below link is a good read, and covers some of your questions.

I'm sure other posters will have a mixture of miners, ETFs, holdings in BullionVault, and small amounts elsewhere for emergencies.

Those looking for other mining exposure, I'd suggest Ivanhoe Mines on the Toronto market (IVN:TO). 15% gain over the last month (63% on the year).
from the FT:- "Ivanhoe Mines Ltd is a Canada-based mining company. The Company’s segments include the Platreef property, Kamoa Holding joint venture and Kipushi properties. The reportable segments are engaged in the development of mineral properties in South Africa; exploration and development of mineral properties through a joint venture in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC); and the upgrading of mining infrastructure and refurbishment of a mine in the DRC respectively. It is focused on three projects in Southern Africa: the development of new mines at the Kamoa-Kakula copper discovery in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Platreef platinum-palladium-nickel-copper-gold discovery in South Africa; and the redevelopment and upgrading of the Kipushi zinc-copper-germanium-silver mine, also in the DRC".
Also from the FT "The 6 analysts offering 12 month price targets for Ivanhoe Mines Ltd have a median target of 7.01, with a high estimate of 10.02 and a low estimate of 4.01. The median estimate represents a 19.66% increase from the last price of 5.86".

Hi MF, have bought a platinum tracking share that costs nothing but follows the ups and downs of the platinum spot price, easy to do and also you can do the same with BullionVault where you buy the physical metal but do not take delivery, I have a very decent holding on slp and have watched it for a while now and use it as a proxy for the platinum price even though it moves with the chrome ups and downs as well. Even though I am a gold bug having been in the jewellery trade for some years I feel it will soon be platinums turn in the sun within the next year or so. My opinion only of course but I am certainly putting my money where my mouth is on this. Have done well over the last year with centamin but feel now that it has reached full or near value so need to branch out into new stocks related to platinum and the smaller gold miners.

I do about 90% of my trades during the auction periods 7:50-8:00am at 9 am, 11am, 2pm and at the end of trading at 4:30-4:35pm as it works well for me. To do so you need Direct Market Access (DMA) or a broker who has DMA

At the opening of the auction the bids/offers are frozen and an attempt is made to match as many shares to be sold against shares to be bought, known as the 'Uncrossing Trade' (UT).

The auction is an automated process and market makers have little to do with it. It does not reflect normal trade pricing. Hence if you will often find a share marked down several percent at the end of the day only to be marked up the same amount the following morning (assuming no market/price sensitive moves have occurred overnight).

Bottom line.. Ignore UT trades/prices in all but exceptional circumstances

Given what was visible the closing price does not make sense.

A buyer was willing to pay 70p and the seller was around 68p at 16.34pm

UT stands for Uncrossing Trade. It was struck at 66p hence the (apparent) price drop.

UT ' Uncrossing Trade
This is used for the single uncrossing trade, detailing the total executed volume and uncrossing price as a result of a SETS auction.

What’s the UT? Also I’ve never seen that Trading at 69- 70 at close then dropping to 66 after close. Would be grateful if anyone can enlighten me

Not sure if any of the regular contributors like Plat or Martin and Danger or Corrie have picked up on this but it’s listed In IC as one of the top value shares to invest in out of all the thousands of aim and footsie stocks

Just look at Tharissas accounts. Substantially higher cost of sales. Lower quality PGM and substantially lower profitability. Less than 40% of SLP in 2019

Rhodium at USD 14500

Tharisa THS mines more than double the PGM's than SLP, Market Caps for both around £200m

Although everything is running along smoothly, its when I start to become worried as there's often a setback that takes all by surprise, meanwhile......

Copper is on a great run as well at the moment, up 56% since March low point.
