07/5/2021 08:20 | JLP only just started to get to SLP levels during the last year but their earnings potential is far more with a hugely more dynamic approach in order to expand . SLP is the steady Eddie . Both will be hugely undervalued based on the next set of financials which will be eye watering . Anyone that thinks PGM basket price is not important to both companies needs to take another look at the accounts imho. | kennyp52
06/5/2021 20:20 | If you want copper - JLP. If you want Chromium and Ruthenium - SLP. If you want reliable profits and earnings growth over the last five years SLP wins out all the way to the bank. PS. The price of Platinum is not going anywhere fast. | freddie ferret

06/5/2021 16:42 | 3 of the best cheap UK stocks to buy in an ISA! Royston Wild | Wednesday, 5th May, 2021 | More on: RKT SHED SLP Metals mammoth I also think that Sylvania Platinum (LSE: SLP) is one of the best value stocks to buy right now. The metals producer trades on a forward price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of five times and boasts a dividend yield above 5%. There are a few reasons I’m positive about this UK mining share. For example, its product is used in huge quantities in the manufacture of car exhaust systems to clean up dangerous gases. It’s thus poised to gain from growing green legislation as well as a bounceback in global car production. IHS Markit thinks light vehicle output will rebound 14% in 2021. Bear in mind, though, that improving economic conditions and consequently investor confidence could damage safe-haven demand for precious metals. And this could damage Sylvania’s revenues in the process. | risa5
06/5/2021 11:30 | I have the basket price up about 13% (currently $5,177 cp $4,576 Q3). I'd be careful about Q4 v Q3. Q3 included a large sales adjustment because of the jump in prices during Q3 (which was what a lot of Q2 deliveries ended up being invoiced at). There'll be an adjustment in Q4 but not as big. Also Q2 had no by product sales and then Q3 had a big jump from Q1 so maybe includes Q2 output. I think we'll be lucky if Q4 ebitda is as good as Q3. I reckon ebitda of ~$170m for the year (but a run rate of about $220m). Obviously still incredibly cheap compared to an EV of $413m... | stemis

06/5/2021 09:29 | I make the average basket price/oz in US$ for the current quarter up by about 26% as compared to Q3. (Using a model that rather fortuitously predicted the Q3 4E basket price to better than 1%) | metis20
06/5/2021 09:21 | Does SLP have some interest in copper at all? | rcturner2
06/5/2021 09:15 | Does anyone know what the current basket price is vs q1? Sorry to ask. Thanks | allonblack

06/5/2021 09:05 | 12m Forecast Rolling from Sockp..... SLP 3.5 THS 4.3 JLP 5.6 "We have standardised certain Ratios for comparison purposes. In the case of the PE ratio, what we have done is create a rolling 1 year forecast earnings number which weights this year and next year's earnings forecasts depending on how far a company is through in its fiscal year. This puts every single company in the market on a comparable footing, allowing a like for like comparison across forecast valuation, growth and dividend variables. This is known as the 'rolling PE ratio'." | nimrod22
06/5/2021 08:55 | Last night PE was 5.9 at 131p. THS was 5.8 at 151p. JLP was 7.8 at 17.9p. | farnesbarnes
