GCAA & DOT Abu Dhabi move to speed drone operations approvals
Posted 26 September 2016

The UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) is working with Abu Dhabi's Department of Transport (DOT) to electronically link their drone operation approval systems in a pilot project which could halve process times

News of the pilot project, expected to be in operation by the end of this year, came at the Second Drones Middle East conference being held on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island.

Anybody remember when the Court Case in Texas begins ? 18th October ?
I seem to recall thinking that buying some before Friday 14th might be a reasonably good idea, as a complete gamble, optimum buy-in share price permitting.

Hi PM - I don't think he replies to questions etc.- at least, I've never seen a reply. He just ramps on all relevant BB's and is very flexible with the facts. He also seems to post on both threads which is why he is always duplicated. Hard to know which is the more annoying, him or the Menace!

"Investors Champion commissioned commentaries"

So AERO have now appointed another commissioned reporting company to spread the word? Not a good sign, IMO. I wonder how many they think they need?

The Investors Champion piece is too promotional, IMO, and both recent reports mentioned margins, without saying what they actually are, a crucial piece of information investors need to know.

IC also glossed over what could be an expensive and extremely messy US legal action coming up. (I still think they will try and avoid it, but until it's officially off, it's still on....)

I think AERO should have dealt with the court case issue first, then once it's out of the way, work on a marketing and promotional plan. Otherwise a negative court result would wipe out all the new interest.

Reading that IC report you would think the price has risen, rather than fallen around 90%!

Hats off to management for a terrific turnaround!

For a higher risk recovery one need look no further than Strat Aero (AIM: AERO) an international aerospace company focused on the rapidly emerging Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (“UAV”) sector. Since arriving on AIM in November 2014 this start-up with ambitions to capitalise on opportunities in the emerging UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) has struggled. At IPO the Group raised modest gross proceeds of £650,000 at 8p per share (net £300,000) and initially saw its share price soar to 12.38p resulting in a market capitalisation of £9.62m. We commented in our earlier Blog how this seemed a high price to pay for what appeared to amount to a concept stock.

There has a been a staggering amount of newsflow since, covering fund raisings, options to acquire other businesses, trading updates, change of management (including CEO), acquisitions of other UAV businesses, contract wins and legal action against the former Chairman, who subsequently counter-claimed. Quite an eventful 1st year on AIM!

Results for the year ending 31st December 2015 saw the business generate an operating loss of US$5.8m on revenue of US$433k. With a good chuck of the loss attributable to impairments the operating cash outflow was a bit less at US$3m. The Group held net cash at year end of US$367k. August 2016 saw a fund raise bring in £370,000 at 0.5p and news that revenues for the six months to the end of June 2016 were approximately US$410,000.

The really promising news came on 8th September, when it announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Geocurve, has been awarded a further contract to provide aerial inspection and level survey services for the Environment Agency’s Thames Estuary Asset Management 2100 (TEAM2100) programme. Depending on contract options and call-off timing, the TEAM2100 programme could deliver in the region of £1m in revenue to Strat Aero over the next 18 months, and £2.5m over the duration of the whole programme.

With share price in the doldrums and the current market capitalisation only £2.2m, it might be one to watch in what looks like an interesting high growth market. However, it’s certainly not for the faint hearted and there are bound to be a few more capital raisings needed in the short term to boost the coffers, not to mention the distraction of legal action with the former Chairman!

Strat Aero is an international aerospace services company focussed on providing professional services using Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technology, covering all aspects of the value chain including consulting, training, aerial services and data analytics.

Yes gangleader, They're not like i'd like them to be but I'm not complaining am I, Geocurve is SA so get used to it, Keeping up with with the real news is exactly what's being done here now, Not harping on with past events that have reasons for The problems, they have been addressed and look very much to be solved.

There has been much news you lot have ignored and disregarded over the last few months that haven't suited your negative campaign since the changes were made, successfully, and things are progressing nicely,
You don't and won't see it that way but We all know whats happened here just as well as anyone and have every reason to consider progress has and will continue for years to come, All that's needed is to keep up with the news of whats happening in this sector and SA's position in it, not the spin you lot make up,
You will or course continue and probably argue until it's to late for you to gain the ridiculously low entry point you were all working for, which hopefully must be the reason you've all continued to post negatively with nothing to offer regarding recent activity,

All you can do is hope for some miracle to allow you to get back to what you've missed. Why not lead your gang to better things, Others have realised this was never expected to get below 1p and should things go as many now expect this will be a great investment at even much higher. Read up and have a good long think about it!

Dennis - you great big tulip, do you know nothing? How else do you think Geocurve contributed .6M turnover last year if they didn't have quite a few contracts? I'm really surprised you didn't know that. But Geocurve isn't the problem is it? SA managed to to incur debts of 4M+ last year - on what exactly? Even if Geocurve double their revenue this year (and they might with their latest contracts) and SA managed to half their losses - we're still nowhere near making a profit, which is reflected in our sad share price Do try and keep up with the real news Dennis and stop imagining things that really do not yet exist. You should see things as they really are, not as you'd like them to be!
