Loan repaid “due to strong cash flow” & resultant saving of £57k per annum in interest.
They should be getting at least 0.5% interest on the cash … a further £40k per annum.

I know the market is out of sorts at present but, fgsake, management are advising the business is performing well & does not need access to any debt to enact its plans for growth from here.

This was a recovery play and now that looks assured, it is becoming a growth play.

Times may be hard but, not all folk will stop going out. People ‘treat’ themselves no matter what & this looks a particularly TASTY treat for investors too.

Yes interesting they have more than the market cap in cash and the opportunity for new sites is excellent, my business partners in the uk have been acquiring sites in the uk at significant discounts to what it has been costing in recent years, eg a nice site in central london at 50k pa rent previously let at 150k , previously tenanted by a restaurant so very little fit out costs will pay back all costs in under a year, there are some real deals out there to expand cheaply.

Now is best time to go for growth, whilst competition depleted & deals available on rents.UK folk released from lockdown and tourism returning to pre-pandemic levels.

Still fragile but cheap. The expanding part, too soon for my taste, unless they can find nice locations in the current turmoil. It all comes down to management and maybe we can start believing in them, given the fact we haven’t gone out of business during very difficult times.

Would buy a bit more if the spread wasn’t this huge.

Good update. Through the pandemic with cash in hand and now planning to return to expansion. Can't ask for more than that

"Food sales fell below their pre-pandemic level for the first time, though, as more people returned to eating out and there was also anecdotal evidence suggesting higher demand for takeaways and meal-subscription kits."

A trend I am sure will continue to accelerate as people return to the workplace and the whole daft Covid testing/isolation regime ends next month.

Yes, bottom drawer job but could come out nicely, the market cap is so tiny they don't need to do much to get a nice move.

Hi catsick. Thanks for posting.
Clearly we're not alone given the recent buying.

This is my pick for 'company that will recover fast after Covid'.

Fine dining may be off the menu for some given the current headlines on cost of living squeeze but, I believe the old Pizza/Pasta combo can be relied upon through just about any set of circumstances & this should bounce back fast now.

Last night was the first restaurant 'event' of the year & restrictions now eased across the UK.
I signed up to the Wildwood mailing list last year and they are active with good & varied offers to recipients.
I've not actually got a Wildwood anywhere near to me but, friends tell me they have good experiences eating there.

I think the restructuring of the management here was a good thing. I don't like having Joint CEO's in a business.
There should be one person in charge and that person should be the passion, the drive, the laser-focus on the business.

The equity has proven particularly 'sticky' to the existing holders through the pandemic.

Still not managed to get my full allocation but, I never have a problem paying higher assuming (first) the turnaround gathers pace & then growth takes over.
Long term investment for me so, minimum 3 years but, hopefully much longer.

Im here too matt , I bought a bunch at the start of covid and waiting to see how all the free money thrown at restaurant businesses would bail out groups like this ....
