01/9/2020 15:14 | Idiots running this company, Dunstone and Harrison should step down, destroying shareholder value. only consolation is that his wealth is sinking with the company! | bookbroker

12/8/2020 15:49 | For anyone who wants an insight into the modus operandi of highly-regarded Martin Hughes , Founder of Tosca Asset Management which has a 29% stake in TalkTalk, there is a rare and somewhat detailed press article in February this year in The Australian Finance Review:- hXXps://www.afr.com/ The section headed "Seizing The Moment" (although admittedly pre-pandemic) makes interesting food for thought. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
11/8/2020 09:35 | It is interesting to revisit the following extracts from the recent 27/7 Sky News article about Tosca's initial approach last year to TalkTalk at 135p:- " "Toscafund is aware that UK broadband fibre and mobile participants are undergoing a phase of consolidation with all the benefits that will bring, and believes that the 135p-per-share valuation of 2019 represents a deep line in the sand, given that TalkTalk is in a better condition in 2020 than it was in 2019." The fund manager's statement appears to imply that it is keen to see further takeover offers emerge for TalkTalk - shares in which closed at 74.8p on Monday." and "The offer was rejected by TalkTalk's board, which is led by founder and executive chairman Sir Charles Dunstone, on the basis that it failed to provide sufficient value for investors, according to City sources". ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa

06/8/2020 10:20 | Not only has there been significant DIRECTOR BUYING as detailed in recent posts but the ESOT (Employee Share Option Trust) has been a heavy buyer:- 12/09/19 - ESOT buys c. 230,000 shares @ 107.9p 21/11/19 - ESOT buys c. 500,000 shares @ 104.8p 21/11/19 - ESOT buys c. 473,400 shares @ 104.8p 24/02/20 - ESOT buys c. 213,000 shares @ 116.6p 17/04/20 - ESOT buys c. 1,774,200 shares @ 83p 06/08/20 - ESOT buys c. 22,429,000 shares @ 74.9928p 06/08/20 - ESOT buys c. 94,000 shares @ 73.2949 In just a year, the ESOT has bought some 25,700,000 shares at a cost of approximately £19.9 million. That is A LOT of ESOT buying. And the PACE, SIZE and VELOCITY of ESOT purchases have recently been gathering momentum fast. With approx 1.146 billion shares in issue, the Company ESOT has bought a stake of some 2.24% in just eleven months, this being in addition to any shares they may have held prior. The following situation is now apparent:- - Significant recent DIRECTOR BUYING by Sir Charles Dunstone and other senior management and Board Directors, including the CEO - Massive BUYING by TOSCA up to 29.1% bringing it to just under an important City Takeover Code threshold. - Heavy BUYING by the Company ESOT One thing is for sure, they are not doing all this buying just for fun. WHAT DO THEY ALL KNOW??? Something is likely cooking and it may or may not perhaps now be coming to the boil sooner rather than later. The recent revelations to SkyNews about last year's initial take-over approach were likely not without purpose in my view. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
06/8/2020 10:01 | Company must be optimistic if the trustees of the employee share scheme go into the market and buy 22mln. Shares! | bookbroker

05/8/2020 11:39 | bad timing 1gw.sod,s law. | sr2day
03/8/2020 12:16 | I see somewhat of a read across to Ted baker, another Tosca investment that has gone awry. | bookbroker
03/8/2020 12:15 | I don’t say I blame you, I kinda think that the size of Tosca’s holding is having a negative effect here now, it’s clear that they were unable to convince Dunstone to back corporate action last year, and maybe Martin Gilbert and the backers of their funds are getting frustrated at the loss in value here. The market knows when the pips are squeaking and are stretching this valuation to the downside. The business side of TalkTalk seemed to appear to be improving, so apart from some potential bad debts, it seems the company is under attack for other reasons. Maybe they Tosca looking for an exit, and they are going to squeeze Martin Hughes hard. | bookbroker
03/8/2020 12:09 | I've sold some today, taking a big loss, to free up funds for investing elsewhere. The long downward trend is frustrating, while waiting for corporate action or a demonstrable turnaround. | 1gw
31/7/2020 19:45 | Someone should write to the chiefs here and ask them why they wish to see this company at zero, because that is where I assume they propose to be! | bookbroker
31/7/2020 09:57 | Can definitely imagine A problem with the Tosca holding here now, and Dunstone’s intransigence over last year’s advance. What is more likely to happen is Dunstone will be running the rule over this with a view to taking it private and screwing Tosca in the process, because I don’t see the backers of Tosca being particularly happy with where the valuation is, and they may well start pulling their funds, that is if Tosca has the funds to redeem their money. But it will play into other parties to take an interest here, as for long suffering smaller shareholders in Talk we are going to be toasted as a result along with Tosca. | bookbroker |
