Hello everybody , did you know that there it is an inbuilt speech recognition program in windows seven?

I learned to use it in just under an hour and I dictated this message in a word processor program

It saves an awful lot of time as I can dictate much faster than I can write.

Ima - just a different database

Rightmove.co.uk is the UK's largest property web site, advertising around 90% of all homes for sale via estate agents across the UK. The site attracts over
40 million visits from home movers each month who view in excess of 400 million pages. Each month Rightmove uses asking price data of up to 200,000
properties coming onto the market to produce this House Price Index - the largest, most accurate and up-to-date monthly index.

Jibba - it seems the data were skewed by smaller number than usual getting put on the mkt and owners asking unrealistically high starting prices

I know it's the 'trend' (if 2 months can give a trend) that counts but I thought average UK house prices were in the region of £160k?

Good link JJ, cheers. I see it has Aviva as Number 3, one of my long term dividend earners (over %5.6). I know you should not love stocks but Aviva is a cracking buy. Barclays is also a strong buy at Number 9, my biggest holding with Taylor Wimpey following 2nd.

Announcement of the financial completion of TM sale should be within the next 10 days. This will remove any lingering doubts (if there are any) that the deal could fall through.

Interestingly the shorting activity has subsided dramatically over the last couple of weeks.

Obviously this cannot be linked to the fact that "Peel Hunt" have dropped their forecast for future profits and keep recommending "SELL" when most other brokers are "BUY".

Strange that one broker can be so far off the median view.

I look forward to the positive announcement of cash being received for the sale and the accompanying update on the cost cutting and profit generation.

My personal target in 45 days - 53p (fingers crossed)

new figures suggested the UK's struggling construction sector is not doing quite as badly as thought.
...Separately, updated figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) revised the fall in the UK's construction output in the first three months of this year from 4.7pc to 4pc.
