blobby - would you really welcome a Q3 production update now with incomplete negotiations on mine development, cash balance, cash distribution, closure costs, future mine development etc etc? Then another report in 2 or 3 months? Or would you rather wait a bit longer and get the full caboodle in one go? We know that Altintepe Madencelik is cash rich and production was looking great at the end of Q2. So what is the problem with being patient, letting the new guy do his job properly and hopefully when all the talking has been done we will be very pleasantly surprised.

What Marcus needs to get is simply this: demonstrating how and when he is going to create and return value to shareholders, that in itself would put some life into the share price and ev

Tightfist, thank you for your report. This type of post is what makes this bb worth following.

You say that “[Marcus] really does get shareholder angst” which is great to hear. If only he could evidence this a bit better. For example, not replying to e-mails is clearly going to raise the angst of each shareholder who has written to the company. Also, not publishing a production update as promised (3rd quarter update) is also very bad form.

As did some other Posters, I had a decent discussion with Marcus at Mines & Money and came away feeling reasonably comfortable. He was eager to chat and really does "get" shareholder angst regarding Bahar and the JV's cash but will wait and do the right deal in the New Year rather than be rushed to an early conclusion. He was very upbeat about his new-found Istanbul-based negotiating partner and his geologist resource; also the JV purchasing strategic parcels of additional land towards extending the mine life.He is clearly eager to get his hands on the cash entitlement to move forward other projects away from Turkey. He was keen to formalise (20th Oct RNS) the long-running technical support for GRL - IMHO that is a positive indicator for the man.Cheers, tightfist

'We are well placed going forward"
Says Marcus Engelbrecht CEO of Stratex.

Marcus has a breadth of financial and mining experience and thus what he says carries far more weight and confidence than the utterances of former Chairman Chris Hall and CEO Bob Foster imo

STI on the leaderboard for today with a rise of 13.5%. Mind you, we are great company with other basket cases like Herencia and Empyrean Energy.

Frank Bruno once had an STI allegedly. Says so on Twitter, just like you said Tad.

Tad I've just checked the Twitter accounts of Djokovic, Tyson Fury, Freddie Flintoff, Kevin Peterson, Wladamir Klitschco and Colin Montgomerie and there's nothing on their accounts about Stratex.

Tad - do you think juju's reign of despondency will be over when we get that news? (just kidding juju, I know you are just as keen for a price rise as the rest of us). Now, we just need to bust (I won't say it)p and we are off to the races.

It is worth remembering that only 55% of the issued share capital is in free float and that will be a key share price driver with a uptick in volume.

Also bear in mind STI has the same number of shares in issue now as it did in 2012 when the share price hit 10p.

I think once news comes out concerning the gold mine more than a few will be pleasantly surprised!

Add to the mix a new and hard nosed CEO and we have a perfect combination for a significant re-rate.

And Rick Rule is with Sprott, isn't he ? Nevertheless, thanks for spreading the word and trying to get this moving, Tad. Got to admire your proactive style - better than the likes of me sitting around moaning every now and then ! POG is stirring. Something happened ?

Tadtech,

The only big hitters at mines and money last week were guys like Rick Rule, Amir Adnani, Ross Beatty and Tom Kaplan. The last two could buy Stratex 50 times over, so think the share price would have moved a lot more if they were interested.

I don't include myself in the above :)

Tad, I'm interested in seeing some 'big hitters' talking about Stratex on twitter. Do you have a link or #tag?

If it puts TURKEY on the table for Christmas that's bootifull Tad!

Maybe we will re-visit the dizzy heights of 2.4p!
