09/11/2020 14:51 | I know - HL. are not the cheapest, but I use them as they are the biggest and should be the most robust (they were.) Can't get through by phone either - I really want to buy some other stuff, POLY in particular. But cannot get through. Harrumph. | imastu pidgitaswell
09/11/2020 14:47 | if I was cynical I would say its just another technique to stop the punters getting access to easy money. Just like when it is crashing and you cant sell. You get done at both ends of the trading movement. Considering there are few epic events that move the market quickly one way or another, it is disgraceful that these platforms fall over when they take your coin for subscriptions or transactions. Refund required!!! | 1carus
09/11/2020 14:32 | Well that was then - basically crashed now. Oh well, was a bit undecided anyway, here and elsewhere. Time for a break. | imastu pidgitaswell
09/11/2020 13:51 | Halifax still not up!! people will be getting angry!!! | 1carus
09/11/2020 13:47 | Almost impossible to get a trade to execute, all the platforms are struggling, an hour to get three trades through...have had to switch to my most expensive phone brokers to get stuff done, good tip...buy EM ETF’s, with Trump gone and weaker dollar, will fly. | porsche1945
09/11/2020 13:46 | Just for the record I bought RR at 101p sold half at 1.98 Re bought back, sold for a small loss & re bought at 78p slightly less than doubling my money for the pernickety | jugears
09/11/2020 13:38 | hmm, halifax trading service seems down.... i think the platforms are getting a hammering... shorters wanting to close positions and people not invested trying to get on the bus.... oh dear!!! | 1carus
09/11/2020 13:27 | 1carus, "To some degree you have to make your own luck is the way that i think about it." Agree. It's managing risk/reward and reading both bull/bear points. Everyone has their own risk/reward. Everyone has their own risk/reward. I'm sure if PIs were holding at 200p like Jug they would be hoping the rally continues to reduce their losses (or Lloyd at 85p)!! HBs are good for trading at the moment. Everyone's circumstances are different. Read the company/sector newsflow. HBs are moving with the ftse. Jugears, RR is 50% down on when you 1st posted you bought and a 20-30% up on your 2nd post. So not 100% overall!! | sikhthetech
09/11/2020 13:22 | 1carus, my policy is that things are rarely as bad as it seems but the markets will always over react, looking good across the board even RR & Lloyds, in fact all 20 odd shares I purchased recently are nicely in profit & although I am not a trader am doing very nicely trading RR having nearly doubled my original investment in a matter of months, May just stick to my long term plans now as wouldn't really want to not be in any of the companies I hold. | jugears
09/11/2020 13:19 | Good Lord! I thought the reaction to results would be positive but i am very pleased with this. | clarky5150
09/11/2020 13:18 | Banks and everything up on vaccine news, massive gains today guys. Good luck to all I hope you all get some of this rally. It's been painful for a lot of people, and indirectly everyone who has had pensions have been hurting. How do we think our American friends will effect the ftse after the bell. | 1carus
09/11/2020 13:02 | It is easy to see everything in front of you from a negative perspective and paint a very gloomy picture.... the end is nigh!.. Similarly it would be unwise to look at the world with rose tinted glasses... none the less, it is a fact that more positive people tend to do better in life. To some degree you have to make your own luck is the way that i think about it. But a really good report from TW, more stability in america that has been welcomed by the markets and a vaccine to covid just around the corner ... all almost on the same day!.... who would have thought!! Brexit deal perhaps next! | 1carus
09/11/2020 12:22 | Imastu, "All the rubbish we have had to read over the last few months" Yes I know. All that rubbish about HBs, demand for housing and read across from PSN and look, Covid/US Elections become certainties and the markets rally. I'm glad I didn't listen to Jug/gbh and fully load at 170p and all the way down, Lloy at 85p or RR at 200p.... lol As I said last week, HBs are good trading opportunities. Good isn't it. As expected. ;-) Jug "any good news re Brexit" So you now accept brexit is a factor in the HB share price Glad you changed your mind, yet again. ;-) | sikhthetech
09/11/2020 12:22 | Hernado I did all 200K worth, & doubt we will see them back there,IMO Tw will be paying a higher final dividend say 4-5.5 p due to recent figures, looks like my 1.70 coming soon, any good news re Brexit & these will be £2.00, that is a classic indignation of what happens when markets over react, this share is manipulated it was manipulated down to 98p & will be manipulated all the way back up, I think that today's statement is going to be a thorn in those so called experts side for quite a long time, yes sdh & h2b may be adding but at the end of the day we are not building enough houses & to add to this you can not get osb board(used in timber framed houses) lack of which could see an increase in demand for traditional brick & block houses (TW 's staple diet). | jugears
09/11/2020 12:14 | 2610 - Yes, it's the generosity of spirit when things work out for you... In this case, though, fair comment... 😎 | imastu pidgitaswell
09/11/2020 12:13 | All the rubbish we have had to read over the last few months. Hope they are burning! | inaminute
09/11/2020 12:13 | Sikh you web toed loser scumbag hahahahah, I am now up 41 pc on my investment in five weeks....luuuuvvviii | porsche1945
09/11/2020 12:00 | ooocha!!!... well there goes 200ma. Now to see if it stays there before day ends. | 1carus
09/11/2020 11:57 | There you go, US Election and Vaccine news. 2 major uncertainties coming together during Q4 now becoming certainties. Markets rallying. | sikhthetech
09/11/2020 11:55 | gaygay The markets are moving higher because they are relieved a major uncertainty, the US Election, is over bar any objections by Trump. The same major uncertainty that Jug was clueless about when the HBs were in a downtrend. He obviously knew Biden would win by a wide margin. Honest guv. HBs will move with the markets. | sikhthetech
09/11/2020 11:55 | Pfizer vaccine news... Not a bad day for it... | imastu pidgitaswell
09/11/2020 11:52 | I think the boat has sailed off into the sunset until the next 'random' crisis here. | 1carus
09/11/2020 11:48 | Jug "As for help to buy for first time buyers, that is where it should stop, at first time buyers" First Time Buyers buying new builds means no property chain, resulting in quicker sales. That's why a lot of sellers, inc HBs, like FTBs. The Help to Buy scheme makes it possible for FTBs to get onto the property ladder.. Hence why HBs need the Help to Buy scheme to continue. It's obvious to all HBs, estate agents and so called property experts(as you say), ie everyone in the property business but you. ;-) | sikhthetech |
