31/1/2022 08:46 | AMT I think closer to 80p on that turnover. stock availability improving .......good news home and garden up 9% e mobility up 70% e bikes up over 10% order book materially above last year ( which was a record high) profit well ahead of last years record and slightly ahead of current market forecasts The Negatives 2022 has begun more slowly............ Last January was up 75% due to the backlog of orders to be filled. That was never going to be achieved this year. Amazed the price has not jumped but I am back buying so not bothered Good luck Tiger | castleford tiger
31/1/2022 08:43 | >>As a result, the Group expects .... FY21 profit before tax expected to be well ahead of the prior year and slightly ahead of the current market expectations>> An 11/10/21 piece by Simon Thompson reported expected 2021 eps of 74.7p so yes, I guess we're expecting 75p or 76p. | zho
31/1/2022 08:06 | Yes but order book ahead of last year. EPS probably about 75p | amt
31/1/2022 07:29 | LOL, fair enough:- 2022 has begun more slowly for the Group, with some customers delaying orders into future months. However, we remain confident that we have secured the strongest wheeled toy licences and have some exciting developments planned for the year. | cwa1

31/1/2022 07:21 | Trading and operations Further to the trading update provided by the Company on 7 December 2021, the Christmas trading period saw continued robust performance from the Group's toys, sports & leisure business and, whilst the rate of growth achieved in the second half of 2021 did not match the levels seen in the first half, turnover was still over 7% ahead of the same period in the prior year, despite the ongoing logistics impacts previously reported. As we reported in our interim results, revenue in the first half of the year was approximately 14% ahead of the equivalent period in the previous year. As a result, the Group expects to report FY21 revenue of £40.9m, with FY21 profit before tax expected to be well ahead of the prior year and slightly ahead of the current market expectations. | cwa1
30/1/2022 21:09 | I would of thought we were in a closed period. The close period (or closed period) is the time between the completion of a listed company's financial results and the announcing of these results to the public. The close period is typically regarded as the one-month period preceding the release of a company's quarterly results, and the two-month period before the release of its annual results. They will have numbers just a few days after year end | castleford tiger
28/1/2022 22:38 | Thank you All, I had missed the January commitment in the December TS | shanklin
28/1/2022 19:11 | Overheads remain tightly controlled and within our expectations, and as a result we expect profitability for the full year to be in line with or slightly ahead of current market expectations and we look forward to updating shareholders further in January 2022, following the Christmas trading period. As this Monday is the last day of January and good news generally gets announced on Mondays rather than Fridays I am pleased they are releasing on Monday if keeping to their word. Additionally if the update is negative compared to the last one then I do not think that the chairman would have been allowed to trade his shares earlier this week as he would surely know what will be said. | davidosh

24/1/2022 17:24 | Aye, I know your views well, Tiger. I only wish I had been brave enough to listen to you when it was sub-£2! Funnily enough, I have a historic connection with the Dawes family via marriage. My first 'proper' bike was a green Dawes Dalesman with 10 gears which I thought was the bees knees (it was over 50 years ago!) and then some bu88er went and stole it! | jeffian
24/1/2022 17:17 | Jeff I think you bought well. We have a EPS for last year in the high 70,s possibly more. I expect the net assets at year end to be over £20 m A strong order book of 30 million and net cash of maybe £3 m after borrowings. So nav per share is circa £4 and the p/e under 7 x I didn’t get any today Tiger | castleford tiger
24/1/2022 16:57 | I have been following this thread for some time and had set my heart on entering at 500p. I missed the boat by a few pence on a couple of occasions and then it ran up to 650-odd and I thought I'd missed the boat. Managed to get a few today at 506-508 by buying in small lots of 1000 shares (more seemed to drive the quote). What with Putin, Boris and the economy, it seems certain that there will be more volatility to come, so it may not look like a good short term bet, but I'm a buy-and-hold merchant and am happy it will come good in due course. Anyway, if it gets cheaper, I can always buy some more! | jeffian |
