Almen, sorry if you think an old thread can't be rekindled, just thought the TITLE was appropriate, regarding the share price.;-)

lopez, in your opinion how much % of contracts need to be lost, due to a recession ?

Their order book is overflowing so I personally believe they can take a few hits on the order book, going forward..;-)

How will the company be affected from potential reduction in building and refurbishment contracts after the Governmnet cut backs yet to be announced?

You generally do get silence if you post on old threads.

Perhaps jab but the divi is still a large perportion of earnings so I think it could get reduced still but who knows, I'm only guessing based on it's proportion of earnings.

I can't buy a chart like that tho - nothing to say it has bottomed imo and the rally over the past few days is on low volume too.

It has hit 104p twice in the last two years as major support - I'd be interested in buying if it hit that again and held. If it does hit that and I'm not looking in here then give me a shout and I might join you.

Looks reasonably safe here and reckon 104p is the worst it's likely to go but hope you're right and it turns out spot on for you.
Good luck.

Okay CR.

That's a very good point your have raised there the little worry of maintaining the current dividend, but it has already been reduced, only a few years ago they were paying 30p a share. They have now bought out a few smaller companies,so the worry of not cash left to maintain the divi, however, in time will be a benefit to their future profits, surely ? So why would anyone think to why they should slash the existing divi price. Surely, with an order book over flowing at present it could just be scare mongering ?

I'm rather confident that CTO has hit a temporary trading bottom and it's up from this point. OK, yes there is better shares about at the moment and there's no reason why this company can't rally 20% from here in a very short term, I believe it's well over sold, plus a longer term safe-ish risk, with the possibility of a bleak winter in-front of us. Isable as well ;-)

Hmm, dunno about CTO yet, the chart doesn't say buy does it?

Chart doesn't look positive still imo.

How long can they keep paying out the divi at this size? I think they have to reduce it at some point and when the do the shares take a hit then - don;t think I want to be holding if that happens.

Easier money to be made elsewhere imo.

Hello Mr Rebel.

I would appreciate your opinion on CTO< putting our preveious banter behind us, not measioning "Bob the builder" ;-)

I would think that this is worth a punt now. due to a few issues not being noticed with this little smart company.

Wouldn't you not agree ?

Best of love

I'm sorry to hear you took a heavy loss, "Don't catch a falling knife" the old investment saying goes, but in doing so I've lost an ear and one nipple, been very close to losing my man hood once or twice, but it hasn't stop me from doing it.

Hope you soon recover your loses, me old mucker.

Baled out today, the chart says it all. Should have been a lot more alert to the FD leaving so abruptly earlier in the year - it's always a worry when that happens. Anyway, bit the bullet and took a 25% loss. Serves me right for letting my greed for the dividend blind me to where this company is in the commercial building cycle. Really hope it rallies, though, for all you still in. Good luck.

We've just had the Mid Autumn Festival in my part of the world and last night was a full moon. This was a good time to do a tea leaf reading, so last night I conducted one for my T Clarke shares.

The tea leaf pattern results told me that today would be the end of a brief retrace and that the price would climb to at least 1.20 before close. Definitely getting a positive BUY indication. It also indicated that news would come soon and lastly the leaf residue at the 5 o'clock position went half way up the cup indicating that I will probably be a millionaire within 2 years.

To ensure a premium quality reading I used PG Tips.

Thanks for that, but their order book for the future is very strong, could be worth a decent punt at these levels.

jab118,

Their ability to keep paying that dividend is the issue, especially with the cash pile being so diminished through acquisitions.

I exited after the interims, FWIW.
