23/12/2016 11:56 | Merry Christmas all! | greedfear
22/12/2016 23:15 | Much, much more than that to Ariana CC. Good luck with your choice. | 5huu
22/12/2016 11:39 | Perhaps Stratex should take over AAU. They will have the cashflow to fund the drilling and there would be a lot of economies of scale. | blobby
22/12/2016 11:24 | Shuu, gs888 - agreed both companies have positive attributes, the difference is that Stratex will not have to raise any more cash for their Turkish mine development - that will come from the jv bank account. AAU will need to spend $10-15m on drilling to prove up a decent resource before Salinbas becomes worth selling or mining while Kiziltepe will be working to pay back AAU's current loans. So can you see why I chose to keep STI and let AAU go? | charles clore
22/12/2016 10:59 | I am continuing to hold both. :)) | goldenshare888
21/12/2016 16:30 | Respect your view of course CC. I too hold both as you know. The two companies have many very similar attributes. It will certainly be interesting over the next few years to see both evolve. | 5huu
21/12/2016 13:50 | Shu - A couple of weeks ago I decided I had too much invested in Turkey. My thinking has not changed. I have held Stratex for much longer than AAU and think they are closer to releasing shareholder value so I am staying with Stratex. AAU is a well run company and Salinbas is a nice thing to have but will take a lot of funding to prove a bankable resource and even more to build a mine, whereas Stratex is already producing and has a years worth of cash in the bank. A year down the road I expect AAU (with Kiziltepe) will probably be at the same stage as us, money in the jv account with distribution still to be forthcoming and shareholders baying at the company's door. Both outfits with similar range market caps but AAU almost 50% higher than STI for whatever reason is unjustified in my view. With Altintepe producing STI has to be worth so much more. No contest imho. | charles clore
21/12/2016 12:46 | Agreed, AAU looking very exciting also! 2017: THE YEAR OF THE TURKEY!! LOL :)) | goldenshare888
21/12/2016 11:57 | Charlie, I hope you haven't jumped ship in Ariana too soon!!Looks like Kerim has pulled off one hell of a deal on Salinbas. | 5huu
21/12/2016 10:53 | Gs - yes agreed and I expect we will be WOWed by the next piece of news we receive. Its about darn time! | charles clore
21/12/2016 10:26 | :)) January PAY DAY here I feel! :))))) | goldenshare888
20/12/2016 07:33 | Yeah 'cos that never happens does it. | shortarm
20/12/2016 06:21 | Wouldn't make any sense for a sale of Altintepe to be above the market cap | danieldruff2
20/12/2016 00:26 | With respect Steve it was a 'large' fortune ;-) | exbiz
19/12/2016 22:12 | With due respect Charles, 'geo pocket money'. Bob and the good ol' boys blew a small fortune. | steve1905
19/12/2016 21:52 | CC a sale and some exploration success finally would be great but I won't hold my breath. | exbiz
19/12/2016 21:39 | exbiz - I agree things cannot be worse than the days of the Geologist pipe n slipper dream club. I think Emma played a part in the transformation but I don't think she was the catalyst. I actually think it more likely there was a large shareholder uprising triggered by a group of dissatisfied small shareholders gathering information and presenting them with the facts. I have doubts as to whether Bob and Chris's tenures would have been approved at the next AGM if they hadn't retired voluntarily, just my opinion, I have no proof. Although I would very much like to see Altintepe run its full term allowing profits to be used for a much larger and more profitable project I think it more likely will be sold off, but for a very good price. Marcus is a seasoned businessman and won't settle for Geo pocket money like his predecessors. I am really looking forward to 2017 because that will truly be our year imho. | charles clore
19/12/2016 21:27 | Not sure which way this is going to go but my hope and expectation was always for extended mine life, especially as the other areas were more prospective during exploration. However it wouldn't surprise me if a sale is being organised in the background. As much as I am disappointed with Priestly's lack of buying in the share department I do believe that the more focused and professional approach has only come about since she came on board and it's probably down to her that we have had board changes, which in turn gives me more confidence that if there is a deal to be done it will be far better than if the old money grabbing duffer squad were still bumbling along. Only time will tell. | exbiz
19/12/2016 20:25 | I think there's a good chance the next substantive news will be the sale of altintepe. Probably for a lot less than the perceived fair market price but much more than the current market cap. Only imo. | luminoso
19/12/2016 20:21 | Charles There is some truth in your reckoning but it is for positive reasons Stratex are, at the moment, unable to say much on production in my considered opinion. There was some kind of explanation given to me at Mines & Money, I was surprised by it. It was mainly to do with how well the mine had done to date. I think investors will be pleased once news is released, I have every belief that next year, finally, will be a very good one for long suffering shareholders. We need to think of extended mine life confidence, low cost production + a new mine that is easily meeting production expectations. DYOR etc | tadtech |
