Just realised what you mean🙄. Sorry.

Those sorts of models are not easy to set up and clearly haven't been done yet otherwise they would have told us. They have run similar models with other viruses and seen positive effects. Timbo might know if they are trying to do such models since he spoke to them.....

Sorry but I don't understand the question. Can you elaborate what you mean.

Just a general question.

They are beginning tests this week on patients but surely they would have grown this virus in the Lab already and had some positive results.

Just hope they can produce enough in time for those that need it.

And I should stress any well argued, factual, negative posts are equally welcomed. As always we need a balanced debate...

I learn't something new from this article published yesterday;

"Research conducted in Hong Kong revealed that patients who recovered from the coronavirus had sustained lung damage, and therefore it is possible that patients may not fully recover their lung function following the infection. Synairgen’s SNG001, a formulation of IFN-beta-1a for direct delivery to the lungs via nebulization, will, therefore, prevent cell damage in a similar fashion to that of MS patients"

So potentially for the high risk group taking SNG001;

- Benefit as a preventative measure before infection
- Recover quicker when infected and not need a ventilator
- Still a nasty illness leading to recovery rather than death
- Lungs not so badly damaged after recovery
- Beneficial in fighting ARDS ?(see Faron)
- Buys time until a vaccine is available in 18 months time

Taking this a step further would mean that the world could get back to "normal" quicker if it changes the disease to a nasty inllness instead of one that kills vulnerable people.

Overall, if it works, a real game changer.

I think adding a zero to the current share price (for starters) would not be unreasonable if we are going to play a part in managing this virus.

Synairgen to start trial of SNG001 in COVID-19 imminently

"Synairgen's other current activities with COVID-19:
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Synairgen has been approached by, and is in discussion with, a number of other medical, scientific, and Governmental bodies (both in the UK, US and internationally) seeking to investigate novel therapeutics in this area."

I agree that is possible. Manufacturing enough drug at risk is going to be an issue and that problem could be solved by a Pharma deal. AZ's Medimmune division has various biological drugs on the market and should have ample manufacturing capability for proteins! They are the most likely partner IMHO because of their previous involvement in the drug....

SYNAIRGEN gets a mention as a cheap stock compared to the other billion dollar Corona companies which are nowhere near as Synairgen.

Eff may well have a workable cure for Covid-19, who needs revenue if you can provide that, the rest will follow in spades
