Good news I think. It seems to be no surprise to the market. Perhaps the details will take a while to sink in.

FibreNation deal done for £200m, subject to final shareholder approval.

1.If Dunstone and Martin Hughes/ToscaFund have already agreed to vote for the deal, rest assured it is a good price.

2. But it is also outstanding news that TalkTalk will now be an "Anchor Tenant" on CityFibre's full fibre network. It should be noted that CityFibre have aspirations to pass up to EIGHT MILLION homes/businesses.

3. Clearly more to the rapport between TalkTalk and Tosca than has perhaps hitherto met the eye. Is this just another (but important) move in achieving the final corporate end-game?

4. A cash consideration of £200million against the Gross asset value of FibreNation of £47million appears to be an attractive outcome for Talktalk which now can rely on CityFibre to provide the necessary and costly infrastructure spend to further roll-out the FibreNation network.

According to City AM, Goldman-backed CityFibre telecoms firm are on the brink of £200m TalkTalk deal, as per their late Thursday 16th January article.

"TalkTalk declined to comment. City Fibre could not be reached"

FibreNation and parent TalkTalk.

A perhaps unusual (if not prophetic?) way for a subsidiary to describe its ownership status by its parent:-


"We're CURRENTLY owned and funded by TalkTalk...."


The word CURRENTLY is to be noted.
