If of any interest to fellow investors in SEY do revert to GPX ADVFN bb and read Slowracer's observation today re: possible future tie up between SEY and GPX which could perhaps be a good way forward.

Mr Genel Energy, I have a small position in GPX, there's been chat on the GPX board this last fortnight about SEY.

Could you please advise further why you think SEY would be attracted to GPX ? Location / proximity in Kurdistan ~ Syrian assets perhaps ?

SEY as you know withdrew from Kurdistan in 2013 because of the lack of opportunities the 2D seismic presented, why would they wish to go back as opposed to developing projects in Somalialand and Mauritania ?

Mind you, those countries are the previous boards' ' turf ' and there's only one * well to drill in C10, Mauritania, if they go that route ( * gas not oil .. ? )

Hence, your observation re : a merger with GPX would be a good idea is of interest ! Many thanks.

-- Onshore Somaliland, the acquisition of 2D seismic data on the Odewayne (Genel 50%, operator) and SL-10B/13 (Genel 75%, operator) blocks is due to commence by March 2017. The data will be acquired as part of a Somaliland government owned speculative 2D seismic acquisition project, with the Company purchasing the associated data from the government

I have given up on this sold and took the loss. They have done no work for far too long producing very little. Though with my luck the share price will take off and you'll all make a fortune so good luck to all who stay with it

Lets hope the new Directors have more ideas than the last lot. That will not be a difficult task! Invest the cash pile or give it back.

It is interesting that YF Financial became a 15% holder in April 2016 but the Company failed to RNS this until 5/1/17 due to an oversight. I don't believe that it was an oversight. I accept that the Directors only come out of hibernation for a few days per year to collect their unearned salaries. But as they have done nothing for several years other than sit on a large pile of our cash which is not reflected in the share price, it seems incredible that they failed to report a major change in a shareholder which was probably the most exciting thing that has happened for years.
The Directors continue to be an absolute disgrace.

Thanks for that SQ. It gives a clear picture as to where SEY has the drilling rights, so along with Tullow they should be thinking of going for the gas we hope...we have to have a dream don't we, after all at the moment we only have a diminishing oil drill which is just paying the directors wages :-/

Kosmos have the adjacent blocks C8, 12 and 13 (Sterling has C10 block).

Seems to be mainly gas discoveries (AKA failed oil drills).

I see BP has taken a large interest in a Mauritania block, we have a 13.5% interest in Mauritania...any hopes SEY is going to benefit in this area now?

The board of this company is a total disgrace. They are clearly totally incompetent and the only honourable thing to do is give us all our money back by liquidating the company.

The CEO's role with SEY is his eighth job in 10 years, so he doesn't have much of a track record for sticking around.

I am now firmly of the opinion that most aim market companies are run by chancers and third rate executive losers.

Take this statement from SEY's website:

"We are focused on delivering value to shareholders through a disciplined business model, via successful and sustainable exploration projects with the ability to be monetised during the lifecycle value chain at the appropriate time."

FFS, unless it is intended as a statement of irony, which part of "delivering value to shareholders" equates to a company having a market capitalisation approaching a third of its value in cash reserves?

Without Chinguetti production/income these leeches will eventually whittle away the cash balance to nothing.
