on, and extra is needed to invest in subsidiary companies. If Bellascura IPOs, then it should be possible to gradually sell those shares to provide funds which feels like a tipping point, funding future growth from historical success. I'm not a fan of Lucyd, but it should be moving to profitability - I am a fan of Salarius, but suspect it will need more investment even if current sales are profitable.I worry that Guident is a bit of a vanity project that will have too much invested in it (although the shock absorbers could be good).I'm starting to ramble, so I'll end by saying that I hope this placing plus gradual selling off of the stake in Bellascura and other subsidiary companies moving towards profitability moves TEK from being a punt to a proper, investable company. | ewanwhose
22/3/2021 12:08 | I cant see filtered names- three on here inc buywell. However the price response in the last week does make me question what a company has to do to move the market. Patience as ever is required and investments in Salarious, Bellu and Lucyd should bring rewards. THe company now has money for the next year- what price Bellu then given it raised funds at 15p in 2019. | faz

18/3/2021 10:46 | Yes. If you've brought up four daughters you deserve that with at least one of them! | ptolemy
18/3/2021 10:34 | Ptolemy, An interesting analogy. However,I would add a further dimension that one of the daughters marries someone who wins the lottery and buys you a carribean island as a 'thankyou'.In the case of TEK the 'jackpot' takes the form of a major tech company that loves one or more of your patents and either buys the IP or more likely takes you out at a massive premium to the share price. That's the risk/reward here and on a positive note, the risk is spread across several possibilities.DYOR | oldtimer169
18/3/2021 09:52 | The issue at the moment is that there is so much money in the system, companies don't need to come to individual shareholders to raise cash. We're actually an inconvenience. They can go to a handful of institutions and do a bit of paperwork and finish the process in a week. Or go to a few thousand private share holders, do loads of admin and take months doing it. Specifically, in the case of TEK I think it worth repeating what I wrote in November about the TEK portfolio. If you're a shareholder these are the risks: "It's rather like having four daughters. No sooner has the first married and you give a sigh of relief thinking it's clear skies ahead, the second asks for help with a house deposit. The third requires university funding. That done, the fourth asks for a car having recently passed her driving test. In short, a never ending cycle of funding (and dilution in equity but, perhaps dilution of you relationship with your daughters, too!). | ptolemy |
