Debt has not been paid off as I understand it. Its just overall net cash. Best to pay off debt first. I would rather they invest any spare cash. Plus Brexit uncertainty could drag on for years so pound is vulnerable which would damage margins plus consumer spending perhaps. Its not the time to take any risk.

All debt has gone they are net cash.
They will be adding 2/3 million to that in current year.

Have you seen how much we have spent on acquisitions in last few years?

Plus we bought the Birmingham site.

The business spins of plenty of cash and its time long term holders saw some return.

A normal dividend policy is 1/3 to 1/2 of EPS.
That would equate to 15/16p last year and we get 4.6p

The dividend will then drive the price in my opinion.

Yes those sort of figures are possible but why a special dividend? Best to eliminate all debt and build say 4 or 5m in cash to remove any working capital restraints and provide war chest for any sudden downturns and perhaps bolt on acquisitions. So a steadily increasing dividend is best policy.

got a 1000 at 180

I can see EPS 45/50p and a special dividend next year?

Huge turnaround and net asset value should be around 230/240.
THe business is then in for free............Fair value is well north of 300p and 400p if they make 50p this year giving p/e of 8

Great results given the difficult economic environment as expected. Second half was fantastic. Optimistic outlook. Surely a massive re-rating is due.
Pe of 10 on these results would be a share price of over 3 quid for example.
Well done to the management and team at Tandem who have played the long game rather than quick fixes and built a great solid diverse business over many years. I think there are going to be some happy shareholders.

Looks like Brexit mess is encouraging people to stay at home and rather than travel given the Easyjet news yesterday. That should help as people spend more of their cash in the UK.

I think the dividend policy is fine. I think they need to build a very healthy cash balance given the working capital demands and allow for the potential of the odd bad period. Especially with the potential for a disorganised Brexit which could hammer consumer confidence for a while. Consistent profits and growth in profitability plus a strengthening balance sheet will eventually pull the share price higher. A large cash balance would eliminate risk which will also help.

We could do with them to present at Mello to get some new investors on board and as i said a dividend policy that pays out 25% of EPS.

This should still allow for the lumpy good and bad years ( i am hoping we are past the bad days)........and say 15p in current year give the shares a serious income rating.

Its time we holders shared in the rewards.
The market in the shares needs sorting at 12% spread is far too high.

Very few shares to be had TBH these have to be worth much more.
The second half must of been around 2m profit and first half has continued.
Could we dream of up to 4m this year?

Tiger, yes. 28 June 2018:

Chairman, Mervyn Keene, will make the following statement at today's AGM:

"Trading in the first part of the year has been difficult, with revenue for the 25 week period to 24 June approximately 30% behind the prior year period for a number of reasons.”

But yes, you are right it was the Finals on April 11 that took it up, and the AGM statement that brought it crashing down.

Not much !
However to get close to last year they probably made 2 m in second half and we are doing better in first half.
Therefore 40/50 p eps in current year should see shares at 6 or 7 times earnings and 300 p
Time will tell

Well, the Tandem roller coaster continues.

An AGM statement in June that was positive and took the shares up to 160p.

Then three months later, it turns out revenue was down 29% in 1H and TND lurches into a loss. The shares crash down to 100p again.

But now, revenue is back up 6%, leaving revenue down just 12% for the year ( is that good btw ?) yet cost cutting means profit is almost unchanged on last year. Cue the share price racing back up to 160p.

Now 1Q has started very strongly.

What could possibly go wrong ?

To get a following the following needs to happen.
The company pay for a note and promote the company more
The MM need to sort out the spread. much of today was 145/165. Even though you could get inside this I am not sure for those using on line accounts
Stop fudging the numbers and give more information in trading updates.
Shareholders need a bigger share of the profits.Maybe 25% of EPS as a starting point. If we hit 30p last year we should be getting say 7.5p

I don't recall them being so bullish before. With bikes stabalised (hoho) and Squish growing, everything else seems to be going well. The most important part the toys are doing very well. If all comes good then could easily do between 40p to 60p per share. If they can repeat it the year after then could rerate to pe of say 10 so over a couple of years plenty of scope for a multi bagger.

So profits only just below last year so can we expect close to 30p for last year?

Current year started well ( have they been so bullish before?)
What can we expect for 2019?

You have to fancy 40p plus eps so at 159 we are 4x earnings.

Just bought what I could and nudged it up a bit more.
Can only see 12500 left with Peels then it could race to 200p.

davidosh your opinion?
