06/9/2016 18:29 | THE BUSINESS is there its all on line and direct to customer. Tiger | castleford tiger
04/9/2016 19:51 | Hard times at Evans The Sunday Times: Evans Cycles has parted company with its chief executive little more than a year after the company changed hands. Nick Wilkinson, who took the top job at the retailer in 2011, left last week | my retirement fund
02/9/2016 20:41 | could be well right Tiger | mrshaungcm
02/9/2016 19:01 | I think you are wrong. tiger | castleford tiger
31/8/2016 23:17 | No there is no additional tariff on importing Bikes for EU countries tiger ! Yes the currency has been smashed, there is no way on earth Tandem will have hedged for this outcome. They are going to be in for a hell of a battle with the big boys, many whom would have longer term hedging or natural hedging because they share revenues in Euros or Dollars. I rather suspect a very serious profits warning here in good time. | my retirement fund
31/8/2016 21:42 | Bike trade - IBDs having a torrid time Recent price increases of 10/15% not helping a lot Many shops 10/20% down | mrshaungcm
24/8/2016 14:24 | Rather expecting the offer to be dropped down a few ticks and perhaps the bid as well at this rate | my retirement fund
14/7/2016 15:55 | Halfords reporting a terrible quarter of bike sales due to bad weather. | my retirement fund
11/7/2016 13:28 | Yes, I'm not really aware anything that has anything like 44% CF. Just about most things are certainly less than 10% and manythings a few percent. The only sector your start to see high tariffs are things like food stuffs | my retirement fund
11/7/2016 12:54 | 44% figure was given at AGM. Not sure I said bicycles but goods from China. Is import duty /tariff the same? tiger | castleford tiger
08/7/2016 14:41 | CT, 44% ????? if you import bicycles from china there is no import duty payable within the EU. see regards | my retirement fund
08/7/2016 08:10 | My retirement Fund. The reason is this year we have a full year from ESC that will add to profits. Remember it was making a million. I think all told we will make 1.5 million this year which is EPS about 33p up from 21p last year. Whilst longer term the effect of the USD v Sterling may have an effect I will outline reasons why it may not. Lets look at a 15%. 1) We will be able to trade with China direct that currently has a 44% EU tariff. 2) Due to local exchange rates the cost of the product in local terms is still falling. 3) Shipping rates are still at all time lows. 4) Small price increases from 2017 will help mitigate anything not covered above. If there was no increase in profit this year because the existing group was down ,we would still have EPS over 20p a share. The company has net assets and they are real ( property etc) far above market cap. Can anyone tell me these are not worth more than 5x earnings/ Finally you have a 4% yield to boot ( I think 4p this year) it was 3.75 p last year. With interest rates coming down that looks good to me. tiger | castleford tiger
07/7/2016 16:21 | Remember they hedge a decent amount. | rndm355
07/7/2016 15:25 | Not really sure why this is not falling as sterling being hammered will lop at least 10% of the bottom line here and possibly a lot more than that. Perhaps its just a delayed reaction ? | my retirement fund
30/6/2016 07:32 | Thanks for that tiger. Agree that they do need to try and take out more smaller shareholders - but buyback a unlikely to achieve it. They need a tender offer biased towards smaller shareholders - possibly at a small premium | 18bt
29/6/2016 17:29 | Afternoon. There were just two of us there. Simon Bragg and myself. Close on 10% between us. Company bullish but did not have the Multiple deal on bikes this year. New web site roll out starts August. Up to 1 a month. New buyers and new teams on the other business. I feel fairly sure that we will see a reasonable rise in full year profits. They have ESC this year at that was making a million a year. If it adds 400k to our 1 million this year with all the changes going on ,I will be happy. The company described us laying the foundations of a pyramid. large base ready to roll. Simon asked them when and if they could promote the company. A brokers note etc. Cannot say they were thrilled but my suggestion is to sweep up another 2000 or so small shareholders into treasury or on to people like myself or Simon who are building a stake. It must cost us a fortune to service. anything in particular you needed to know? Oh I asked if we could have the KPI targets in advance. tiger | castleford tiger
23/6/2016 11:06 | For those not aware of the Agm date and info.... 8. Annual General Meeting The Annual General Meeting will be held at 11:00 a.m. on 28 June 2016 at 35 Tameside Drive, Castle Bromwich, Birmingham, B35 7AG. Unfortunately I cannot be there on that date as two of my other major holdings have Agms in London on the same day but I would be very interested to hear how it goes and the answers given on the day to shareholder questions. I do think a presentation in London this year would help raise the profile of the company as a once a year meeting for very few in Birmingham is very poor engagement with shareholders and indeed potential investors. | davidosh
23/6/2016 07:09 | a weak pound for the bike trade aint good - any increase in prices at the juncture of the "cycle" of the bike trade would be bad for in dependant retailers | mrshaungcm
23/6/2016 06:47 | Feeling relieved that it looks odd on a Brexit loose vote. The pound should strengthen further as uncertainty is removed. Perhaps over 1.5 vs dollar. That will be good for Tandem and only a small improvement in gross margin would be significant to bottom line. | amt
22/6/2016 18:10 | agm ANYONE? I WILL BE THERE. tIGER | castleford tiger
21/6/2016 09:01 | The pound has been strong vs usd in last few days and a vote to stay in should see further strength. Commodity prices still near the bottom should help margins I would have thought. Brexit, then who knows. | amt
13/5/2016 18:29 | anyone spotted we are now 150p to buy. which seemed to have gone up from 140p ( without a share being traded) tiger | castleford tiger |
