---- Tekcapital own circa 70% of MicroSalt ( SALT ) listed on AIM ----

Malaysia back in 2010 realized that Salt was a problem that needed fixing

The Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) developed a national salt reduction strategy in 2010 to reduce daily salt intake by 30% by 2025. The strategy includes monitoring sodium content in foods and recording it in the Malaysian Food Composition Database (MyFCD).

However today that problem seems to still need further actions

16th December 2024

Transforming Health: Malaysia's RM 30 Billion NCD Strategy

Malaysia is taking a bold step towards a healthier future with a new initiative aimed at tackling noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). This collaborative effort by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the United Nations InterAgency Task Force on Non Communicable Diseases (UNIATF), promises not only to improve public health but also to enhance economic prosperity. On 19 November 2024, the MOH, in collaboration with WHO and UNIATF, unveiled a comprehensive investment case in the Malaysian Parliament.

The report, titled "Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases in Malaysia: The Case for Investment," reveals the staggering economic burden of NCDs, amounting to RM 64.2 billion or 4.2% of the GDP in 2021.

This includes RM 12.4 billion in public healthcare costs and RM 51.8 billion in productivity losses.

NCDs, like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer, are more than just health issues—they contribute to significant economic burdens in Malaysia, with premature deaths and reduced productivity affecting our economic progress.

The findings in the report underscore the urgent need to escalate strategic investments in prevention and control measures.

Amazingly in the above link :

The report provides a detailed analysis of the current NCD landscape and offers actionable recommendations to improve health outcomes and economic stability. This includes several cost-effective policies targeting key NCD risk factors, such as reducing salt and tobacco consumption, promoting physical activity, and increasing cancer screening.

For example, the salt reduction package is expected to yield RM 60.1 for every RM 1 invested, while the tobacco control package could return RM 5.9 for every RM 1 invested.

Conclusion 1 :

Mandated Salt reduction in foods and other consumables including for example soups/drinks/snacks/confectionary looks set to become the MAIN focus for Malaysia

At present in Malaysia Google AI

AI Overview

Sodium content is required to be listed on the nutrition label of food products in Malaysia:

Regulation

Regulation 18B of Malaysia Food Regulations 1985 requires sodium content to be listed on food packaging.

Nutritional value

Nutritional value information is required to be expressed per serving and per 100 g (ml).

Mandatory nutrients

Mandatory nutrients to be declared include energy, protein, carbohydrate, total sugar, fat, and sodium.

Optional nutrients

Other nutrients that may be declared include dietary fiber, cholesterol, and sodium.

-----------------------------------

Conclusion 2 :

So IMO it would seem a mandated Sodium content in various foods and other consumables is coming in Malaysia

This will likely be based upon 100g sized portions

If a 50% Sodium reduction using ordinary Salt , could be achieved without a loss of flavour would Malaysia be interested ?

Could Auve Tech MiCa also could soon be getting orders back in Estonia ?

Following the news above on 2nd December --- Auve Tech received Level 4 autonomous driving approval for MiCa in Japan (see above post)

Self-driving bus operating in Tallinn's Kodulahe this December

This month, a self-driving bus will provide free rides to passengers in Tallinn's Kodulahe neighborhood, between Stroomi Beach and Paldiski maantee.
The bus will operate on Monday to Friday until December 20.

Tallinn Deputy Mayor Kristjan Järvan (Isamaa) said that autonomous buses have been tested in various areas of the Estonian capital before. "Public transport must also be accessible in new development areas. Unfortunately, many developments in Tallinn have previously been approved without fully considering public transport solutions – lacking stops or suitable spaces for city buses.

To address this issue, we are testing an autonomous bus in the Kodulahe neighborhood as a 'last mile' solution to connect local residents with the public transport network along Paldiski maantee," said Järvan.

Kaarel Variksaar, chair of Auve Tech's management board, said the company's next-generation autonomous vehicle, MiCa, which has already operated in Japan, the United States, the Middle East, Germany, and Finland, is now carrying passengers in its hometown of Tallinn for the first time.

Tallinn mayor offers solution to Paldiski maantee gridlock
"MiCa is designed to bring public transport closer to people in areas where the use of large buses is not practical, offering an alternative to those who currently rely on personal cars for transportation.," Variksaar said.

The self-driving bus will serve passengers from December 2 – 20. The bus will operate from Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. and then between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. It will not operate on weekends.

The bus route starts at the parking lot at the end of Lahepea tänav, travels along Lahepea tänav to Lammi tänav, where it stops near the intersection. The bus then turns around, continues along Lahepea tänav to Paldiski maantee, stops near Café Karmen, and returns via the same route.

According to a City of Tallinn press release, the project, which a collaboration between Tallinn Transport Department and Auve Tech, aims to explore the potential for the use of autonomous buses in urban transport.

To ensure safety, an onboard operator will oversee maneuvers and intervene if necessary.
The bus travels at a safe speed on the road and does not pose a risk to pedestrians.

Conclusion

IMO the level 4 autonomous driving approval MiCa has just gained in Japan will help it to gain the same in Estonia --- where MiCa is manufactured

Guident have been reported as opening a RMCC in Europe

The case for the adoption of level 4 autonomous shuttles with Teleoperation by humans located in remote monitoring and control centres within the EU could happen very soon now --- perhaps this year.

Auve Tech autonomous vehicle to drive in Japan ---

The Estonian-based Auve Tech has secured Level 4 autonomous driving approval in Japan for its MiCa shuttle

The Auve Tech MiCa shuttle developed in Estonia has been cleared to drive without security operator in Japan.

December 2nd 2024

Estonia is no newcomer when it comes to innovations in mobility — from Bolt to delivery robots, — and now one more major win is added to its growing list of achievements. Estonian-based Auve Tech has secured Level 4 autonomous driving approval in Japan for its MiCa shuttle.

The company’s autonomous shuttles commenced operations on public streets in Taki Town, Mie Prefecture on November 29.

“Level 4 or driverless operations is the Holy Grail of every company developing autonomous technology,” says Auve Tech’s Founder, Väino Kaldoja. “Achieving confirmation for Level 4 in Japan and in public traffic is a great leap in development for a young technology company.” This certification particularly stands out as it required passing 64 distinct test cases, widely recognized as one of the world’s most rigorous autonomous vehicle testing protocols.

The MiCa shuttle, an 8-seat autonomous vehicle developed and manufactured in Estonia, represents a new generation of smart mobility solutions. Auve Tech’s presence in Japan has already reached a significant scale, with approximately twenty MiCa vehicles providing daily mobility services in several small towns. The majority of these operations are managed by Boldly, a SoftBank subsidiary, with backing from the Japanese government.

This strategic partnership will help Auve Tech to expand market penetration, not only in Japan but globally.

--- Tekcapital owns 70% of MicroSalt (SALT) which reduces sodium by 50% ----

In the US more than 75% of Americans exceed the current dietary recommendation for saturated fat and nearly 80% of people have a diet low in fruit and vegetables. Moreover, 63% of Americans exceed daily intake for recommended amounts of added sugar and more than 90% of people exceed the daily recommended limits for sodium.

So at long last the FDA ( Food and Drugs Administration ) have come up with something which is not a guideline anymore as Guidelines have not led any manufacturer to do anything about sodium contents --- yet.

----- Tesla are about to produce Lithium using table salt ------

Tesla has applied for a new patent that is revealing the lithium extraction process that Elon Musk vaguely described as “using table salt to basically extract lithium from ore” during Tesla's Battery Day last year. It could cut costs by more than 30%, according to the automaker.9th July 2021

I kid you not

Tesla has applied for a patent for a NEW process to obtain Lithium by the use of NaCl Sodium Chloride aka table salt

Title :

Selective extraction of lithium from clay minerals

hTttps://patents.google.com/patent/US20210207243A1/en

Tesla describes the effect of adding NaCl to the milling step of the process:

The effect of adding NaCl to the milling step of the process was measured. NaCl powders and fine clay mineral particles in weight ratios of 3:97 (i.e. NaCl to total mixture (i.e. NaCl + Clay) = 3%; and corresponding to a Na:Li molar ratio of about 2.7:1) were weighed and placed into a PM100 planetary ball mill and continuously milled for up to 3 hours at 500 rpm rotation. The ball-milled NaCl/clay mixture was then collected and transferred into a glass reactor for water leaching. 31 gram of the NaCl/clay mixture was loaded into the reactor with water added to create 150 gram slurries with salt/clay mixture to water weight ratios of 1:4 (i.e. a 20 wt.% salt/clay mixture loading in water). Once the slurry is created, water leaching is performed at 90oC under 1000 RPM agitation for up to 20 minutes. A condenser is used to minimize the water loss during leaching. Following a subsequent filtration using 5 um filter paper, the leach solution was collected for further chemical composition analysis.

Notice the use of the words NaCl powders

Does this mean smaller sized particles ?

Does the Tesla Process have an optimized size of Salt crystal at which the manufacture of Lithium is maximized ?

The factory will start production within months

What this means in practical terms is

Lithium bearing clay from a 10,000 acre sized Tesla owned land holding is taken to the Tesla Lithium production factory ( see video ) , and the clay is dried in a Kiln and then pulverised in a spinning metal machine which has numerous metal balls in it for several hours

The result being clay dust particles which can contain circa 0.5% Lithium

This clay dust is then mixed with added salt powder in the ratio of 100% clay dust plus a further 10% salt powder

After the mixing for several hours water is added to form a slurry and mixed again

The lithium ions are now in the water having been separated by the NaCl

The drained water from the slurry is heated and the water evaporates leaving behind pure Lithium

Waymo uses Teleoperators to drive their taxis according to this youtube video

Interesting but not surprising perhaps, with only 700 cars using Teleoperators is doable but costly like the Waymo taxis are with all those sensors ( circa $100k's worth/Taxi according to the video.

Since Waymo currently has the largest fleet in the US with more than 700 cars in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Phoenix. It's the only paid robotaxi service in the US and is expected to start offering a service in Austin and Atlanta during 2025, in partnership with Uber.

------ Scalability of Teleoperators to Robotaxis ------

Tesla is also going to use Teleoperators

But for Robotaxis to become profitable a Teleoperator must be able to monitor at least 10 Robotaxis and be able to automatically switched to the Robotaxi cameras in real time when a Robotixi that has a problem/edge case

The Teleoperator seeing what the Robotaxi cameras see will allow resolution of the problem in as fast a timescale as possible

AI can only do so much --- for the next decade a human in the loop will IMO be key

Germany has decided that a human teleoperator is needed so the EU will follow suit

Thus a company needs to achieve a SAFE 10 to 1 scalability of 10 Robotaxis to 1 Teleoperator will IMO get the most work

Waymo and Tesla will be going head to head in 2025 for the $10 Trillion dollar market that Robotaxis is being said to be worth.

-- The price of EV's is set to drop dramatically over the next couple of years --

EV sales therefore look set to rocket as EV prices drop

Cheaper higher density batteries that charge quicker and last 1,000,000 miles will soon be powering EV's

Such batteries will still have 80% capacity after 1,000,000 miles also

Expect BIG EV price reductions and BIG EV sales as better battery technology makes the ICE a dodo.

IMO OIL sales/prices to drop as a result by 20230

Also IMO the Hydrogen Market for cars/trucks/buses/shuttles etc will get hit because of these super long lasting and high density single crystal non cobalt batteries.

These batteries will IMO play a huge role in power station storage that will be needed as wind farms and solar farms replace other older electricity generation eg gas/coal/oil and nuclear .

--- The Patent Moat deepens for GUIDENT with another timely RMCC AI patent ----

" Artificial Intelligence Method and Apparatus for Remote Monitoring and Control of Autonomous Vehicles"

20th December 2024

Tekcapital plc

Portfolio Company Update: Guident Ltd

Awarded New European Patent No. 4097550

Tekcapital Plc (AIM: TEK) the UK intellectual property investment group focused on creating valuable products that can improve people's lives, is pleased to announce that its portfolio company Guident Ltd ("Guident") has received European Patent Grant No. 4097550, entitled

" Artificial Intelligence Method and Apparatus for Remote Monitoring and Control of Autonomous Vehicles"

The patent is directed to an autonomous vehicle remote monitoring and control centre (RMCC) employing distributed sensor fusion and artificial intelligence techniques that is configured to receive sensor data across multiple independently governed autonomous vehicles, including sensor data from vehicles not operating under RMCC control, determine incident risk levels, and take control of one or more of the autonomous vehicles operating at an unsafe incident risk level, implement safety measures, and return control when the level is safe.

Guident has built one of the first commercial-grade remote monitoring and control centres for autonomous vehicles in Florida, with additional facilities underway in Michigan, and Europe, and has developed what we believe is a comprehensive intellectual property portfolio as illustrated below:

The adoption of autonomous vehicles (AVs) across the United States is accelerating, and Guident welcomes the accompanying regulatory developments that put the safety of passengers and the public at the forefront of autonomous vehicle fleet rollouts.

Market Traction and Strategic Outlook

· The Total Addressable Market for automotive active safety systems (which includes driver monitoring) is projected to exceed $25 billion by 2030.[1]

· Autonomous vehicles are expected to transition from embryonic to the beginning of mainstream adoption across global markets. Waymo LLC is now providing 150,000 paid AV trips a week[2] and Tesla, Inc. is planning to launch its robotaxi service in 2026.[3]

· Safety remains pivotal to the adoption of AVs for all stakeholders, including consumers, government bodies, manufacturers, technology developers, and AV fleet operators.

Harald Braun, Executive Chairman of Guident, commented:

"We are very excited about the recent patent and commercial progress of Guident. We believe the timing for Guident's potential IPO next year is excellent and our experience with remote monitoring and control coupled with our proprietary intellectual property provides a first mover advantage."

---- MicroSalt patent portfolio looks set to grow furthet into 2025 ----

Ref the LSEG_NON which IMO should have been an RNS if looked at over a 1 to 2 year view.

The global French fries market size was valued at USD 16.60 billion in 2023 and is projected to grow from USD 17.12 billion in 2024 to USD 26.56 billion by 2032, exhibiting a CAGR of 5.6% during the forecast period.
North America dominated the french fries market with a market share of 43.37% in 2023.

Ref the new patent application :-

MicroSalt has filed a patent application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office covering unique methods and systems for transforming powdered salt formulations into granulated salt, specifically designed for use on fried foods including French fries and fish.

The new formulation represents a significant technological advancement in sodium reduction, offering consistent seasoning distribution and improved flowability while maintaining full flavor with approximately 50% less sodium. This innovation addresses a critical challenge in commercial food preparation, where uniform seasoning across different cooking stations and shifts has traditionally been difficult to achieve with reduced-sodium alternatives.

The global French fry market is projected to grow from US$16.6 billion to US$21.9 billion by 2030. With over 548,000 fast food restaurants worldwide, the majority of which serve French fries, the potential market for this technology is considerable.

“This patent filing marks an additional major milestone in our mission to reduce sodium consumption globally,” said Rick Guiney, CEO of MicroSalt.

“Our dedication to research and development has led to a breakthrough that enables us to bring the low-sodium benefits of MicroSalt to the entire foodservice sector. With this new formulation, we are addressing a critical need in the French fry industry, which continues to expand rapidly.”

The effectiveness of MicroSalt’s new formulation has been validated through its adoption by Carma Hospitality, a forward-thinking restaurant chain based in Montreal, Canada, which has successfully integrated the product into its daily operations.

"Carma Hospitality has integrated MicroSalt's new formula into its operations, highlighting its effectiveness in maintaining consistent seasoning across various workstations and shift changes.”

IMO Carma Hospitality restaurants have trialled the new Microsalt product which is now soon to be patent pending AND since it piggybacks on other Microsalt patents which have been granted --- will almost certainly also get the nod.

This the MicroSalt patent portfolio grows

Buywell has a feeling that another patent application will soon be filed

This will involve the manufacture of even smaller sized salt crystals which will lend their use to sodium reduction in pastes, butter , cheese sauces , soups and liquids of IMO up to 75%.

Perhaps bread manufacture also will adopt such a product to reduce the massive sodium levels in bread .

Such a product would be too good not to use with WHO, FDA and Government changes regarding reduced Sodium and better health benefits now becoming self evident .

Tate and Lyle adopted a patent for low sodium which was used for bread making around 10 years ago

It was achieved by the use of smaller salt crystals --- surprise eh

However the present MicroSalt crystals are MUCH smaller --- and heve BIGGER Sodium reductions in bread can be achieved

Therefore

If yet an even smaller Salt crystal can be made ---- the likes of Tate and Lyle should be interested once again IMO

Safety tales first place IMO regarding all current Tesla plans

Once Trump has been inaugurated , expect to see the creation of federal regulations which mandate what manufacturers and operators have to obey in order to make and/or operate driverless autonomous vehicles.

Expect to see the word 'safety' used throughout

Also expect to see Elon Musk involved in the creation/writing of such federal regulations

Low latency and connectivity will be key - as will human operators involvement in monitoring and edge case control

Oct 24th 2024

Elon Musk said he'd push to regulate autonomous driving on the federal level 'if there's a department of government efficiency'

Elon Musk, who has been campaigning for Donald Trump, has offered to take on a role in the White House, overseeing government efficiency.

Elon Musk pushed for federal regulation of autonomous vehicles during Tesla's earnings call.

The Tesla CEO has previously said he'd be interested in a cabinet role under a second Trump admin.
Musk said he's interested in leading a potential government efficiency commission.

In Musk's regulations ,

Will LEO satellites get a mention in relation to connectivity ?

Will the regulations stipulate how many communication mediums are required to achieve safe connectivity ?

What latency period in mSec , will be stipulated for human operators involved ?

IMO all of these will be addressed along with many other necessary mandated requirements so as to ease public concerns of driverless AV adoption and their safety.
