16/1/2023 15:53 | If rhodium is so scarce and so important for catalytic convertors, makes you wonder why one of the big automakers doesn't just snap this up. | riverman77

16/1/2023 15:15 | Thanks, so they should have plenty of material for next few years. Given that this is on a cash adjusted PE of about 3 then perhaps don't need to worry too much about the life of the mines. | riverman77
16/1/2023 15:07 | It's ongoing tailings due to production chrome of host mine | donska
16/1/2023 13:58 | The information suggest 10 years + with the potential to extend They also have mining rights for 2 new developments which resources being updated 2023 | donska
16/1/2023 13:41 | Since the tailings will be exhausted at some point (don't know when that would be and that detail doesn't seem to be readily available) I would value SLP on a discounted cashflow basis, not on a PE basis. | riverman77
16/1/2023 13:01 | The only doubt in my mind is whether available tailings for processing are going to be exhausted at some point. It is mentioned as a challenge in last AR. | madpearce
14/1/2023 23:04 | 2.7 PE in any company not about to imminently go bust is insane, never mind a cash rich zero debt operation like SLP. I'm expecting a rerating within 6 mnths target price 160p | purplepelmets
14/1/2023 21:37 | Investors Chronicle quoted a future pe of 2.7, with was it billingate - not sure - billing something at pe of 6, but they indicated that the pe ratio was quite silly and the company could be a takeover target. Seems an outstanding buy to me, unless I am missing something. Stock I held last week I thought had reached a peak, but I didn't sell, and they kept on rising still - good job I held on, I may dip my toes into SLP though. | clive7878
13/1/2023 07:52 | carcosa, Samancor are not shareholders so I assume you mean they are the only buyers of SLP's output. Are there no other smelters in SA? | johnrxx99
13/1/2023 06:28 | ST suggested SLP was a takeover candidate. Certainly based on financial figures alone it most certainly is. However I remember researching this in years past and the real problem is that the company is reliant on Samancor and there approval more than anyone else is required. In fact I would say that the only likely acquirer of SLP is Samancor/Terris Chrome Limited themselves but given they have seemingly showed no interest in doing so to date then I'd hazard a guess SLP will remain in its current form for many years to come. | carcosa

10/1/2023 17:26 | For anyone else who has struggled to find the Regency report on SLP, you will not find it under the given title without going through the following route. You first need to go to then use the Menu to select Free Reports, then select the report called 2023 Share Tips of the Year and choose Download where you will be asked to supply your name, email and phone details. SLP is one of 5 recommendations (CNIC, AZN, SLP, HSBA, MONY) in the Report and entitled The Small Cap Miner That's Too Cheap To Ignore. The Report is not quite up to date, having been published in November 2022. The Report is probably worth a read and the following is an extract: ''Sylvania currently trade on a forward PE of 4, one of the most attractive in the Metals & Mining sector, and one of the most attractive in the entire UK stock market. The forward PE compares very favourably to forecast EPS growth of 11%, giving the stock a PEG ratio of 0.4. Sylvania also score well across several other value metrics. Price to Free Cashflow is just 5, and EV to EBITDA is 1.71, one of the best in the Metals & Mining sector. This rock-bottom valuation helps to more than offset the potential for weak economic conditions which threaten industrial demand in the near term.'' | petersinthemarket

10/1/2023 17:06 | "In terms of my active watchlist, I feel that two of my 2022 Bargain Shares Portfolio constituents will either re-rate further or attract interest from predators: lowly rated commodity play Sylvania Platinum (SLP:108p)" Quote from Simon Thompson of IC. today. | nimrod22
