Very good update. This is a very well managed company who have steered it through difficult markets by tight cost control and being very dynamic in product innovation. Looks to me like they have a very strong team who can take the company forward now to strong growth and profits. Current valuation is below assets and its generating a couple of million per annum perhaps 3m this year given that they generated 2m in the last 6 months. That could put it on a pe of 2 or 3. The very competitive bike part is smaller than the toy side. With the pound starting to recover against the dollar the margins should be helped also.
So perhaps turnover for 2019 somewhere between 33 and 38. Net profit before tax 2.0 to 3.5m with pe ratio with share price of 1.40 just 2 or 3 and assets well over market cap so seems ridiculously undervalued. I think after the first half profits of only half a million were expected not 1.5 m or so now penciled in. The Castle Bromwich building alone has a market value of over 3.1m which is half market cap.

I think we should get a trading update within a week if history repeats...

I also think the low rating cannot last much longer. Shareholders need to be strong as they are the owners and deserve a much better return from all the money invested over the last few years.

I am expecting the BoD to take the lions share of any value created by the company.

I'm hoping for something else.

I have a small holding here as I thought selling imported bicycles was a straight forward business. I'm just a penny punter

We should be due a trading statement in two weeks as usually first week of March.

What are we expecting or hoping for ?

Woozle1 yes you are right. I found this article

One of the few things that seems to have come true, the issue I mean.
However I don't think Blair and Major had fully realised the implication namely that a proper Brexit would appear to be impossible because all sides refuse to have any kind of border.

Anyway pound continues to go up which is good news.

Pound surging higher vs USD is good news for Tandem. It looks like Brexit has become a damage limitation exercise now that many people are realising that the N Ireland situation has made it so difficult to undertake. Strange that the biggest issue by far was never mentioned by remainers or Brexiteers at time of referendum. If that had been known at the time it would have made for a very different discussion at the time. Still that was the gamble I suppose at the time.

Are the Directors going to pay back the £172,000 bonuses they paid themselves in April this year ?

Why don't Tandem nor any of their brands feature at this show especially considering it is right on their doorstep ?

Seven years David ? From well it fell heavily in 2004, it has done nothing since.

I make that fourteen years.

Oh, and anyone who owned before 2004 is well and truly stuffed

The share price has done nothing for the past seven years and the only ones who seem to benefit are the directors who are drawing very significant salaries compared to the market cap and similar companies. Would it not be better for shareholders to seek a buyer just like Evans Cycles are doing ?

From the above comments, estimates are that revenue was substantially down in Jan-March, possibly 50%. The accounts were signed on 11th April.

Now, presumably the bonuses could not be computed until the annual accounts were signed. And, knowing the awful 1Q they still decided that bonuses of £172,000 were appropriate. Or am I getting this wrong and the £172,000 was paid in the calendar year 2017,and relates to the previous year ?? Surely not.

They have no shame

They mentioned weather as just one of the factors. Lack of consumer confidence and de stocking and the events at TOYSRUS perhaps just as important. I suspect April was probably the really bad month as that was after last outlook statement.

Totally agree.
However I would say that jan to march we were probably 50% down as until this week the hottest day of the year was mid April and MAY and JUNE have been the best for 50 years.
Frankly I don't believe them.

The shareholders seem to be "something they have to deal with" rather than the owners.
I am hoping Mr Bragg can shake things up.
There is a very poor market here but I have breakeven on first half and a million profit in the second half.
Lets hope they take a pay cut!

If sales can drop 30% due to snow and bad weather affecting outdoor leisure then there is also the reverse affect when from April through to September it looks like we are going to have the best UK weather for many years.

I am keen to see the company provide more information and in a timely fashion and to help investors by providing company presentations. The company currently do zero investor relations work and the dividend is negligible compared to earnings and certainly compared to executive remuneration.

This was the current trading outlook at the end of March in a generally positive update ahead of the results.....

Nevertheless, we have some concerns about the levels of stock some of our national retailer customers are carrying forward from the prior year in both toys and outdoor product categories and we expect this to have a negative impact on performance of the Group in the first quarter of the year. Consequently, revenue to date and our forward order book are currently behind the previous year.

Behind the previous year ?? How much and why not be clearer with figures to help investors....At that stage surely they knew it was 30% whilst the share price went from £1 to £1.60 on the back of investors and shareholders feeling positive and with a very low p/e rating. Those investors will have lost trust and so the rating will stay low for a reason. Expectations are handled badly there are no broker notes or forecasts but directors take all the rewards !!

I could not attend the Agm but did they mention the new internet strategy at the meeting yesterday or are they keeping shareholders in the dark on that too ?

My guess is a loss of a few hundred k in H1. If overhang of stocks cleared by retailers the market could bounce back quickly.

The 3% threshold I calculate to be 141230.

I hold close to 122,000 possibly 5 more depending on today.

Spoken to Graham and he is happy to put the other side.

I don't think its that bad.
If we are 30% down now we must have been 50% down in first 12 weeks as the weather has been good since then.

I remain a buyer
