Struggling to see what that has to do with TALK regardless of the merits or otherwise of the comment.

Those scumbag Gippo's who killed that young policeman have just been found guilty of manslaughter. Am I on my own in thinking they should have the book thrown at them.

Life with a minimum of 20 years at least. It is time Gipsy scum and traveller scum should be dealt with harshly, these vermin think because they are in a minority as our stupid PC laws say, they can flout the law.

Time the laws were changed!

Bookbroker, TT are winning wholesale fibre connections off BT, virgin and others. This is quality b2b users on 3 to 5 year contracts. I would say that out of 10 quotes, they would win 6 on price. This model is all about recurring revenue :-)

The problem is, that consolidation argument has been made for (at least) the last 5 years while the shareprice has drifted inexorably (it seems) downwards. One day, hopefully, it will come to pass, but when? Article linked below from 5 years ago.

Takeover speculation in The Telegraph.

"Given the consolidation that has already taken and is taking place in the telecoms sector, the potential for a takeover of TalkTalk now from one of the sector’s biggest beasts has to be high.

Clearly such a deal could not happen without the backing of Sir Charles and fellow Carphone founder David Ross, who owns a 12pc stake in TalkTalk. But, despite Wednesday’s 10.3pc price rise, the shares are 40pc below where they were in June, and a well-timed, well-priced bid might be just the tonic – given an acquirer would undoubtedly stamp its brand on the service and have deeper pockets to be able to spend more on internet security. "

I suspect they are a buy .. mainly because I expect consolidation .. would seem obvious with customer base TT has ..my tgt is 120

Sure, Harrison talks the talk, but fails to walk the walk. Bad debts being conservative, as she states, does that they are higher. Why, and what sort of customers do TT. have, the bottom end of society, if this is the case then presumably every other network supplier of internet services has the same problem.

At long last, somebody is starting to understand TT. Look at Gamma, up 53% since March the 23rd

I understand your rationale 1224, nonetheless it would surprise me if Tosca were hedging their bets without the market being aware of their strategy. I think it would be very straightforward for to raise their threshold above 30% if they wished. I think they are more interested in consolidation within the telecoms market, and would like to engineer an alliance with another supplier. It would make sense for many company’s within this sector to improve their presence to the home, why it is taking so long for market dynamics to assert I’m not sure. Dunstone can not possibly be happy where the price is, but he is powerless to some extent, and what can he do about it. seems in weakened state after the failure of CPW within Dixon’s. He got lucky there, likewise the Best Buy deal, but that may be running out with Talk. But this company has been grossly mismanaged since its split with CPW., it could be in clover if they had not been so generous with payouts when they could ill-afford them.

Book, that could be a possibility with Tosca. Think about it, they short the stock off market, take the price down and make some margin on the leverage to balance the loss on their equity. Become visible with a huge buy order to take them over 30% and make an offer at say 40% above today's close at 1.05. Clearly that would result in a paper loss on their historic averages, but gives them control???

Sunstone needs to step away from the Chair here, he is the problem, this company needs a chairman who is impartial and unbiased, this is what is holding this company back. I am surprised that he is happy to let the value of his holding just ebb away, and that off pretty much anyone else in this, it is becoming hard to swallow. He got a good screw out of merging Dixon’s for what became a zombie asset, Carphone Warehouse, huge mistake by Dixon’s, same might happen here!

Just obscene what dividends Dunstone has had out this company since its inception, nigh on £250mln incl. tax. But they should have been paying down their debt instead of paying dividends from cash flow, simply disgusting and disgraceful avarice!

It would be interesting to know quite why this company valuation is under so much pressure, is it selling, is it because of the mention of bad debts in the last set of results, or is it because the market dynamics could be changing. Impossible to tell but for smaller shareholders who believed that having two major shareholders would likely lead to corporate action seems hard to swallow. There was talk of corporate action some time ago, but that seems to have frazzled, are Tosca shorting the stock through other instruments, but the rating may be just reflecting the lowly growth prospects, all the more reason for bigger shareholders to act.
