There either has to be one of two things tomorrow... They derisk for another 10 years by spending 40 million on chrome tailings and another processor, Or they pay out a substantive dividend compared to last year.


If neither of those occur then it buying at 59p might have been a mistake

2 million shares traded which is well above the historical daily average of 1.5 million. 70% Buys yet the price barely moves. This is the part of market economics that always baffles me

Assuming I’m in the ball park in my $50M plus profit forecast($53.9m) then if they achieved target of 76k ozs and maintained run rate costs then profits would be nearer $60m. So assume guidance is at least 76K ozs for 2020-21 subject to no covid interruptions then profits could be $75m plus

In the last set of accounts the SLP PGM split In ounces was 60% platinum 26% Palladium and 14% Rhodium.
In Value using today’s prices on metals daily that’s Platinum $545 Palladium $600 and Rhodium $1890. Total PGM basket $3035 less smelting costs at 25% = $2276
This applies to 2020-21. The 2018-19 average gross basket was $1135 the 2018-19 average gross basket was $1277. The first half 2019-20 average gross basket was $1830 up 50% on the previous year.
The 3rd quarter the average gross basket rose to $2038 the 4th covid affected quarter was $$2107. Average gross basket was $2000 for the 2019-20 year so this is up by 57%. Current trading for 2020 21 at today’s prices is up 36% on 2019-20

They quote gross basket. The smelting costs are accounted for in the cost section but bundled with all other production costs

I suspect that, without looking at delayed trades, these 61 prints are 1,2,10,100 etc trades designed to make it look like it's being sold into / falling

SLP 4E PGM breakdown varies depending on production at each site, but last reported was below:

Platinum: 62.1%
Palladium: 25.2%
Rhodium: 12.5%
Gold: 0.2%

We'll no doubt get an update on Monday when presentation is released with the Accounts of 4E PGM split.

Other 6E PGMs treated as by-products (Iridium and Ruthenium), albeit in quarterlies they also do provide metrics on 6E basis too.

If you take the SLP 4E PGM basket price and deduct circa 20-23% for refiner fees etc., you get to round-about the price SLP achieves, although again on Monday we can recalculate this from Accounts.

Plat and Martin I pulled up last years report from 2nd September and it was number 5 in the list of bullit points in the first paragraph. I always announced with the results thought it was normal practice. The timetable for ex dividend, record date and payment date are often an additional announcement but the cash or stock value is usually on the day
