and..assuming UHB is the benchmark for timescales, would that not mean Southampton NHS Trust who started dosing on 31st March should have completed their recruitment by say 07th April and therefore trial could have finished on 21st April - Tuesday already gone?

UHB tweeted on 08th April that they had recruited their first patient.
The latest UHB news says"was able to finish recruitment within a week"
So UHB trials started on 15th April. Allowing the estimated 14 days for the duration of the trial, then UHB will be finished on 29th April - next wednesday? Correct?

Torres...might be just the way the article was written....but it was all past tense
"SG016, which looked at the effectiveness ......" Thought a quota might be unlikely now as it could slow getting results in ?? Who knows ?

Just seemed a coincidence with the video coming out too ??

Perhaps UHB had a quota of patients to enrol, and achieved quickly, although it is unusual to restrict a centre!

Unlikely all 100 have been recruited. I previously posted a 'projection' of optimistic recruitment, and suggested the 100th patient is likely to be enrolled end of April, and then trial would close 15 days later, then data collection etc etc.

We will hear third week of May and onwards, when hopefully some easing of the lockdown will be in place.

A treatment is required even with a vaccine because viruses are notorious for mutating!

If people can receive a treatment that prevents/ reduces burden on the hospitals then it is a no brainer. Especially looking at the nursing home cases.

B'ham hosp. website stated last night "SG016......was able to finish recruitment within a week. Initial results from all trials are expected within weeks." I read that to mean not just them, but the whole trial ?? Is that the view on here ? It ties in with the YouTube interview today ??

Not surprised theyre moving into looking into non hospitalised patients now too ( it was an option in the trial I think anyway )- in combination with early home testing......could prevent many folks ending up getting worse and not requiring hosp ??
