exbiz there was a 500k sell during the week that pulled it down. I think I partly allowed the sell to complete by buying some :-(

Priestly hasn't risked a penny during her tennure. Likewise, our new man. Previous directors buys came as a fop after a big bonus payments.

I did look at GRL earlier in the week after vosene said he'd bought in and had a punt as the website info was down, possibly being updated with drill news. Price was 1.49 that day, yesterday 1.23 so it seems odd the price drops significantly when there is supposedly a buzz about the company.

Come off it Charles, they haven't released news of worth for months and you know it.

steve - if you are a director in a listed company where news is imminent you are not allowed to buy shares in your own company. It's called a closed period. Could that be a giveaway?

romeike, on the day of the rise there was an unusually high volume (for Stratex). 2nd highest in 4 months. Things back to normal now though.
The new man hasn't the courtesy to inform shareholders on why there has been no Altintepe update. A few sentences on wtf is going on can't be so difficult, it's not like they've worked their fingers to the bone. I suspect they'll be toddling off to their extended Christmas breaks now. None of them with the commitment to buy shares at this 'bombed out price'. You have to wonder, given all the good news behind the scenes (according to our guys on the ground) why they're not balls deep here.

Close friend went to proactive event last night (as we both hold AAU shares). Strangely there was a lot of talk about GRL, with a few linking it to the rise in Stratex this week. Might explain why Marcus was excited about the new technical support relationship and the results from the RC drilling.

Any directors buys yet? Putting your money where your mouth is? Talk is cheap.

Reassuring to see all these oil company execs buying shares in their companies now that sentiment is turning positive on hydrocarbons. It really helps build confidence that they are fully engaged in making a success of it. Just saying :D.

Jim only if news from Altintepe is good and by good I mean quantifiably good not just spun as good as it has in the past with no substance. There seems to be a lot of jumping the gun on Altintepe update being really good news but past experience has shown me that disappointment is never far away. I really hope that Marcus can turn this into a proper business delivering value for its shareholders but having been to a number of presentations myself before I know that whoever presents will always put across a great idea and enthusiastic vision for the future but in the end talk is cheap. We need to start receiving income and produce some positive drill results. Our drilling record is pitiful and the fact we have not added to our JORC for so many years is pathetic. Marcus may talk well but so far he has missed Q3 reporting and closed pi's out of the loop by exempting them from email replies. And still NO director buys in so, so long. Not seeing much of his alignment between directors and investors yet despite his assurances to the contrary. Will he be good to his word or will he just turn out to be a more polished performer than Bob ? Only time will tell.

Clan,
After meeting Marcus at mines and money last week, I came away feeling he is a competent individual with a good tracks record. He totally gets the importance of cashflow and is here to add shareholder value. We need to be patient though as things will look way better in 3-6 months time. Stratex is worth at least 4-5p per share once we get news from Altintepe imo.

Shog fully understand your criticism of the company and it's previous directors,
my opinion was the same as yours perhaps
more so.
There is a major change with an experienced and successful CEO now in place. Give Marcus sufficient time to change Stratex.

blobby - true, we should be told what is happening and why. Instead of keeping shareholders disappointedly waiting on the words of the previous CEO the new one should issue an RNS to tell us the Q3 update will be included in the EOY report.

Meanwhile the trajectory of gold looks encouraging.

Charles,

"would you really welcome a Q3 production update now"

Yes absolutely.

"We know that Altintepe Madencelik is cash rich and production was looking great at the end of Q2. So what is the problem with being patient..."

This update was promised in an RNS to the market by Stratex. If the promise is not going to be kept then we should be told. Keeping promises builds trust.

I believe Marcus needs to be afforded considerable time to build a relationship with Bahar before he can start delivering what we all seek. In the past I have founded foreign language JV's/partnerships (which turned out to be good, bad and ugly) and experienced first hand the trust-building and challenges; that experience probably makes me more patient than some other posters. My discussion with Marcus was to press-the-flesh and judge whether he has what it takes - IMO AOK so far.Cheers, tightfist
