Last year was, as you probably know, 13th September. So could be any day now, but can't be more precise!

Very encouraging RNS today on grant of new options - clearly designed to motivate senior executives rather than giving them an easy ride. If these options are eventually exercised, then that effectively means a 100% rise in the share price from here.

Its an interesting company so I keep an eye on it but don't hold due to combination of big spread and low dealing quantities. Right about Canary Wharf.

Tasty secures 9th site for Wildwood restaurant in Canary Wharf

The pizza and pasta restaurant chain Wildwood has secured a new site in London's Canary Wharf, the first City site for the brand.

Tasty's Wildwood restaurant in Gloucester Road
The new venue at Jubilee Place will be the ninth unit for Wildwood, which is run by the restaurant operator Tasty.

Tasty has secured a 15 year lease on the Canary Wharf site, a 3,100 sq ft unit formerly trading as the Indian restaurant Tiffinbites. The restaurant was handed back to the landlords for a "significant six figure sum".

Tasty is reportedly looking for more sites for its Wildwood chain, which it considers to be one its core brands for future growth. The group also owns the oriental chain Dim T.

Wildwood expansion

Real estate brokers Cushman & Wakefield, who acted for Tasty on this acquisition, said Tasty is "urgently" seeking other sites in London and the South East.

"Hopefully there will be many more acquisitions over the coming months," said the group's associate partner Thomas Rose.

Brandon Elmon, at Davis Coffer Lyons who brokered the current deal said: "It is not easy for groups like this at the moment to find key sites in many London areas but a number of private mid-market restaurant companies like Wildwood in particular are continuing to expand aggressively in 2011 against a continual influx of new concepts looking for space."

Wildwood currently operates other sites in Billericay, Chelmsford, Cobham, Gerrards Cross, Gloucester Road, Hornchurch, Loughton, and Maidstone.

The Wildwood concept is based upon a medley of freshly grilled food, pastas and stone-baked pizzas.

Hi Mpilot. I hold some TAST shares and keep an eye on this board; so you aren't just talking to yourself!

I read somewhere that they will be opening a branch at Canary Wharf. Does anyone have any more details on that?

Having just sold Carcluccio on takeover announcement I'm buying in here. The Dim T idea I guess isn't working, but I ate in a Wildwood the other day and I was quite impressed, these guys have experience. I think this will gradually start to move ahead from here.

This is a bad time for any restaurant chain; a really bad time to launch a new chain; and the pizza/pasta market today is mature if not actually over-served, whereas when the family had a success with Italian, there was far less competition, the market was not nearly so mature, and you could ride an up-wave. Still a SELL at anything approaching 40p.

provide good value for money in the sector you are in and you will succeed even in a recession. people trade down and pizza is at the lower end of the market and will survive. good value, good food good service and people will return and tell their friends. poor value, poor food poor service and people will tell everyone they meet to avoid a place

harold,

the Kayes were very kind to my portfolio with ASK many years ago !

their real flair is with Italian NOT this Dim T malakey -- but the market has moved on since ASK and we are now in a Recession !

the dynamics when ASK was launched and the sustained good times is simply not the same as now -- the execution risk is consideraby higher and frankly when up against established competitors this new brand will suffer -- even the name does not sound Italian !! compared to Prezzo or Carluccios
