10/10/2015 08:35 | M T Glass I have enjoyed looking in on this thread and have been a fan of battery power for many years. If you are interested in the next generation of power have a look at CPX As I believe this will help recover some of the losses from this one and also look to be very interesting as long term play. | vauch
10/10/2015 08:10 | Another local newspaper relying on UK company Tanfield, for news of something on its own doorstep. I wonder if Smith OK'd the news release by Tanfield? Or are angry about it? : | m.t.glass
09/10/2015 13:28 | I guess they only wanted Smith as a stepping stone into the US, and have perhaps decided the Smith connection is not so useful after all. Though they might exploit it in some way even if Smith goes under. | m.t.glass
09/10/2015 09:01 | M.T. - Many thanks for these links. It is interesting to note that, on your second link, Smith only gets a brief mention and also there is no written profile given for Smith as there is for FGD's other partner companies. | sorksandnorks

07/10/2015 20:53 | Let us forget about Smith and try to get some information forward on Snorkel. It is incredible how little we actually get of information from a company we own 49% of and which comprises almost all of our equity. I hope to see an AGM called soon enabling us to pose questions to management and demanding proper info on Snorkel. | multiplural
07/10/2015 19:18 | Smith EV owes landlords at KCI more than half a million Oct 7, 2015, 8:25am CDT Smith Electric Vehicles Corp. owes the Kansas City Aviation Department some money. Aviation Department CFO John Green said Tuesday that the Kansas City-based electric truck maker owes $543,345.83 in unpaid rent for its about 100,000 square-feet of space located near Kansas City International Airport. In an email, Green said Smith Electric — which may be facing closure of its operations or bankruptcy— has been working through financial difficulties for some time. The company fell behind on rent "a few years back" and the Aviation Department worked out an agreement in order to help the company recover financially. That agreement called for Smith Electric making its current rent payments while paying down the amount in arrears. "They were able to honor that agreement until April of this year," Green said. "Since that time, they have been unable to meet either their current or past due amounts." Green said the company owed $285,683.57 in back rent payments in April and has accrued an additional $257,662.26 in rent payments since then. The company located its assembly facility at the airport in 2009, with plans to make and sell a line of electric commercial vehicles. It has paid the Aviation Department more than $2.6 million in that time, Green said. But the company has struggled to sell its vehicles, which cost much more than gas-powered trucks. "Since Smith Electric leases space within a larger facility and has had little to no production activity over the last few months, there has been little if any cost to the Aviation Department to allow them to remain as we attempted to work with them through their difficulties in hopes of their return to financial viability," Green said. | m.t.glass
07/10/2015 06:58 | Local press in Missouri seem to be reliant on Tanfield for info about Smith: | m.t.glass
06/10/2015 11:24 | As some have said, Smith isn't reflected in the share price and hasn't been for a long time but the MMs will still mark the stock down on negative news. In some ways shareholders would be better off with Tanfield having a zero holding so the price wasn't dragged down in future if there's more negative news. IMO I don't see shareholders making a return on Snorkel for another 12-24 months. It would be good to see more details on their financials though to confirm this as that's the only reason I haven't bought back in as don't want to be holding for 2+ years. | wishful_thinking

28/9/2015 10:10 | Muppet at his best! multiplural - 17 Oct 2014 - 12:56:41 - 1219 of 1568 The value for Tanfield of the Smith shares at the price used in this latest round is around 5,6 pence per share without calculating any value on the warrants held. I feel pretty sure the value when listed on Nyse or Nasdaq will go up, and the warrants will then also carry a decent value. On top of this is the deal on Snorkel where a minimum value of 39p within the next three years will arise. Personally I think it will be before, and I can strongly recommend seeing this interview with Don Ahern where he mentions that it could be as early as this year: | evil_doctor_facilier
